Featured - Book Spotlight for "Crazy Cat Lady Finds Love" by Sudesna Ghosh
Now that's definitely a book I can get behind - not just because it was written by a certified 'crazy cat lady' but because I'm one too. And just look at that cute cover!
About the Book Title: Crazy Cat Lady Finds Love
Genre: Romance/Romantic Comedy
Length: 62 pages (novella)
Amazon: https://www.amazon.in/Crazy-Cat-Lady-Finds-Love-ebook/dp/B07G8KC9XG
Blurb:
She's a member of the Crazy Cat Ladies Club.
Her life is all about cats and the cat ladies.
Until the purrfect cat man comes along...
Excerpt:
Would Navin think I was pretty? Would he hold my hand? Maybe he would kiss me if we got some privacy?
“Too many questions, Sue,” I told myself, as the cab rolled on.
Navin sent me a text saying he would be at the café in 15 minutes. He added another text saying he couldn’t wait to meet me finally. Aww. Genuine excitement or was he being polite? I wasn’t the insecure kind but this online dating thing just filled relationships with so much mystery. Never tried it in my 20s.
The Crazy Cat Ladies Club group had three messages; one from each of the ladies, telling me to relax and give them details after he left. I wrote back asking Sunita to let us know about Vivek’s visit that night too. She replied: I will. Sigh.
Turning off my mobile data, I felt my stomach churn as we pulled up at my destination. There stood my date, dressed immaculately in a polo neck tee and dark jeans, feeding a street dog biscuits. The dog wagged his tail and Navin’s eyes said it all – he had the same look in them that I’d seen in my friends’ eyes when we were with animals. Love. It was pure, beautiful love.
What Amazon readers are saying:
"The author has a wry observational voice that makes me chuckle every time I read her. The cats are cute too and the dude is extra cute! Five full stars."
"Along with men trouble, dating issues, canine problems, and Cat man, Navin, this book makes the perfect satisfying read for pet lovers and others, alike. if you haven't considered keeping a pet, you may be tempted to after reading this. very refreshing and a fun great read!"

Featured - Book Club Spotlight for "The Wedding Shop on Wexley St." by Rachel Dove

Genre: romantic fiction
Release Date: 10th August 2018
Publisher: HQ Digital
Maria is ready to say 'yes' to the dress!
As owner of Happy Ever After, Maria Mallory is Westfield's resident wedding planner, spending her days making dreams come true for future brides.
Maria even has her own perfect day planned out too, she just needs to find the right man. So when she falls in love with local celeb Darcy Burgess she can't believe her luck – it was finally her turn for her Happy Ever After. Or so she thought.
Jilted at the altar, Maria can't believe that her fairytale ending hasn't come true. She's ready to give up on love once and for all. But little does she know that once you stop looking for it, love has a way of surprising you…
A laugh-out-loud romance, perfect for fans of Holly Martin and Tilly Tennant.
EXTRACT
Two hours later, Maria found herself in Harrogate, squeezed into the red dress, heels pinching her feet, wondering why the hell she wasn't sat on Cass's couch eating ice cream and crying. She said the same to Cass as they walked on tottering heels to the nearest trendy bar, Ice, in the wine bar and posh eatery part of Harrogate's city centre, which, coincidentally, butted up against the legal quarter of Harrogate, and no doubt the two sides kept each other in business quite well too. Walking into Ice with Cassie, it was hard to ignore the stares that her friend attracted. Cassie Welburn was always tanned thanks to her meticulous salon treatments, plucked and shaped to perfection, and tonight, as usual, was dressed to kill. Even Maria's daring red dress looked tame in light of Cassie's black and silver dress, slashed to the thigh, combined with sparkly silver heels that make Cassie even taller than her just under six foot frame. Maria blushed and nudged Cass's elbow with her own.
"People are staring Cass." Cassie shrugged.
"Let them stare, girl. Don't worry, I've got your back." Maria belatedly realised that tonight, thanks to that ridiculous article, the stares may indeed be for her and not her glamorous friend. She cringed inwardly, and planted a smile on her face. She took her friend by the arm, and pushing her boobs out and her chin up, she headed to the bar. "Let's get smashed," she declared.

