WHY DO CREATIVE PEOPLE NEED BREAK
Sudhir Mittal
As I usually stress, I can't answer these kinds of questions from others' experience; for experience is always individual. In my being, as I put it, this is not merely a question, this is reality. And I face this reality indomitably while I am myself going through it. In this moment, as I ponder upon this question, thoughts have begun flooding in my mind.
First on first, so called creative people must not be set aside distinctively from rest of the people. It would be a great error. On our planet, not a single person can be said to be un-creative. Being human, we're superior animals entirely because of this trait. And we don't doubt that we continue being human as ever as we continue being creative. Creativity is not a stronghold of a selected few, but it's pervasive and bestowed on each human life around. Yes, creativity may have its kinds, like positive creativity or negative creativity. And that is what makes the difference among individual beings; and also in their impacts on other individual beings.
Coming back to our original question, yes, creative people do need break. And earlier they realize it, it's good for their sake. Otherwise they will be unconsciously deduced to become merely mechanical and nothing more. See, you can blow a trumpet or you can make music out of it; both are the different things. The sooner you realize that you've tired to continue making music, it's good for keep from the nonsense blowing.
Talking my 'individual' experience in particular, about writing on inspiration and spirituality combined, surprisingly often I come across needing a break. Wow, what a wonderful timing it is! Just currently, I am passing through the same period, and that's why I am prompted to write this micro blog. I think when I am in dearth of thoughts, I cannot call them by force. Aloofness, if we need call it so, is also productive in a different sense. You see, just unnoticeably, you always soak the lentil a night before cooking. You know, it is as great as necessary it is. About writing, when it comes about making your mind wandering in the unknown terrains, it must be charged up with energy. Without energy, it won't find destination even if it had a map; and with energy it will draw a new map if not already provided with one.
Actually, break for creative people is all about energy and nothing else. Imagination is one powerful aspect of energy. This is what we all do, every night, with our sleep. Isn't it as great as necessary it is? There 's no need to panic if you stop striking the creative ideas all of a sudden. You already know what you need most to rejuvenate yourself in such moments.
And while examining my 'individual experience' again, the best part is that, I actually feel no desperation for 'restarting' my writing work. If enjoy my ecstatic spells of writing, I must enjoy my aloof breaks also in between.
And I know, whenever the thoughts will come back on me, they'll flood me as usual.
For now, just this break must be enjoyed.

TERRIFIC BOOK BUT TERRIBLE END

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Giving merely three stars to this book doesn't diminish my due respect to Paulo as an author. Actually A few people in my life had been recommending this to me but I have happened to take more time (almost two years) while picking it up for my read.
While I went along, it met my all expectations, perhaps even beyond. Some particular lines, I mean it, can fleece ground under your feet. Paulo's original intent behind this book was coming across me visibly.
But just as I neared the end of the story, I was disappointed. The whole story which was going until now well grounded in practicality, instantly turned too much imaginative. Properly to say, just beyond any possible chance of applicability. How can one make talks with wind, desert and sun and even seek solutions from them to the sword hanging on his head? At this point in the story, I felt disconnected. Probably 'the end' was supposed to be fair and tested in general applicability. I do not behold finding the gold treasure in the end as impractical, but the way it was found, doesn't get endorsed by me.
Till date, I haven't stopped recommending this book to my friends, but I think it could have been better if the end of the story could have been made realistic and more usable in curious readers' day to day life. Only few days before, in a book store, I read on the covers of a new copy of it - "65 million copies sold'. Good news is that, but I hope there are many other books deserving and waiting for justice. Nevertheless it's only marketing which seems crucial.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE, I believe deserves great respect from us. Only from this book I learnt - "You cannot kick beehive if you love honey." Here I trust, beehive means the world of friends and people who are important around us. We all are supposed to live our lives skillfully and not foolishly. We do not live on island. I am writing this because it's so surprising to see a few people criticizing this master work. A work that teaches you how to live skillfully, must not be 'kicked'. Maybe 'rebellious attracts most attention' is the motive behind certain people recording their negative remarks; though full democracy in our current times very much allows that.
Above all, I had such a pleasant experience with this book. It's not that I was unaware of many things written by Dale, but effectually the words written in a book do make impact. Earlier to HOW TO WIN... I had read a few fantastic books, such as WHAT GOT YOU HERE WON'T GET YOU THERE. Tremendous experience it had been altogether. These kinds of books helped me refine as a person, both at home and at my workplace.
I began to observe my behavior more meticulously now. I improved a lot. I made progress too. Later on another wonderful thing happened to me. I felt so inspired with new ways of life, that I ended up writing a book myself. It is LEAD LIKE A MASTER. I'd figured out generally what stops people from getting five star rating in their both kinds of life (home and workplace). And I poured it all into this book. I am glad to have contributed my bit. I have been receiving many reviews that LEAD LIKE A MASTER is indeed helpful for getting the readers Five-Star-Ratings. And it's all thanks to the legends like Dale, Marshal Goldsmith and many more who have continued to impress me till date.
I wish happy reading to all, even generation to come with this timeless piece of work.

