C. R. Sturgill, a Transportation Manager by day and writer by night, lives in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. He is married, with one son who currently attends college at U.C. Berkeley.

DREAMS FROM THE HEART: TALES OF HOPE & LOVE—a collection of short stories exploring romance, love, and family—was his first book and dedicated to his mother, and biggest supporter, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2012. He donates all the proceeds from that book to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