Sneak Peek Sunday: Exclusive First Look at "Hidden Hopes"
I'm excited about a new book of mine which will be released in September. It's called Hidden Hopes and it's Book 2 of the Inn Love series that I decided to write because I'm not just an author but also an innkeeper. Book 2, Tantalizing Temptations, is set in England. This upcoming novel will take readers to Canada.
To read the blurb, click here. For more info on the series, click here. And now, let's have a look at the cover and enjoy a first excerpt!
Sneak Peak Sunday Snippet He turned his head, and once again she wished the hoodie and sunglasses would go so she could try to read his face. This mysterious, constantly brooding stranger was beginning to get under her skin.
“How can you be best friends with someone you’ve never met, never had any face-to-face conversation with or gone out with to have some fun?” he asked.
Hope frowned. “What’s all that got to do with being friends? I mean, I sure wish we lived closer so we could do stuff together… But we have the Internet for that, and we’ve grown incredibly close over the years. I don’t think anyone knows as much about me as she does, not even my parents.”
He was shaking his head slowly, and she had the distinct feeling that there was a frown on his face too.
“But how can you be sure it’s real?”
“What do you mean, real?”
His hand rose as if to run through his hair and fell back down uselessly. “I mean… So many people use the internet to deceive and pretend, to be someone they’re not. How can one ever be sure that a person is really who he or she claims on Facebook or wherever. How can you trust someone essentially anonymous with personal details, let them into your heart? What if it’s all a ruse to get something out of you? Fake photos or all the answers tailor-made to be whatever you want them to be?”
Her brows rose. “You’ve got serious trust issues, Mister,” she said before she could stop herself.
There was a scoffing sound from him, and this time his hand came up to scrub over his beard.
“Yeah, of course I do. Anyone with a sane mind would, in this day and age. Have you never heard about all those frauds and scams? About spectacular, freaky online dating failures? The internet’s no place for real friendships or for finding one’s true love.”
Hope sat up a little straighter, feeling personally attacked. “I get your point. It’s always good to be suspicious to some extent.” She grew agitated, gesticulating. “But don’t you think people deserve a chance?

What about you? How do you feel about online friends? Let me know in the comments!

Featured - Book Spotlight for "A Ghost Walker's Love Story" by Liza O'Connor
Tobias is well aware of the dangers to Ghost Walkers.
He spent 6 months being tortured by a sadist doctor, who wanted to discover how to control a Ghost Walker.
The easiest way to control a ghost walker is to find its body. Most ghost walkers prefer to return to their body each night and if you can capture it in its body, you can become its master.
Tobias’ master tried to make him into an assassin, only Tobias refused. Instead, he used the sadist’s own knowledge to learn how to escape.
About the Book BLURB
Alice is a ghost walker: an ordinary person capable of separating her soul from her body. Unlike her fellow ghost walkers, she uses her ability trying to help protect the world from terrorists and madmen. Finding an FBI agent that she trusts, she supplies the information needed to stop several atrocities from occurring.
She believes she is safe from discovery. However, agent Jack Callaghan finds her with clever sleuthing and romances her with pure intent. Unfortunately, their unexpected union brings wrath down upon them from all sides. Her fellow ghost walkers believe she has betrayed their code of secrecy; the director and fellow agents question Jack’s commitment to the agency, and want Alice brought in so they can discover how she disappears at will. In this maelstrom of betrayals, Alice uncovers the truth about the three men who claim to love her and discovers which one holds true.
Warning: Alice is so dedicated to stopping terrorists that she will let nothing get in her way, not even when she discovers her body is being used against her will. Since she's not in her body when this happens, saving lives remains far more important!

