Why Get Healthy?

Fitness Health

Get Healthy and Fit

Have you ever asked yourself why you want to get healthier or in better shape?  What are your reasons?

Maybe you’ve been having some health issues, maybe you want to be more active and have an active lifestyle, maybe you’ve found yourself being out of breath more lately, maybe you can’t keep up with your kids.

Maybe it’s a combination of those things.  We are now more than halfway through January, and maybe your motivation for your resolutions for the year are still going strong, if so awesome!  Keep up the good work.  If you are struggling a little, no problem, it may just be time re-evaluate.  What do I mean by that?

Path to Fitness

So much of our road to health and fitness is mental.  When we decide to take on a new lifestyle we are not just retraining the body, but retraining the mind, and that is a far more daunting task.  We have to change the way we look at the food we eat, and the amount we eat, habits that are deeply ingrained in us.

That is why it’s so important to re-evaluate.  Look back over the past couple weeks. How far have you come?  How far do you have to go?  What areas have you been doing well in, and what areas need some more work.  Don’t be afraid to do this, yes you will have a lot of areas that still need work but that is okay. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

The areas you feel you are doing good in, keep going, and the areas you feel you haven’t done too good, come up with some ways you could improve them, write down ideas, do some research online, watch some videos.

The road to a better you is a constant journey.  Push yourself to constantly learn and grow.  You can do this, and you’ve got this!

Would love to encourage you and walk alongside you in your journey, if you need some extra push I have a facebook group of a lot of different people with a lot of different goals.  Click the link below and join.  No judgement, just encouragement.

Make Today Count

Fitness and Health

Today is your day to refocus, and plan on how to make your week ridiculously amazing.  Prep healthy meals for the week, get rid of all the junk food in the house and buy some healthy stuff.  Write down you goals that you want to hit for this week.

How far do you want to run?  How much do you want to lift?  What do you want to eat.

Recharge, and refuel, take some time to re-evaluate, but make a game plan.  Get ready to take on the next week and kill it.

Becoming Better

Fitness Motivation

How many times have you fallen in life?  If you are anything like me I know it’s happened a lot.  I honestly don’t know how many times I’ve screwed up at stuff.

While I’m still not comfortable with it, I’m definitely more at peace with it.  I used to hate messing up, so much so that it would keep me feeling defeated for days, I would get angry and upset.

I’ve learned that it’s not worth it to kick yourself too hard over such issues.  Failing is a part of life, it’s not a final life sentence on you, it’s not an end all decision.  It just means whatever you are doing didn’t work, and that you just need to try a different way.

Think of failing like a list of check boxes, each time you fail, you are checking off one more box of something you shouldn’t try, and narrowing down what you should try.

So don’t be afraid of failure, don’t let the idea of it keep you from venturing out into new things.  You’ve got this, if you fail so what!  It’s inevitable.  Just get back up.

Fitness And Stress

Fitness Tips and Motivation

Fitness Relieves Stress

It really does. The benefits of exercising and maintaining a healthy body go far beyond image.  It increases clarity and productivity in our mind.  And who doesn’t get stressed out?  Between our jobs, busy lives, family drama, commutes to work, there are a ton of stressors that try to jump on us and suck the life out of us.  But we can fight back.

Kick Stress in the Butt

Seriously, kick it in the butt.  If you feel the stress washing over you, put on some music that helps calm you down, breathe in and out deeply for a couple minutes.  Breathe in and hold for 3 seconds, then exhale for 3 seconds.

This act alone can greatly reduce stress immediately.

The gym, the track, the treadmill are all places to pound away the stress.  When we take our stress and formulate it into a workout we are literally working it out of our system.  The stress naturally dissipates as our bodies sweat and have physical exertion placed on them.

So if you are struggling with stress, get rid of it, kick it out.  You don’t have time for it.

Need some Fitness Accountability?

We All Need Accountability

No really, we do. Going in at fitness and retraining your body is extremely hard.  It’s insanely hard actually.  Having someone to cheer you on can make all the difference between success and failure.

