Loving the Tiger

Holidays are coming!  It must be almost Christmas - I just saw the Coca Cola ad!I'm starting to get excited now - I don't think it's actually Christmas day I like best, it's the run up to Christmas, when everyone's all happy, and there're decorations everywhere - I love the festive atmosphere!  That being said, I try to avoid the crowds when shopping.  The thought of being trampled to death scares the heck out of me.Anyway, back to business, my new story about Carrick and Lauren (who first appeared in The Tiger's Mate) is now available to buy.  I did agonize over the title - and thank you to everyone who sent suggestions - but ultimately I just went boring and called it Loving the Tiger.  The blurb ishere.  If you haven't read The Tiger's Mate first I don't think it's absolutely necessary to do so.  FYI - Juliet from the SEA series also pops up here.  Her own story is coming soon.I'm thinking it's going to be one of a few spin offs from the various series I've got going.  I've got one in the works called Leaving the Rhino (involving characters from the recent novella Scared to Death), and also one about characters that popped up in the Grey Wolf story Mating the Red Wolf.  Anyway, that's all for the future.Take care, and I'll be in touch soonE

Tiger News!

Happy Halloween!Okay, Happy Halloween (for Monday)!Whether you celebrate or not, I hope you all enjoy your Halloween.  The Halloween themed story Scared to Death is also available to purchase from Amazon.  If you missed it, you can still read ithere.Anyway, new, news, news!  Up next I'm completing a spin off story from the Grey Wolf Pack Novella - The Tiger's Mate.  It's about Carrick and Lauren - the uneasily mated tiger couple who popped up throughout it.  I started it a while ago and then dropped it when I became obsessed with gargoyles (well, can you blame me?).  But in between obsessing over what's happening in Westworld (which has overtaken my obsession of The Walking Dead for must see TV) I've been working on it.  There is still a way to go, but below is a small rough (very rough) peek at it.  I'm not entirely sure about the title - possibly The Tiger's Tail - but that's a bit close to the The Tiger's Mate so I'm still thinking on it and I'll let you know when I have further news.Take careEPeek:Lauren gave Carrick a sidelong glance.  The male shifted his huge form, his knees pressing against the dash, his head touching the roof and his arms bulging.  He was not built for small cars.  Why on earth was he teaching her how to drive? Her tiger was all submissive and timid as a kitten, but Lauren was downright irritated.  How on earth could she persuade Clay she’d make a good mate if she weren’t allowed near him?She was thrilled when Clay called her up and offered her driving lessons.  Less so when Carrick turned up in Clay’s place.“Whose car is this?” she asked.  It certainly wasn’t Carrick’s.  He owned a nice SUV.  The tiny compact looked like it had been hobbled together from three different cars.Carrick frowned.  “I don’t know.”  He canted her head and his eyes darkened slightly.  “Clay found the vehicle.”“How come Clay isn’t here?” she asked, staring straight ahead.“He’s busy,” muttered Carrick.“Really,” she huffed under her breath.“Yes,” he snapped, making her jump.“This isn’t anything to do with what you said yesterday is it?” she demanded hotly.Carrick growled, a bone-shaking growl that shook the entire frame of the small car.Her tiger warned her not to ask, sensing that Carrick wasn’t exactly in the right mood, but Lauren didn’t care.  When was he ever in the right mood?  Her tiger cowered, but Lauren forced herself to look at Carrick.  Not in the eye, she couldn’t quite manage that, but at one of his scars.  The white damaged line flowed from the corner of his eyes, landing on his cheek.  It must have hurt when it happened, must have been bad if he couldn’t heal it.  It takes a lot to scar shifters, but then he had been through a lot.  For a second, his anger seemed to withdraw and all she saw was pain.He was about to shout at her, but her next question stopped him.“How did you get that scar?”Carrick scowled for a second before curiosity took over.  “Which one?”Lauren slowly raised her fingers to his cheek.  He remained still as a statue as her fingers brushed over the scar.  “This one,” she murmured.“Lion,” he breathed.“A shifter?”His lips twitched.  “Well, it wasn’t a wild one.”Lauren gave him a small smile.  “I’m sorry.”“For what?”“That you were hurt.  It looks like it was painful.”  With her father, Lauren was hardly a stranger to pain and punishment, but he would never be harsh enough to leave marks.“Could have been worse, he was trying to take my eye out.”She inhaled sharply and her tiger perked up in interest.  “Why was he trying to do that?”Carrick rolled his shoulders unconcernedly, his arm brushed against hers and she shivered.  “We were fighting.”“Why were you fighting?”His dark eyes suddenly shuttered.  “It’s not important.”“But…”“I thought you wanted a fucking driving lesson!”Lauren frowned at him.  For a moment there, she almost might have thought they were getting to know one another - a very strange thing to happen with Carrick of all tigers.  The moment between them had almost been friendly, and not unwelcome to her inner animal.“You shouldn’t swear,” she muttered and he gave her a look of disbelief.“Here’s the key, just get the… fudging car started.”  He passed it to her, shaking his head. She fumbled trying to put it in and his large hand covered hers.  She stilled and may or may not have let out a little eep.  The warmth of his skin on hers was... nice.  Strangely nice, and her tiger let out a plaintive meow.  She had never really been touched by a male, never even held a male’s hand before - which is another thing that made her upcoming mating worrying.  But this actually felt nice.  Carrick touching her felt nice.  Lauren sucked in a breath, surprised at that.“Just take your time,” he murmured.  “No rush.”“Okay,” she mumbled, nervous, but not because she was scared of Carrick or because she didn’t want to be there.  She was nervous because she was starting to find the huge male attractive.  Her tiger was purring but Lauren was shocked at herself.  Carrick?  Attractive?  Since when?!

