Happy New Year

The beginning of the year is time to reflect over the previous months, and build goals ahead.

A healthy lifestyle is top of many resolutions and admittedly also mine.

I’m all about healthy eating, not only for weight loss but as a lifestyle for longevity. Food can taste good, and be good for you.

Here is my Avocado, Mango and Pomegranate salad. You can add anything to it but as a base I have lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrot, capsicum, avocado, pomegranate seeds, mango slices, olives, pickled ginger, basil or mint or parsley. You can add nuts, other fresh herbs, and meat if you prefer. Finish it with some fresh lime juice and or some home made Tzatziki.

Wine

I love a glass of chilled white wine on most summer nights, so my aim is to reduce it to only on weekends, and eventually to only on occasions.

Exercise

As an author I need to move more frequently, take longer breaks, and look after my spine! Apart from taking long walks, and some gentle strengthening exercise, I need to get involved with yoga and pilates, and get in the water. My resolution is to start swimming both in the pool and for fun at the beach. Don’t forget your favourite book or your kindle to relax after a swim.

Along with personal goals my aim for 2018 is to release two books that are companion books to the current ones.

Playing for Time, and Ulara are first on my list. To find out first about my news you can join my email list here. Or my Facebook group here.

Most of my breaks are spent with family and friends but a small trip to Singapore is on our list. South America is high on my bucket list but will have to wait another year.

I wish you all happiness, and health and all the great things of 2018 <3

Healthy Christmas Balls Recipe

Christmas is about giving, and spending a special day with loved ones. It is a time we eat, and celebrate, repeat. Often the celebrations continue into the new year and then come the resolutions to lose the weight, eat healthy and get fit.

It’s been my resolution more than once.

I still continue to drink the wine, and snack on the wonderful food we often only prepare once a year but I’m changing my ways to mix up the snacks, and eat healthier snacks more often.

Today I want to share my healthy protein ball recipe that can be eaten any time of year.

I prepare mine in a Thermomix so it only takes minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

100g almonds

100g cashews

150g pitted dates

50g cranberries

20g goji berries

1T coconut oil

1T tahini

15g cacao

1T chia seeds

1T Acai powder

1T LSA

desiccated coconut

Combine almonds, cashews, and dates in Thermomix. Blend for 30 secs speed 9.

Add all other ingredients and blend a further 30-40 secs speed 9.

Roll into small balls and then coat in the desiccated coconut. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate.

One of my favourite romance reads are sport romance. My latest book is a sport romance, set in Adelaide at ‘The Bay’, and with the story unfolding over the Christmas holidays.

Travelling and Inspiration

Travelling through Greece, Italy, southern France and Spain was a unforgettable experience. There are many places I promise to revisit to soak up the history and culture, and enjoy festivities and food offered at certain times of the year. Since returning home I have continued to enjoy mojitos and sangria cocktails in our Australian summer.

Extraordinary architecture, including some beautiful churches is something I loved to explore. Gaudi’s work is just jaw-dropping and mesmerising to see. I have noted 2026 as the year to return to Barcelona and witness the completion of the cathedral.

Then on the other hand the Greek island Santorini’s vast white against sapphire oceans is a breath taking view I think we should all see in our life.

The Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terra are top of my list and once you see the photos you’ll understand why. Postcard picturesque landscape at every turn. Just tell yourself the eternal number of steps you climb to get anywhere is great for toning your legs.

After experiencing the Amalfi Coast I have planned Zane’s story from Charming the Outback, to be set along this rugged but beautiful coastline. First I have three books to complete. The good news Playing the Game is almost finished.

Now Bowie and I are planning our next adventure, and I can’t wait to discover another part of our wonderful world.

Author Life

Sitting for many hours on my rear is not ideal for many health reasons. Since I began my writing journey I have slowly gained weight and my fitness deteriorated. My fault entirely for not taking the time out to exercise so this year I made some changes. My upcoming European holiday has somewhat motivated me to walk regularly, and change my eating habits. (I need to fit into those jumpsuits!) I have lost some weight but I feel incredibly better, especially after a long walk along the coastline south of Adelaide. I walk a trail along the boardwalk, a rugged part of the shoreline, with many, many steps. All good training for Europe. What makes this part of the coast special is a few kilometres further on the cliffs disappear and you have white sandy beaches. It’s my piece of heaven where many books come to plan in my mind.

Europe will also be a valuable source of planning for future books. I promise I will post many pictures, especially of the Amalfi Coast in Italy. For those of you who have read Charming the Outback, and requested Zane’s story, this is where part of the story will be set.

Over the next few months I intend to rewrite my contemporary cricket romance Caught Out, and hopefully have some good news on the release date, and of course the prequel, Jardine.

Ulara, (the book I wrote while Shauni spent months in hospital and the reason I decided to become an author) will be another rewrite. I need to get my ‘special’ baby out in the world. Especially since it’s set in South America. I think it would be perfect to release around the Rio Olympic Games.

I apologise for not blogging as often as I should but I promise I will do so in the future, whether it be books or health matters, fashion, or anything that brings happiness. And of course I will share my wonderful holiday pictures.

Below are some images of where I walk.

Do whatever you need to stay happy everyone.

Love and kisses,

Leesa

New release: Leather and Lace Part 1 by J.A. Fredericks

I’m so excited for JA’s hot new release in the MC series, Leather and Lace Part 1. This book has everything!

You can buy it at Amazon US and Amazon UK

Here is the Book Trailer

The day Harley Sonnick is released from a three year prison sentence for a crime she didn’t willingly commit, she returns to the only family she has left—the Inferno Glory MC. But the club’s president isn’t ready to forgive her for past sins and turns her away, forcing her to trust in a new club member who’s arguably the sexiest man she’s ever laid eyes on.

Colt Sawyer, a young military veteran like the other MC members, is elusive and doesn’t have much to do with the women throwing themselves at him until Harley comes riding into his life on her own motorcycle. Together with his best friend and fellow MC member Ranger, Colt will do everything in his power to remind Harley what it’s like to be pleasured by a man and make her feel at home despite the reluctance of the MC.

Things take an unexpected turn when Harley’s worldly possessions are ripped away, forcing her to rethink her future. But she isn’t a pathetic princess in need of saving and is reluctant to accept help. Prison made her hard, forcing her to guard her feelings at all costs. So when blue eyed Colt does inexplicable things to both her body and heart, she’s forced down a dark path of passion and desire that threatens all the safeguards she’s set in place.
