CANADIAN TEEN, 15, JAILED FOR RUNNING PROSTITUTION RING WHICH SHE SET UP BY LURING GIRLS AS YOUNG AS 13 THROUGH FACEBOOK AND TWITTER.

A Canadian teenager Kailey Oliver-Machado, who ran a 'sophisticated' prostitution ring when she was just 15, has been jailed for six-and-a-half years. According to a report, Machado, now 18, would lure girls as young as 13 from the Walkley housing complex in Ottawa on Facebook and Twitter saying they would be paid to attend parties and sleepovers. The report further averse that, the young girls will be confined in small rooms, forced to perform sex acts and some instances threatened with violence if they didn't.

Oliver-Machado was found guilty of 27 charges at trial including human trafficking, sexual assault and making and possessing child pornography. HERO DAD WHO RESCUED 5-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER FROM THE CLUTCHES OF KIDNAPPER AFTER SHE WAS SNATCHED FROM HER BED

Aaron Edson, 37, a step-father was named today as rescuer in Utah, Sandy for rescuing his five-year-old daughter from the clutches of a brazen kidnapper who snatched her from her own bed in the middle of the night. According to Utah, police, Edson, 37, awoke to find Troy Morley, 46, carrying his daughter across his front lawn at 4:30 yesterday morning in quiet Sandy, Utah and screamed 'What are you doing, that’s my daughter, you’re not taking her!' Morley, who is 5-foot-11 and 250lbs, put the girl down without struggle and fled but was eventually caught in another house after a police dog subdued him.

A recent report carried out by the Office for National Statistics figures UK reports that the number of rapes in Britain hit a record high last year - with more than 35 women attacked every day according to official figures. AMAZON SET TO OPEN ITS FIRST STORE IN MANHATTAN TO SELL ITS KINDLES AND LET CUSTOMERS PICK UP THEIR ORDERS.

Amazon is planning to open its first physical store in Manhattan, on a building on 34 Street, opposite the Empire State Building, the Wall Street Journal said. The new store will act as a pickup and returns Centre for customers, as well as a showroom for the firm's Kindle line.

The physical location is 'about marketing the Amazon brand,' people familiar with the matter cautioned that Amazon's plans could change, and that the store is an experiment and could be deemed unsuccessful. WOMAN SHOT, KILLED AFTER SAYING NO TO A MAN'S ADVANCES.

Mary Spears, 27, a mother of three boys, ages 8, 4 and 1, was shot and killed at the American Legion Joe Louis event in Detroit over the weekend after she rejecting a 38-year-old mans’ advances. The incidence was said to have taken place when the suspect allegedly asked for her number, Spears, whose fiancé was also at the event, told him she was already involved with someone. The suspect, however, continued harassing her, security took the man out of the club through the back door and escorted him to the front. PARENTS' AGONY AS TEENAGER, 15, 'WHO WAS BEING BULLIED AT SCHOOL' IS FOUND DEAD IN WOODS ONE MILE FROM HER HOME.

The issue of bullying has become so pervasive in our society today mostly in our schools of higher learning. Josie Leigh Herniman, a 15-year-old teenage student, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, killed herself in woodland after being mercilessly taunted by school bullies. Herniman - a pupil at Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College, a school of 900 pupils rated ‘good’ by Ofsted - was found in woods close to Weston Hospital at around 9pm on Monday after police received reports of the body of a teenage girl in woods around a mile from her home.

According to Avon and Somerset Police Detective Sergeant Martin Longden, who is investigating the case on behalf of the Avon coroner, said: ‘This is a tragic event and our thoughts are with Josie's family who are devastated by her death.
