How to STAY MOTIVATED When Learning Korean
What do you do to stay motivated when learning Korean? This can be a tricky subject, because sometimes we simply want to learn Korean "just because." But there are ways to stay motivated, and things that you can do to keep your motivation.
I met with Forrest and we discussed how to stay motivated learning Korean, as well as how to find motivation, and a special resource we created (on my Discord channel) to help you stay motivated. We spoke for about an hour, and I condensed all of our best tips into this (relatively short) video.

Stop Saying 그리고 in Every Sentence | Korean FAQ
Something common I notice that's not actually a mistake, but that makes sentences sound unnatural, is the over usage of 그리고 at the beginning of sentences.
그리고 means "and," and is for introducing new information, but it's not the only way to do this. Since it's so easy to use, 그리고 gets used when it doesn't need to be. This video will present you with an alternative way of expressing "And" at the beginning of a sentence, but without using 그리고.

Korea’s Latest Trend of Photo Booths | 포토이즘, 인생네컷, 하루필름
A new trend from the beginning of this year has been a renewed interest in photo booths. Actually there have been "sticker photo" booths in Korea for decades, but these new ones are quite different - and in most people's opinions, significantly better. My friend 소영 took me to visit three of the most famous photo booths (포토이즘, 인생네컷, and 하루필름). This video is not sponsored.

How to Say “Hot” and “Warm” in Korean | Korean FAQ
Two of the most common words for "hot" and "warm" in Korean are 덥다 and 따뜻하다, respectively. But these don't cover all of the ways that these words are used in English when referring to temperature. When talking about the weather, use 덥다 to say that it's "hot." But when talking about a cup of coffee, use 뜨겁다. These verbs and more are covered in this week's newest episode of "Korean FAQ."
Am I missing any?

How to start a conversation with a native speaker | Korean FAQ
One of the hardest parts about speaking Korean is simply STARTING to speak Korean with someone. And it can be even harder when you want to practice with a native speaker, even someone who tells you it's fine to practice Korean with them, to just open your mouth and begin making sentences.
I've been there too, since I had to learn Korean myself, and I've compiled some of my tips for what you can do to get through that initial difficulty. Here are some of my tips for how you can start a Korean conversation.

Learn Korean Ep. 126: ~기는 하다 & ~기도 하다
Keykat and I decided to eat some pizza, so we stopped by a restaurant on the way. Everything on the menu looked so good! But once we arrived, I realized I forgot my wallet and had to go back. Keykat should be able to take care of ordering, so I'll leave her to finish ordering.
This lesson is about the grammar forms ~기는 하다, as well as ~기도 하다. These forms are both used to change the emphasis in a sentence, and are useful intermediate level grammar forms.

Important Hanja: 화 (化) (한자) | Korean FAQ
This lesson is all about the Hanja 화, which is written as 化 and means "change." There are many words that come from Hanja and use this, such as 변화 and 화학, but also there are other uses for it at the end of words.
Also let me know if you'd like to see more of these Hanja episodes. I can of course keep making more, as there are plenty of Hanja I haven't yet covered.