Scared to Death: The End!

Scared to Death: The End if Nigh!  Actually the end is right here - it's the final part of the story.  Yay!  You can read ithere.I will be putting it on Amazon to buy in the next few days - but remember before you buy, it is free to read on the website, I won't be taking it down or anything - it's just being published for anyone who wants it on their reading device. In other news, I've been thinking about writing a serial and having new chapters come out every so often (every week or so).  Does anyone remember the short story I did about zombies and a couple getting together in the zombie apocalypse?  Eh, don't worry if you don't.  Previously, I did add another part to it, but I've decided to expand it into a full blown story.  I know zombies aren't everyone's bag, but I've loved them ever since I saw the film Warm Bodies.  (It was a book first but I admit to laziness because I've never read it.)   So if you do like stories featuring zombies, you can expect the first instalment soon.  (Although, disclaimer, none of the zombies will be cute or fall in love like Nicholas Hoult in Warm Bodies - the zombies will be the regular gross kind.)Take care and hope you enjoy itE

Scared To Death: Part Deux

HelloScared to Death: Part Deux is now available to read online.  (I completely took the 'Part Deux' of the title from the film Hot Shots: Part Deux - I watched it over and over growing up.  I love the bit where Charlie Sheen just throws a bunch of bullets at the bad guys - if you've seen it, you know.  If you haven't, watch and prepare to roll your eyes, shake you head and laugh at how silly it is).Anyway, you can find ithere, and I'll be publishing part three soon.  Enjoy.E

Scared to Death: Part One

Happy Halloween!Okay, yes I'm very early but I am definitely in the Halloween mood.  I've already eaten so much candy -including half a pack of orange Kit Kats - they're amazing.  I'm just deciding on which kind to try next - gotta stuff myself silly while I can.Anyway, I have a slightly-Halloweeny new SEA story to share. It's a bit lengthy (20,000 words approx) so I've decided to break it down into shorter parts. Completely annoying maybe, but you won't have long to wait for the other parts.  It's called Scared to Death and Part One can be foundhere.I'll post the next part soon. For now - look at the Kit Kats!  (Yeah, yeah, I've got too much free time.)

