New Reindeer Story Available!

HelloThe next in the Reindeer Holiday series: The Reindeer's Halloween Claim is now available on Amazon, and you can read the short blurb here. Here is a peek:*Heather pressed her lips together, so her smirk wasn’t quite so pronounced. But seeing such a large, well-muscled young man blush was quite a funny sight. He was decked out in black trousers, boots and a black t-shirt that hugged his gorgeously buff frame. She figured he was one of the reindeer army who were sent to guard Temp and Marion on a regular basis. Oh, to be surrounded by huge, brawny young men every day! She was rather jealous. Though, a little bit more jealous than she had been since this one came into view.He was smaller than Tank – the gargantuan male who had mind-bogglingly married the tiny Marion – but he was still pretty big. Enormous really compared to her tiny five-foot-nothing physique. Of course, she wore five-inch-heels, but they still barely put a dent in their height differences. She imagined being in bed with this beast would be somewhat like being smothered. Her lips curled as she imagined the blushing young man in her bed, as she imagined those huge, rough-looking hands all over her body...She had a strong, almost predatory desire to see whether she really could lure him back to her apartment. No wonder her mom thought she was a sex maniac. But Temp might not like her dallying with the herd members. Plus, she had actually come here for a reason.“I’m Heather,” she declared, pretending she wasn’t covertly ogling him and trying to work out whether he would look as fabulous naked as he did clothed.“Ummm…”“Hello, Ummm, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she teased. He shifted uneasily, and the bright red hue of his cheeks deepened. Heather felt her smile widen. There was something disarmingly cute about him. He looked like he could flatten a car with his mighty fists, and his head appeared to have been carved out of granite. But for some reason, she found him sweet, and in spite of her pressing need a moment ago, she was reluctant to move on and let him go. Loath to allow some other woman to be the object of that deep, blue gaze.Alas, she could not stand around enjoying herself all day.“Heather?”Temp spotted her and Heather cast a regretful, wistful look at the giant young man and gave him a jaunty wink before making her way into Temp’s office.*Available now at Amazon. : )Take careElizabeth

Slight success

Firstly, thank you to everyone for your kind and supportive messages you have been sending me. It's reassuring that there are such sweet people in the world - because heck knows I do wonder these days. But the messages I've received have really bucked me up, so I really can't express how grateful I am. And saying 'bucked up' reminds me of a quote from the Terry Pratchett book, Guards, Guards, which always makes me smile: “They felt, in fact, tremendously bucked-up... which was definitely several letters of the alphabet away from how they normally felt.”I hadn't planned on sending out a new message quite so soon after the last, but I've had some success in that the stories that @cherrybirdie was plagiarising on Wattpad.com have all been removed, and the account that person was using deleted.I'd like to say Wattpad.com removed them, but no, they haven't done anything - the person who has been stealing them deleted their account after I posted a message on the site stating the stories were stolen. Though, if you do google the name @cherrybirdie you can actually still see some of the book covers the person had been using for my work - there are pictures of A Bite Before Dying and The Bear and the Unicorn on Google. Seriously - they created their own book covers for my work!I don't hold out much hope of Wattpad.com taking any action against this person, as all you have to do is give an e-mail when you sign up. Though, I will be submitting a complaint, asking them to apologize and to explain how they are going to make sure this doesn't happen again.Take careElizabeth

News!

Okay, first of all - I'm super pissed. Why am I super pissed? Because (thanks to a lovely and helpful reader), I've just found out that someone is plagiarising my work and passing it off as their own on a site called Wattpad. I had never heard of this website but I have notified them and told them of the plagiarism, and also sent messages to the person, but so far nothing is happening. It just... it makes me so angry and quite frankly makes me want to cry. I spend so much time trying to write, and that someone would just then take it from me and actually take praise for it disgusts me. They actually reply to messages people send saying that they love 'their' work! This 'writer' even have two thousand followers! This person has bought my books from Amazon and then copied and pasted them into this Wattpad website - and if you read the comments, you can see they actually have the nerve to complain about other people plagiarising them! If you are this person @cherrybirdie, take down the stories **immediately** - they are not your stories to publish or share. This person even just copied what used to be the info on the homepage on my website!I've had a really crappy year and this really is just the icing on the horrific cake! What kind of a person does this? But then again, I thought the same when I was robbed just a year ago. Why are people so horrible and selfish? Okay, I feel like crying again. So I'm all of a twitter, waiting to hear back on what's happening there, but let's move onto some more bad news.I have raised my prices on Amazon. I know, I know, it's bad news. But I have been writing for five years now, and what with the issues I've faced over the last year, I thought it was time, but I don't want to be completely unreasonable about it, so it's going to work like this:- Novellas and short story collections will now be $1.49- Longer stories will be $2.99- However, for the **first** month of publication, any story will be $0.99- And the first story in every series will always remain at $0.99I'm sorry if this is a disappointment to anyone. I've also had to slim down my website - it was getting a bit unwieldy and as I'm currently acting as a carer for my mother, I really didn't have the time to update it, so I've made it as minimal as possible so it takes less maintenance.Hoping to have a new Reindeer story available soon, but honestly, I'm a little loath to publish anything - knowing that someone else is just going to rip me off.Depressingly yoursElizabeth