Bomb, he has a bomb!
Just then, the pretty girl’s baseball cap flew off and landed at his feet. He leaned over, picked it up and handed it back to her. In doing so, he momentarily released the cord, but he did not realize his error until her hands gripped his wrists with a strength so powerful that he felt his bones crack like twigs.
His scream of pain and outrage did not mask her scream.
“Bomb! He has a bomb!”
The place fell into chaos. Most of the people scrambled to get away, but a few men nearby came and helped the girl secure him. He ceased to struggle when security arrived. When they couldn’t find any sign of a bomb, they would have to release him and arrest the girl. Even with a broken wrist, if he could tangle the cord around his fingers, he would still be able to detonate the bomb and kill the twenty or so that remained nearby.
He must ignite the bomb before they take away the cursed girl in handcuffs. She could not live after such a betrayal. He had only waited in order to spare her life, and this was his punishment.
He repeated his innocence as the men ripped away his jacket and patted him down, searching for a bomb. Maybe they would pull the string themselves. That would be most ironic.
“He’s clean,” one of the men declared. “False alarm. Let him go, Harry.”
Soon, Mohammed assured himself.
“No, you can’t release him,” the pretty blonde insisted.
“Ma’am, you are in serious trouble already. I suggest you sit down and shut up!” the one in charge yelled. “This man is not carrying explosives of any kind!”
“He has to be! They planned so carefully.” Her pretty eyes focused in on his belly. “His stomach! He was thin yesterday. The explosives are in his stomach.”

New Non-Fiction Release: Why Go Indie?
As some of you may know, I'm a member of The Book Club, an international online group of authors, bloggers and reviewers who support each other, led by Rubina Ramesh. The TBC recently decided to start a new series called Writer's Toolkit, aiming to help aspiring authors who want to go indie or traditionally published authors who want to try self-publishing. I'm proud to announce that I'm part of their project.
I became an indie author in 2014, and I've never regretted that step. With more than 10 books under my belt--and hopefully many more to come--I've always believed in networking with other writers. My booklet with reasons for (and advantages of) self-publishing is Volume 1 in this series. Do check it out!

Sundari Venkatraman is an indie author who has 35 titles (31 books & 4 collections) to her name, all Top 100 Bestsellers on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.
Even as a kid, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome as she grew up reading all the fairy tales she could lay her hands on, Phantom comics, Mandrake comics and the like. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy end.
Soon, into her teens, Sundari switched her attention from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to a local hero and heroine. Her imagination took flight and she always lived in a rosy cocoon of romance over the years.
Then came the writing – a true bolt out of the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

Featured - Book Spotlight for "If You Love Me, I'm Yours" by Lizzie Chantree

Release Date: 9th July 2018
Publisher: Crooked Cat Books.
‘If you love me, I’m yours…’
Maud didn’t mind being boring, not really. She had a sensible job, clothes, and love life… if you counted an overbearing ex who had thanked her, rolled over and was snoring before she even realised he’d begun! She could tolerate not fulfilling her dreams, if her parents would pay her one compliment about the only thing she was passionate about in life: her art.
Dot should have fit in with her flamboyant and slightly eccentric family of talented artists, but somehow, she was an anomaly who couldn’t paint. She tried hard to be part of their world by becoming an art agent extraordinaire, but she dreamed of finding her own voice.
Dot’s brother Nate, a smoulderingly sexy and famous artist, was adored by everyone. His creative talent left them in awe of his ability to capture such passion on canvas. Women worshipped him, and even Dot’s friend Maud flushed and bumped into things when he walked into a room, but a tragic event in his past had left him emotionally and physically scarred, and reluctant to face the world again.
Someone was leaving exquisite little paintings on park benches, with a tag saying, ‘If you love me, I’m yours’. The art was so fresh and cutting-edge, that it generated a media frenzy and a scramble to discover where the mystery artist could be hiding. The revelation of who the prodigious artist was interlinked Maud, Dot and Nate’s lives forever, but their worlds came crashing down.
Were bonds of friendship, love and loyalty strong enough to withstand fame, success and scandal?