When Life Doesn't Seem Beautiful...
But the point is, whether or not it may seem to us in that way, nevertheless life is beautiful. We happen to find it wrong, or sometimes even worse, when we put the limits to it; or say we draw the lines.
In current times, so much emphasize is being given to this term 'Life' that it is presented as nothing less than a phenomena. Wherever any of us can possibly become expressive about our experiences, we think, we call and we telltale it as 'LIFE'. We trust it's all. But do we yet understand its true gravity in full? Invariably our position in life depends upon the way we understand it. Let us see an example.
Children are usually believed to be happier than grownups. If life is supposed to be beautiful, you agree, happiness is its first prerequisite. Did you ever wonder why children go happier? Even while they are least educated, most dependents, always doing silly things, and having least consciousness about their comforts; they are all merry-go-round ever. If you examine in this way, they have sufficient reasons to become unhappy. But there is certainly something which they do, we the grownups miss at.
Do you know why it happens the way it does with us? Just go now and ask a child around you, "Is life beautiful?" You will be amazed that he will not understand your question. Even if you explain, he will not understand what the damn 'life' is; nor will he comprehend your fascination about 'beautiful'. He won't have definitions, parameters, benchmarks; but he is already doing the best out of it - That he is 'Enjoying' it; rather fullest to your envy. In that moment you can imagine yourself being an intelligent salesman working in an expensive cars' showroom. One evening an illiterate rich man arrives and puts his thumb on the most luxurious car on display. You go on and on explaining the most advance features of that car, but being illiterate he doesn't comprehend any. Secretly in your heart you ridicule your customer, but merely trusting your words, he simply signs the check and drives out with the car. Looking from behind, you almost sulk. Though it's you knowing best about the buttons in the dashboard, but it's that man who is enjoying the car as a whole.
Do you catch the point? It's not the affordability, but it is 'enjoyment'. Coming roundabout to our example, children are ones who are least bothered about the 'buttons'. If you give them a toy car, they won't ask you how much speed it runs, or how much it costs, but they will simply start enjoying it; that too, then and there only.
The fundamental reason why children are happier than grown up is that, they have very short memory and even shorter vision. Let me explain this. Even if a mother, out of rage over something, scolds her child too badly; the latter forgets the offence and becomes sweet with the former in no time. About vision, children do not worry for the next year, next week, tomorrow or even following minute. They are happy with what they have in their hands at the moment and they make best of it. I repeat, they are happy with what they have in their hands at the moment.
This is what makes the life beautiful for children. Is it possible for the grownups too? Oh! What a thing which children can do and we can't (pardon pissing in the bed).
If you don't see your life beautiful, take the 'key' from here. Be happy with what you have in your hands at the moment and make best of it. Happiness never diminishes from your pocket till you're filling others' pockets with it. The way it happens is; it always spills out.
And as far as the bigger matter of 'LIFE' is concerned, it's all your error if you don't find it beautiful. Life is ever beautiful. It can't be that a rose flower stops giving fragrance even when it is scorched in the sun. It's not you who put the fragrance into the flower, but you can certainly smell it. And believe this; it's not you who make life beautiful, for it is already beautiful ever. You can only realize it to be so. And that you must.

The Series of Causation of Failed Life
It is indeed necessary to know the big treachery of mind before you can rule over your life (and not the life on you). Today, in midst of my morning prayers I struck a gem thought which I must share with all. Do not miss to notice the chain of interlinked causation below.
Mind (when ungoverned) falls pray to the 'Maya' (the worldly illusions). Having fallen to Maya, inside such mind, the 'infatuation and delusions' take place. Infatuation and delusions lead the man to the 'ignorance of unchangeable truth'. Such Ignorance makes oneself hanker upon his pseudo incompleteness (which is actually his unnecessary pessimism). Such hankering makes him 'wondering' about the worldly pleasures. Such wondering, in turn, creates the 'desires' of several kinds in the man. These desires often come across the 'obstacles'. Obstacles, when faced, create 'anger' in the man. Anger brings forth the 'foolishness'. Foolishness daunts one's memory. Daunting of memory destroys man's discernment. And when the discernment is destroyed, man's whole life gets destroyed.
Therefore, look again, where this chain had started from. It was the 'Mind' - when ungoverned. You certainly cannot stop having mind, but you can surely learn to govern it so that you won't be trapped in the aforementioned chronological series of failed life.
Power of mind is immense, in both way, constructive and destructive. Recently I have authored a fiction novel into that matter. I recommend it for your reading. It is: THE SECRET WORLD ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MIND.The Secret World on the Other Side of MindSudhir MittalSee You GodLife will Smile at You