Gargoyles and Vacations

Hi there!Apologies, it's been a while since I added anything but (excuse time!) I've been moving house and everything's been a bit topsy turvy.  You never truly appreciate how much you own until you have to put it all in boxes.  I've found things that are over twenty years old and I forgot I had (why did I keep my school lunch boxes?) - I'm a bit of a hoarder I'm afraid. So, anyway, enough of the boring, onto the interesting.  I'm sorry it's later than hoped, but I'm expecting the next gargoyles book to be published on 27th September.  It will be about Annis and Chris, and will be called, When a Gargoyle Flies.  Below, is the draft blurb and a small excerpt.I am going to be out of touch for the next week as I'll be on vacation and will only have intermittent wifi, if any.  So apologies if you want a response from me for anything - it'll most likely need to wait until I return.Anyway, take care and I'll post as soon as I'm back and the new book's available.E*Blurb:Two months has passed since Kylie first accidentally awoke the gargoyle, Luc.  (Surely other women get drunk and decide on a whim to kiss a statue too, right?)  With each passing day Kylie, Luc and the rest of their growing clan are searching for other gargoyles to free from their enforced sleep.Annis, a female gargoyle with a damaged wing fears that her life in this new world will be just as hard as life with her old clan.  Used and abused by her old clan members, she doubts she will be truly accepted by her new clan either.  However, there is one bright spot – a human called Chris who she met after she knocked him out and tied him to a chair (that’s another story).  The male incites some very alien feelings in her that almost make her forget that she is a broken gargoyle. But although Chris cannot deny his attraction to the sweet gargoyle he is reticent – still burned from his marriage and uncertain there could be any future with a gargoyle.  He tries to stay away from her, but the two are thrust together and while trying to sort out their feelings, they find themselves running for their lives. With old enemies lingering in the background, Chris and Annis will have to fight their issues and fight to stay alive.*Excerpt:“Wakey, wakey.”Chris groaned as soft fingers tickled his stomach.  “Five more minutes.”She giggled at him.  A lot of his time with Mara now left a sour taste in his mouth, but in truth, they had their moments.  The sweeter, quieter moments when he truly believed they were in love.  This was one of them.  The one he dreamed about.  The morning where he didn’t want to get up, so he didn’t.  For once, he played hooky from work, and they spent all day making love.  That was the time he didn’t mind being irresponsible.  It started with Mara tickling his chest hair, her smooth, supple body pressing against his.  Completely hidden under the covers, her head bobbed, and her laughter taunted him as she kissed her way down his torso.  He couldn’t pretend to be asleep for long.  Finally, her laughter stopped as she found his manhood, engulfing him in her hot, wet mouth.  He moaned as she took his length, caressing, and suckling at him as if her life depended on it.  Their sex life was always glorious, and fleetingly he wondered what they would have without it, but he pushed that thought aside and just enjoyed the attention being laved upon him.Abruptly she let him go, and her hand curled around his member.Chris frowned.  No, this wasn’t how the dream was supposed to go.  He pulled at the covers, dragging them off her.  But it wasn’t Mara.  It wasn’t Annis.  Her body was splayed between his legs, her tail dancing between his feet.  Her wings framed her perfect, pink body, fluttering gently around her.  Her breasts hung plump and peachy as she bent over his groin.  Damn if the sight of her didn’t make him even harder.  Annis looked up at him with startling purple eyes and swollen come-hither lips.“Is this not what you want?”Chris let out a yelp as he tumbled to the floor, tangled in bedsheets.  After a fight with the bedclothes monster, he leaped to his feet and scanned the bed.  Empty.  Morning sunlight filtered through the room as he searched it, searching for any sign that the female gargoyle had been there.  Nothing.  The bedroom was the same as when he went to sleep.  He didn’t know whether he should be disappointed or not.It was a dream.  Nothing more than a dream.  Yet it had felt so real.Chris grunted and flopped onto the bed.  Strangely enough, his mood did not improve when Bob nosed his way into the room, leaped on the bed and promptly slumped on top of him.“Thanks, Bob,” Chris mumbled. With very little ease or grace, Chris managed to maneuver into a face-up position with Bob lying next to him, rather than on him – Bob was cute but no lightweight.  Absently, Chris scratched the dog’s head.He shouldn’t think of Annis that way.  There was no future for them, and he doubted Annis was the type to go for one-night stands. He shouldn’t consider her attractive.  It was her own fault if he did.  Dancing around in a bare slip of a skirt and a piece of cloth no larger than a handkerchief covering her breasts.  Her tiny outfits perfectly showcased her slim figure, taut breasts, long legs and flat stomach with a tiny indented belly button.  Not that he’d been looking or anything, but it was all on display – he couldn’t help but notice her.  If Brenda had dared wear so little, he’d have tried to lock her in the house. He was just horny.  Obviously, that was all it was.  It had been nearly two damn years since he had sex and he was starting to feel the pinch. After Mara died, he dated, he slept with a few women, but although it gave him a physical relief, he didn’t find it altogether satisfying.  Perhaps his experience with Mara just soured relationships with women completely.  But now… well, now he was starting to feel desire again. But he couldn’t do anything with Annis.  It wouldn’t work.  Brenda and Kylie were fooling themselves if they thought they could have normal relationships.  If there was one thing he’d learned, it was that he needed to be practical.  He didn’t need to be in another relationship with someone unsuitable.  He already went through that, with three months of coming home to an empty house, a wife doing and going wherever she wanted and rarely coming home at night.  What might seem cute and fun while dating, soon becomes old in a marriage. He didn’t need another letdown, and he definitely didn’t want to disappoint Annis.  He needed to stay away from her.  It was for their own good.

Confusion

HiJust a quick note - the new Supernatural Enforcers Agency book (The Bear and the Unicorn) is book five in the series.  At the moment on Amazon it's coming up as book six - but no there isn't one missing - technically, it is volume six of the series (because the short stories book Holiday Mates is volume five), but it is definitely book five of the full-book series.  Apologies for any confusion - I've added a subtitle to on Amazon which should be appearing soon.  I hope that clears things up... or maybe it makes it more confusing - not sure! Not sure who book six will be about yet - I'd like to do Juliet's story but then there is also Avery to do, and I have an idea for Wayne too - ooh I can't wait to write them all!Best wishesElizabeth
