Friday Feast | A Viking Meal

Would you dare to dine with one of the wolves from Clan Sutherland? What tempting food could they slip between your lips? I’m certain you’d like to have a Viking horn filled with mead to quench the flames of desire as they continue to feed you from the many trenchers of succulent smoked fish, meats, vegetables with wild garlic and onions, along with breads soaked in honey and hazelnuts.
Hmm, I see a feast in the next book, which is Rorik's story. Yet first, let me give you a small glimpse into...

Long and Short Reviews Weekly Blog Challenge | An Early Recollection

Welcome to Wednesday's Weekly Blog Challenge hosted by the lovely people at Long and Short Reviews. The topic this week: My earliest memory.
In talking with a friend recently, I shared how many memories I could recall before the age of five. A few were the scrapes I got into--from wielding a plastic sword on a bike, to disobeying my mother and running through the house. Each of these events required stitches on my head and chin. These memories are all in vivid color, and I remember the moments ...

Friday Feast | Dragon Knight Duncan MacKay's Weakness for this Treat

I'm reminiscing about the Dragon Knights this month. The first book started with a battle in October of 1204, so I'm going to start with a verra special and unique Highlander.
In honor of Duncan MacKay, the hero from my first book, Dragon Knight’s Sword, Order of the Dragon Knights, Book 1, I wanted to share one of his favorites ~ Damson (Plum) Tarts. This is a recipe I had on my original blog many years ago. As a bonus treat, I’ve included an excerpt from the book.
Excerpt, Dragon Knight’s Swo...

For bastard-born Robert FitzStephan, being given Eleanor d’Outremer in marriage is an honour. For Eleanor, this forced wedding is anything but a fairy tale.

Friday Feast | Turkey Pumpkin Chili

There is something comforting about soups, stews, and chili simmering on the stove (or slow cooker) during autumn. In addition, I'm a huge fan of pumpkin--from pumpkin scones to pumpkin soup. Now many of you would say, "Pumpkin in chili?!" Yet it's a wonderful combination, and I've shared the recipe on other social media sites. The pumpkin adds a richness to this hearty dish. It's one of my husband's favorite and most requested during the cooler seasons.

Mountain Blaze inspiration
I love both the ocean and mountains. I live near the ocean, and thankfully my cousins live a few hours away in North Carolina. The idea for Mountain Blaze came to me while we were all touring the area around Ash...

Friday Feast | Entering October with Mushroom Soup

It has been a verra long week, and I'm craving comfort food on a Friday. Do not tell me what the temps are outside. I refuse to acknowledge this current heatwave. In fact, I'm defying it with this soup.
I love mushrooms and onions, and this classic twist was one I thought of years ago and have seen many variations. Since this is the harvest season, I'd love to venture with an expert out into the forest somewhere, anywhere and forage for mushrooms. It's on my bucket list of things to learn. My ...
