Cliven Bundy
I just had to comment on this Cliven Bundy character. I think that the media is giving this guy way too much attention and spotlight... Which is exactly what he wants, to spew out all of this racist, nonsense, rhetoric. I think that his 15 minutes of fame has been well exceeded.
My book "Her Silent Screams: A Father's Betrayal" published!!!
Although my book "Her Silent Screams: A Father's Betrayal" is fiction, the subject of molestation is not. The reason I wrote the book is to show support for those who have been, or are still a victim of molestation, rape, or sexual assault. No, I'm not a professional counselor or advocate. What I am is a very concerned human being, as it relates to any child, woman, or even male being violated in that manner.
Trying to get this book published, many of the literary agents were afraid to touch it. Afraid to touch a book that focuses on, and discusses molestation. But its a problem. A very big problem!!! And we cannot pretend that its not as a bigger problem than it really is. We have to talk about. We can't run away from the issue and hope that it will just go away. No matter how ugly or uncomfortable this subject makes you feel, we have to talk about it. We have to keep focus on this matter, and tackle it head on. For the victims sake. Instead of trying to avoid the subject, we all should be passionate about trying to stop it. For the victims sake.
We also can't be so naive, and think that a molester comes in just one form, and that it can only be a male. A molester can be a male or female. It can be a father, or a mother. A uncle, or a aunt. A brother, or a sister. It can be a family member or a friend, just as it could be a stranger. The unfortunate truth is that, a molester can wear many different faces, and come in many different forms. And molestation can occur in any race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, or religion.
I put a lot of time and effort into writing the book. Had to endure some very rude feedback and behavior from some agents. Many had me change the plot, theme, story line, racial makeup of the characters, only to reject it anyway. But this was a story that I truly believed in, and was determined to get it out there one way or another. For all the headaches, frustrations, and disappointments I felt while trying to get this book published... If it can make a difference, touch, or have a positive affect on just one person's life... Then it was all well worth it.