September Update

So I'm pleased to say that the gargoyle story about Gracchus is finallllllly out - if you haven't seen it yet you can get it from Amazon. Do it now! I know that when you buy print books there are usually a few quotes from reviews on the jacket - to try and encourage you to buy, so here are a few to encourage you to get the Gracchus story:"Not as long as some books.""Eventually the author does get to the point.""There are worse ways to spend your afternoon. I can't think of any right now..."Did that whet anyone's appetite?! (I'm joking, those are all made up by me - though for all I know some may be accurate!)Anyway, at the mo' I'm working hard on Bettina's book from the SEA series. I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and ever since I've wanted to have a story set on a cruise ship. I'll send out a peek of that soon.I'm planning on a new Reindeer story about Ariel which will be centered around Halloween, so I'm making plans for that, and after Ariel I was thinking one more final story in the series around about Thanksgiving.I've also got bits and bobs in the works - new Bounty Hunters, new Grey Wolf, New Jaguar Kidnappings, as well as ideas for new series (Aliens, Bigfoot). Lots of things are ticking over, and I'll let you know how I fare with them.I'll be in touch soonElizabeth

July Update

Here is the July monthly update to let you all know what is going on and the answer is... not a whole heck of a lot.I have a lot of plans in the works, but I'm afraid due to my mother's ongoing health issues I haven't been able to do much. The last time I was in touch, my mother was being readmitted to hospital again (following complications from a hysterectomy). She was in for about a week as she had an infection and was sent home with a cathetar for the kidney damaged in the original surgery. We did quite well for a week but she is now back in hospital because the cathetar stopped working and she had to have another one in and she got an infection... well, basically, she should be coming home tomorrow. I think she's a little sick of being in hospital! Hopefully, she should be home and recovering until her kidney repair surgery. (Apologies if you've just joined us - it's an ongoing saga.)Anyway, I'm sorry to say, that progress is very slow right now. I'm very slowly getting through the next gargoyles book, and the revised plan is for it to be ready this month. That's my main priority right now, and as previously mentioned will be about Gracchus and Melissa. If I get a little more time in the next week or so I'll send out a sneak peek. After that, I have plans for the next Supernatural Enforcers Agency book (about Bettina) and the next Bounty Hunter story (about Wyatt). I had pondered about doing a 4th of July Reindeer story, but it never got out of the planning stages, so the next one will be later in the year and will be about Ariel - I think that may be pushed back to Halloween.Take careElizabeth

June Update

I thought I would start doing an update at the start of every month on where I am with current projects, so here is it.Update:1. Part four of the newest Reindeer story is almost ready - I just need to make a few changes to a few things I'm not happy with. I'm aiming for it be ready in about a week.2. I've started work on the next Supernatural Enforcers Book, it will be about Bettina and her vampire - and will be called Vampire on Board. They will be solving crime on a cruise ship. Yeah, I know, it's about time that we had some cruising crime solving, right? It's still quite early for this one, but if I can't make much progress with that this month, then hopefully it will be ready late next month.3. I'm progressing with the next Gargoyles book, which is about Gracchus and Melissa. I'll send a peek of it when I've got more to work with - hoping this one to be ready later this month. Not sure of the title of this one yet, at the moment it just 'When a Gargoyle... something' - haven't found the right word to end that just yet. Solves crime? Basically, it will be about murders that Melissa is investigating, and Gracchus will be helping her/protecting her.4. I also have an outline for the next Bounty Hunter Story - which I'm planning on being about Wyatt, he'll be helping out a new, unsuspecting bounty hunter. That's on the way but definitely won't be this month. This one should be called Lion on the Loose. Those are my four current things - I have other ideas mulling around, but none planned work-wise this month.Take care Elizabeth
