Infected Windows 8/8.1
Recently we have had a few computers come in that seem to not boot!
It goes like this, you turn your puter on, the splash screen comes up as normal then it shows your "log-on" screen , then it just sits at a black screen and may or may not have the mouse arrow showing.
We have found, and you won't like this, but the computer is infected with malware!! And, for most of you out there, you won't ever get it to boot again without a computer tech. We have come up with a procedure to fix it, but it is complicated and requires a second computer, a specialized adapter and software. I can't even recommend you buy my book and follow the clean up procedures in there to fix it. But what I can say is, if you had my book and did the monthly routines and the download/install procedures I have recommended, this situation would never have happened. Sorry!
The good news is the computer is not hooped, like many of you will think. It is fixable without hardware replacements or complete reformat, but you do need a shop which will cost you!

Computer Scammers
Canada's' new anti-spam law!!
Well this didn't take the scammers long! Just had a customer in with a computer that he was locked out from using. The scammers had put up a screen that you cannot close, it said " You have been deemed a Spammer for money" . You must pay a fine of $150.00 before you can use this computer again. Then gave a phone number where you can make the payment and they claim they will unlock your computer. DO NOT PAY THEM
Get your computer to a shop, you won't get this one out yourself.