Chapter One
Maud closed her eyes and prepared to jump off the emotional cliff she was teetering on the edge of. She shuffled forward until she felt sick with nerves, took a deep calming breath and waited.
‘Oh, Maud...’ her mother sighed. ‘Not again.’
Maud cringed at the familiarity of those words, and in her mind, she stepped off into the void and plunged into the icy darkness without a whimper. In reality, she was still in her lounge, but being around her mother made her feel like an abject failure and the words she uttered sliced through Maud and filled her with doom. Her mum pushed her to the edge of reason on a regular basis. She wished that for once her mother could try harder to be nice. Surely it couldn’t be that difficult to be grateful for the anniversary gift she had been given and to offer a smile, even a fake one, for the sake of her child? It was the same every year and Maud was finally ready to surrender and stop trying so hard to make them understand her and compliment one of her paintings. It was never going to happen, she realised with a heavy heart.
Maud didn’t mind being boring, not really. She had a sensible job, sensible clothes, a sensible love life... if you counted two overbearing exes and a one night stand who had thanked her, rolled over and was snoring before she even realised he had started! She was ok with not fulfilling her dreams or being outrageous and carefree, she just wanted her parents to pay her a compliment, just once, after years of disapproval and disappointment.
Maud knew that as far as her mum was concerned, she was the most amazing parent who encouraged her daughter to have a responsible career until she settled down and found a ‘suitable’ husband. Granted, Maud was a very good, well-liked and adept teacher’s assistant in the local primary school, but every time she pushed against the boundaries set by her parents for their perfect daughter... ‘Oh, Maud!’
It was ridiculous, she was twenty-four, thought Maud. She wished she had a big glass of wine to slug back, but her mother would disapprove of that too, suggest in horror that she was a ‘wino,’ and hand her the number for AA, which she would have readily available in the little brown Filofax she carried everywhere in her patent handbag. The woman was a menace.

Featured - Book Spotlight for "Heathcliff" by Sue Barnard

Release Date: 30 July 2018
Publisher: Crooked Cat Books
“It would degrade me to marry Heathcliff now…”
Cathy’s immortal words from Wuthering Heights change Heathcliff’s life. At just seventeen years of age, heartbroken and penniless, he runs away to face an unknown future.
Three years later, he returns – much improved in manners, appearance, and prosperity.
But what happened during those years? How could he have made his fortune, from nothing? Who might his parents have been? And what fate turned him into literature’s most famous anti-hero?
For almost two centuries, these questions have remained unanswered. Until now…

THE YORKSHIRE MOORS, 1780
Thomas Braithwaite, Coachman
I didn’t see the man at first, in the dark and the rain. It was only when he stepped out into the road, a mere few yards in front of the coach, that I saw him at all. I yelled, “Whoa!” and yanked on the reins to slow the horses down. He must have heard me, because he looked up and tried to jump out of the way, but I felt a thud, and heard a cry of pain.
I pulled the horses to a halt and stepped down from the box seat. That was when the carriage lamp lit up his face, and I got a better look at him.
It was not a comforting sight. He was lying on the ground and his arm was bleeding. He had no coat, his hair and clothes were soaking wet, and the eyes which were staring up at me displayed a wild light which gave him the appearance of a man possessed.
“Is anything the matter, sir?” I ventured to ask – although I knew the answer to this question almost before it had left my lips. Even without the injury to his arm, I could tell that there was clearly something very much the matter. No man in his right mind would be wandering across the moors, coatless and hatless, on a wet and blustery night such as this.
He stared at me and staggered to his feet, all the while muttering under his breath. As he drew nearer I could hear that he was making the same sound over and over again. But it made no sense. It sounded like “Degrade… degrade… degrade…”
I walked towards him, extending my hand.
“Sir, you are injured, and it is not good to be out in this foul weather. Please, will you allow me to transport you to your home?”
“Home?” he snarled, baring his teeth. “I have no home. Not now.”
I was anxious to know what had brought him hither, in a temper which so strongly matched the tempest around us – but this was neither the time nor the place to ask. Instead, I hastily tied my kerchief around the wound in his arm, then gestured towards the coach and offered to transport him to the nearby inn which was to be the coach’s destination for the night.
He appeared to consider this for a moment, then shrugged his thick-set shoulders and gave a barely perceptible nod.
I opened the coach door and motioned him to climb aboard. As he entered, I heard various words from the other passengers within, but could not make out what was being said. I closed the door behind him, climbed back into the box seat and tugged on the reins. The horses broke into a canter as we covered the remaining few miles to the inn.
I was troubled. Who was this mysterious stranger, and what was he fleeing from?
