You’ve got an idea for a book, but to get to a publisher, you’re going to need an agent. Your book proposal is the marketing document that packages your work to sell to an agent, who will turn it around and sell it to a publisher. In this session, you’ll learn the basics of what’s needed in a book proposal, and how that will help you sell your book.

New Storytelling Show Launches in St. Pete
I’m thrilled to announce I’ve partnered up with Keep St. Pete Lit to bring a new storytelling show to St. Petersburg. True Stories starts Wednesday, July 13, at Old Key West Bar & Grill in downtown St. Pete. Bring your five-minute-long true story and wow us. The theme for the premiere episode is arrested.
Each month will features a curated storyteller, and YOU. Every person in the audience has the chance to tell a story. Put your name in the hat (or maybe not a hat), and if you’re called you get five minutes to tell your real-life story with a beginning, a middle and an end. No props. No notes. So whether you come to tell or listen, it’s a night you won’t soon forget, because every show a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Admission is $5 suggested donation. There is no free admission. RSVP on Facebook.

WHAT: A themed monthly storytelling show featuring personal, true stories

ABOUT: Keep St. Pete Lit is dedicated to fostering the literary arts in St. Petersburg. A 501(c)3 organization, Keep St. Pete Lit hosts a book club with the Museum of Fine Arts, offers classes at the Morean Arts Center, runs a bookstore at Bloom Arts Center, and regularly creates special events.
Lisa Kirchner is the author of the critically-acclaimed Hello American Lady Creature: What I Learned as a Woman in Qatar. She hosted the popular Next Chapter storytelling show at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City, and was a story coach for The Moth. At one time she was simultaneously the dating columnist for an alternative newsweekly, bridal editor for a society rag and the religion reporter for a gay and lesbian newspaper.
