Friday Feast ~ Strawberry Lemonade Slush

IMG_3235To continue the celebration of my new book DRAGON KNIGHT’S AXE, I wanted to have a drink to toast my couple ~ Alastair and Fiona. This cool, refreshing beverage is one I know Fiona will enjoy. However, I believe Alastair would prefer to have his mead.

In addition, I had the lovely opportunity to visit Kimi’s Medieval Author Blog. I surprised her by showing up with Alastair MacKay! For a chance to win a signed print copy of DRAGON KNIGHT’S AXE and swag (Alastair’s suggestion), come on over and...

Please welcome the lovely and fellow Wild Rose Press author, Karilyn Bentley! I’m celebrating her new release, The Detective’s Dragon. I was hooked the moment I heard there was a dragon.

Before we take a peek into her latest story, here is my interview with Karilyn…

MM: Thanks so much for visiting us today. Describe a typical writing day. Are you a morning, afternoon, or night-owl writer?

KB: Morning or afternoon if I had my choice. Unfortunately, the day job means I’m an evening writer. Ear...

There are so many people to thank, but it’s you, dear readers–friends and family who have brought so much joy to me with your kinds words of encouragement and love for the Dragon Knights. To show my appreciation, I’m planning something special next week, so stay tuned.

I will be doing my first blog tour with Goddess Fish Promo...

Friday Feast ~ Midsummer Mushrooms in Cream

IMG_3122

With Midsummer in a few days and a week until the release of Dragon Knight’s Axe, I want to sing, dance, and eat like the faeries. This dish was created solely for a Midsummer’s Eve feast. Truth be told, the fae do enjoy mushrooms, milk, butter and thyme.

There are many folktales and songs linking the “Good Folk” with mushrooms. A circle of mushrooms growing in a grassy area is known as a faerie ring because the dancing feet of faeries created the mushrooms.

Typically, I would have a glass o...

Friday Feast ~ Spring Pea Soup

Co. Clare, Ireland ~ Mary's trip

Co. Clare, Ireland ~ Mary’s trip

As I stated last week, the recipes for this month are in honor of my characters from Dragon Knight’s Axe. Alastair and Fiona are for the most part…vegetarians. You’ll find out why this medieval warrior cannot harm the animals in his story. He was a complex man with many layers.

When Fiona entered one particular scene and pulled out a sandwich, I knew she shared the same eating habits as Alastair, too. It was a joy to write these characters. Only two more weeks...
