i’m so proud of Watson
I feel the need to brag on my boy for a second, so bear with this first-time dog-mom. 😉 In just over a week, Watson has learned… And here’s an obligatory picture of the goofy teether…

Happy two weeks until A Dream of Home releases to newsletter subscribers! (Sidenote: I can barely believe we’re halfway through the year, but it’s been a great and growing one so far. ❤ ) Here are a few quotes to wet your appetite… 😉

my mini-reviews of current Doctor Who (episodes 6-8, the finale!)
I’m back again with mini-reviews of the Ncuti Gatwa era! 😉 Reminder: all these episodes are available on Disney+. S1:E6: Rogue ⭐⭐⭐ Oh my Bridgerton! The regency vibes and the alien concept in this were so. Much. fun. You’d think with such a light episode there wouldn’t be very Doctor-y moments, but there were. The...Continue reading »

i got a puppy
And his name is Watson (unofficial middle name Goober) Hoppman! He’s a four month old beagle (we think). We adopted him from a shelter on Sunday and brought him home the next day. ❤ He’s noisy and wiggly and chewy and (currently fighting for my attention while I write this) and drives his older sister...Continue reading »

my sci-fi novel needs beta-readers (ahhh!)
Y’ALL. Sorry to shout, but I’m just so excited!! My Jewish sci-fi novel has been through developmental edits and now I’m ready for beta-readers! Here are some of the perks of being a beta-reader… And I’m sure there are many more I’m forgetting. 😉 (And if you haven’t beta-read before don’t be intimidated–it’s just like...Continue reading »

mid-year book freakout tag – 2024 edition
I can’t believe it’s already time for one of these again! 😱👀 Like, how?! Let’s get started! 1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2024? Oh, dear. How do I choose? I have a few favorites, but I have to choose The Only Girl in Town by Ally Condie because of how it has...Continue reading »

an update on my stories
Just a little update on my current projects… I finished draft one of Project Serenity: Morgan last week and am sitting on it before I do any rewriting. It’s only 11k long, but I’m so happy with it, and I think revisions will be relatively easy. 😍 I immediately began drafting Project Serenity: Isla, but...Continue reading »

Queen Sacrifice has a chilling ending
(Please note, this synopsis contains spoilers for Jonah, book #7, which you can view my negative review of on Goodreads.) “Oh, Philadelphia… Don’t you know it’s too late to go home? The year is 2076. Earth is ruled by a one-world government. In order to maintain unity, all citizens must deny their national, racial, and...Continue reading »

a very bookish father’s day // The Little Castle by Kate Willis
Happy Father’s Day! In honor of my dad and this day, here is the story I wrote for A Very Bookish Celebration based on the poem “The Children’s Hour” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. 😉 Engedi sighed and dropped her pencil, flexing her left hand against the cramp in it. She had four more poems to...Continue reading »

just one month…
…until “A Dream of Home” releases to newsletter subscribers! *screeches* (Are you subscribed? If not, you can fix that right here.) Here’s a little more of the first chapter, just for fun… “Breathe, honey.” I stared up into the medic’s black-brown eyes as she held something cold and rigid over my mouth and nose. Moments...Continue reading »
