Distribution, baby. Distribution.
At long last, it's happening - distribution!
A few years ago, I costarredin a feature supernatural/horrorfilm,House of Purgatory. Written and directed by Tyler Christensen, here's the film's synopsis:
Four mid-western teenagers go looking for a fabled haunted house on Halloween night. Once finding it, they slowly realize that the house is much more than a run-of-the-mill Halloween attraction – somehow the house knows each of their deepest secrets. One-by-one the house uses these secrets ag...

Back In The Chair...
Been a couple crazy months with the passing of my mother-in-law and readjusting to Cali life with two kiddos. Thanks for being patient with me as I wade through all the emails and such. Just wanted to give a quick update to let you all know I'm back in the chair and writing again.
I missed out on sending my October newsletter but that just means I'll have some extra special news coming up here in November. Can't wait to tell you newsletter subscribers what's coming this next year... ;)

Ovar'Coming Together
Show vs. Tell. It's a rule any good writer knows well and, hopefully, any of the students I met with during these past couple weeks of school visits now realize.
Anexample I give in my presentation is a famous quote by Chekov - "Don't tell me the moon was shining. Show me the glint of light off the shards of broken glass."
Because knowing the moon is shining isn't nearly so interesting as picturing the moonlight glinting off the shards of broken glass, right? Just like amagician...

You Drove How Far? - Sept. Tour - pt. 3
Whether it's former classmates, guys I shared a floor with in college, or else meeting complete strangers, one of the coolest things about these tours has been my path crossing with others.
Oh, and seeing wicked awesome Reading posters like the Garfield one I found hanging near the Carmel Middle School library last week.
Also, some of these schools have hooked me up - I have two new Francis Parker Montessori t-shirts, a Carmel backpack, coffee mug, and t-shirts too.Understand I don't expect the...

The Look On Their Faces - Sept. Tour - pt. 2
Whenever I visit a new school, my contact for the day inevitably mentions how excited the students are to meet me, (always a good thing), then they thank me for taking the time to visit. It's almost as if they think I'm the one doing them a favor.
A cynical crowd would argue I do such visits for the book sales alone, or else as attempts to grow my audience.
I'll not deny both are added benefits, but the true answer for why I enjoy school visits lies in something far more simple. Before...

'You're actually really cool' - Sept. Tour - pt. 1
Holy schnikes you guys and gals. What a trip this has been already - and it's only just beginning!
I've visited three schools already and the students and staff have beenamazing. Also, who doesn't love it when a horde of students say to you: 'Dude, you look and act just like Tony Stark." #bestcomplimentever
I also love the questions they ask and the energy they have.Speaking of energy - how about the awesome young man in this picture to the right?
I was signing his books after the presen...

The Most Personal Thing I've Written
“People mourn in all sorts of different ways.”
My newest release, The Grave of Lainey Grace,is certainly proof of that.
The idea for this story came to me this past March.
I woke from a nap to the sound of my wife and our oldest daughter laughing outside our home with a family friend. The sun was shining through our bedroom window, the breeze blowing the pink blooms of our crepe myrtle against the glass, and I was mad at myself for having fallen asleep rather than spending time with my f...

Indy Zoo Visit
Salted readers, I wish you could've been at the Indianapolis Zoo with me this past Friday. It was amazing!
Also, now that the Vengeance Trilogy is finished, I'm diving back into the Salt world, friends. What better way to celebrate than a trip to the Indy Zoo where it all began.
I thought of you all every step of the way and snapped some pictures for those of you who've never been.
The zoo has changed a lot from the one I remember as a kid. I think they had the cheetah exhibit last time...

Soooo, this is happening.
Well, folks. It's finished. The final chapter of the Vengeance Trilogy - (check out the synopsis here).
It's been a crazy month, as evidenced by my complete lack of blog post updates. That's going to change now that I've wrapped up Salem's Legacy and a certain other surprise that I'll be dropping in my end of the month newsletter.
Just sayin'.
Promised I'd keep this post short and sweet, so I can send out the Salem's Legacy ARCs to all you reviewers who have been patiently waiting. Thank...
