Palette Knife: A Novel of Love, Intrigue, and Nazi Terror
My new historical novel--set in 1937 Berlin--has just been released on Kindle and Amazon paperback with five-star reviews. Max Bauer, Expressionist painter and war hero, with his half-Jewish physician wife Frieda--take on the Third Reich and a sadistic yet refined Gestapo henchman.
Read about the modern imagination colliding with Nazi Terror, and Max's struggle to save his art--then far more--wrestling with his own inner conviction to embrace pacifism even against overwhelming evil. Meanwhile, Frieda fights to save her medical practice.
Soon to be out in audiobook on Audible.com!

"Subversion" is spreading
My new audiobook "Subversion" is being heard more and more--exciting! The following is a short summary of this riveting paranormal thriller that closely parallels the current unfortunate Ebola outbreak--my novel released just before that happened:
“Fast-paced plot driven by the threat of a world-wide viral pandemic, an underlying suggestion of government evil, and a pervading sense that all is not what it appears to be. This is a page-turner filled with suspense as our central character races with time to perfect an anti-virus in his top-security lab near the nation's capital, all the while uncovering startling secrets about his surroundings, his work, political and scientific history, and even his family-including his brilliant and sexy wife Dara. This paranormal thriller takes on an eerie, gothic tone as Dr. Collin De Gise-a youthful Nobel Prize Laureate and ex-Gulf War Two commando-faces down the dangerous virus, clashes with high-level government figures in Washington DC, and battles to unravel the mystery of a sinister presence behind it all. Great suspense, an occult mystery that's refreshingly different, a conspiracy thriller with a chilling surprise ending that leaves you with the aura that maybe something like this isn't so incredible after all. It all seems hardly less normal than the dark turn that our turbulent society seems to be taking, especially with the striking parallels with the current unfortunate Ebola outbreak that started after our story’s release. Life does imitate art! ”

Subversion; Life on the Edge of Eternity
I'm proud of my nice reviews of my new paranormal pandemic thriller novel "Subversion" released in January (which has startling parallels to the unfortunate Ebola outbreak)
and out on audiobook--narrated by the talented Paul J. Mc Sorley; I am especially pleased with the review provided by Michael Oberhardt--a Goodreads member--who rated it five starts. The links to Michael's and other's reviews can be found on the Audible.com site: http://www.audible.com/pd/Mysteries-T...

Some Interesting Observations
I had one recent observation about one of my characters in my short story "Lonely Pines". Dr. Hayley Gardner is a fascinating study in a character who is paralyzed by disbelief--he is warned of a tragedy by someone who he can't believe--and you probably wouldn't either--so he does not ring the warning bell. That is the explanation (to the careful reader) of his apparent lack of heroism in this multiple layered character. I love a complicated character--not a cardboard one.

Suspense thrillers with paranormal undertones
Whether a thriller, suspense, or a mystery, whether a short story, a novelette, or a full length novel, the focus of my writing so far has been on stories that hopefully generate excitement and wonder
Whether a thriller, suspense, or a mystery, whether a short story, a novelette, or a full length novel, the focus of my writing so far has been on stories that hopefully generate excitement and wonder, with fast moving scenes and snappy dialogue--and twisty endings. These could almost be real, with a hint of the paranormal (occult, supernatural, horror or science fiction or fantasy--it all blends together). Paranormal here is used in the broadest sense as something beyond the normal sensory experience, which is strange--whether contemporary or historical. I aim to entertain with these books. Do I?