When You Need A Push

Having accountability gives you that extra push on days when you don’t feel like working towards your goals, or when you don’t feel like going on.

So how do you get accountability?  I have your solution.

Fitness That Pushes You

Fitness Goals

Are Your Fitness Goals Scaring You?

I mean really, are they?  Do your goals challenge you?  Do you wonder if you can meet them?  We have to set goals when we are getting into fitness and health.  Without goals there’s not way to gauge how well we are doing, and how far we are going.

It’s really important to not set too small of goals. In other words if you can accomplish your goal in a couple weeks, then you need to raise the bar.  You want  goals that you don’t know if you’ll make it to by the end of the year.

Fitness Takes Time

It does.  Don’t expect to hit all your goals in January.  It won’t happen.  And there’s nothing wrong with that. If you are striving to become a better person, and healthier version of you, you have to work hard or a long time.

But don’t let that discourage you. Each month you will be a stronger and healthier version of you.  Even if day by day it doesn’t seem like you are making progress you are.

Need A Plan?

Are you interested in losing weight, or having more energy?  If so comment below and I would love to hook you up with some great information that can get you quickly on your way.

Conquer Your Fitness Goals

Conquer your fitness goals

How are your fitness goals going?  Are you succeeding? Having trouble?  We are now on week 2 of the new year, and I hope your resolve and determination are not waning yet.  But if they are have no fear.  It’s normal.

Week one is the easy week, you are pumped, you are determined, this is your year.  And in reality yes it is.  By week 2 some of that resolve may be going away, but again that is normal. Your body is telling you to stop, to be the same as you were, that you won’t make it.

Your Mind Is Strong

It’s true it is.  Begin to tell yourself that you can achieve your goal.  Tell yourself that you can. Tell yourself that you are capable.  Tell yourself each and every day.  I know it may sound crazy, but do it.  Affirm yourself when you are getting ready in the morning, when you are driving to work or school.  Affirm yourself time and time again

Fitness begins in the Mind

Really everything does, but especially for fitness you have to be ready mentally.  If you need an extra push or need a plan, I have just the thing to help kick start your goals.  For more information hit me up at my email:   directorb.blog@gmail.com

Lean Muscle or Bulk?

image

So which is better cutting and getting lean or bulking? The truth is? Both.  That’s right neither is better. It’s a matter of what you want to do.  Everyone has different goals and there is nothing wrong with that.

My thing is bulking. I love it, I eat it up.  But it didn’t always start that way.  Rewind about 3 years ago. I was a twig.  Literally. It was embarassing.  At that time I had been working out for a couple years but had little results.  Yes I had some definition but that was it.

So I really got on the ball and started researching.  I started realizing that until my diet changed I wouldn’t see the results I wanted. So I drastically changed the way I ate and the way I thought about nutrition.

Now three years later I have 40 lbs more of muscle. I still have 20 to go till I hit my next goal. End of this year baby!

It takes time. It took me a long time to figure out how to eat, how much to work out, what work outs to focus on etc.  I am still learning every day.  Once I reach my next goal I will make new ones, because we have to continue to push ourselves.

You can hit any goal! Hit me up on here or send me an email @ directorb.blog@gmail.com I would love to talk one on one with you and help you develop some plans for your goals.

Making Time For Fitness

Fitness Routine

The truth about having time for fitness is that there is never time for it.  There isn’t.  Between the busyness of life and everything you have going on, it’s never really convenient.  I work full time, go to college online, and a reservist in the military, have a wife and daughter, write blogs, write novels, and have to get a game of Catan in every now and then.  So yes life is busy.

Making Time for Fitness

It’s tough.  You have to put a lot of effort into making the time.  It means going to the gym, or hitting the asphalt at night sometimes, after a long day of work.  It means getting up before much of the world and before the sun.

Fitness Takes Work

If it was easy as eating cake everyone would look amazing.  It does take work, it takes commitment.  So yes when you get home from work, or when you wake up at the butt crack of dawn, you won’t feel like going and putting your muscles and lungs through torment.

Do it anyway.

Always choose the harder decision.  It will pay off in the end.
