Praise for The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

It is a habit of mine, when nearing the end of a wonderful book, that I slow down, savor the ending.
It speaks for itself, that less than halfway through The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, I am already pausing, holding back.
Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows, I love this story.
Oh, such a way with words 📚✒️

A book review by Rebecca Moll:The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

Mary Ann Shaffer has created a small world in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society that readers not only love, but want to visit, to stay a while, perhaps, even move in.
Only half way through this book and I was already regretting its impending end, wishing for more.
Oh, the idyllic island of Guernsey, where the land meets the sea, the very edges of life.
Juliette is the young woman we all want to be, wish we were, in good times and bad. Dawsey is kind, quiet, and good. Kit is precocious, Isola is hilarious.
Yet, in the midst of all this ecclectic wonder, is the horror of war. The Holocaust. The unthinkable.
Escape is a great vehicle in times of the unthinkable. So, is the love and acceptance of others.
The challenge, I think, is to create our own island, our own world, just like Guernsey, to rely on our friends and to love them, defend them fiercely, regardless.
An absolutely wonderful story. Thank you, Annie Barrows for completing the tale, bringing us Aunt Mary's story.

New Release * Fall 2018 * Nadia Knows by Rebecca Moll

WWII. 1944. Budapest. Christmas Eve. A broken promise. A bridge not crossed.

Fast forward fifty years...

Nadia is America's much-loved Hollywood gossip columnist, her column "Nadia Knows," built upon knowing, anticipating, upon best laid plans. Everyone knows Nadia knows all. Using a unique spin on age-old fairy-tales, Nadia's column was a much anticipated read, a game to play, a mystery to solve. Yet, Nadia was the biggest mystery of all, her own story a few, short lines. Nobody knew much about Nadia and Nadia planned on keeping that way.

Just what did Nadia know?

New Release * Fall 2018 * Nadia Knows by Rebecca Moll

Good Morning Fellow Readers! Thank you for joining.
Nadia Knows is on the Amazon shelves, available for purchase.

There is satisfaction in writing a book, typing the words "The End," and holding the finished product in your hand, but the greatest satisfaction is when someone opens your book and walks your journey, enters the lives of your characters, laughs, cries, cheers, and sneers, from beginning to end. Even better, is when they pass your book on to a friend.

Because I value sharing, you will find:

1. All my books are enrolled in the Kindle Free Lending Library

2. When you purchase a paperback version you get the e-book free (when e-book available)

3. Twice a year (Thanksgiving Day & Mother's Day) in the spirit of gratitude and in honor of our Mothers, all non-new-release e-books are offered for free for five (5) days

4. All library channels are open. In addition, at the request of a library, I will make a donation

So, get the book, read the book, share the book! And I hope in the end, you come to love Nadia as much as I do.

Rebecca

Excerpt from Nadia Knows by Rebecca Moll:

Her thoughts tumbling, racing, she pushed open the doors and let the cool, autumn air fill her lungs and the wind whip across her face.

"So," she said out loud, her eyes blazing, her hands firm upon her hips, "you think you can upstage me?" Letting the wind have its way, her hair freeing violently, her pins, no match, Nadia stood, rooted and welcomed the onslaught.

A Special Thank You to a Special Man

Writing a historical fiction novel set in Hungary in the 20th Century is a bit difficult. There is very little written about Hungary and the Siege of Budapest in the English language. Although Nadia Knows is a work of fiction, I wanted to stay true to historical events, to write my story, create my characters against a backdrop of reality.
In researching, I looked to personal accounts available on-line, as well as published letters and diaries of those personally involved. A Memoir of Hungary by Sandor Marai provided a sense of the Hungarian people, their deep pride and love for their country, their grief and torment by the Russians and the Nazi's.
Yet, it was one man that gave the most to my well of information, my understanding of the people, the time and place, in which I wished to write, one man who kept me true to what really happened, and for this I am eternally grateful.

A Special Thank You to a Special Man. ZGH. "A life worth volumes."

Excerpt from Nadia Knows by Rebecca Moll:

"All those years ago, his silence, meant only one thing. No obstacle would have been too much. He would have found her. Somehow. Some way. Five-hundred rubles, a pittance, she thought, pressing her hand to her abdomen."
