The Devil You Know~ Review and Giveaway
J.M. Gregoire
Demon Legacy #1

Synopsis
Deziree Davanzatti is a thief by trade and to keep herself occupied between jobs, she owns and operates Onyx, a trendy nightclub for the supernatural citizens of New York City.
What else would a 400-something year old demon-human hybrid do with her spare time?
Following a drunken night of questionable decisions, the vampire Michael “Vegas” Tremayne leaves town with no explanation. Dez is left wondering if they made a mistake and if it cost her a price she wasn’t willing to pay – her best friend and confidant.
When he returns after two weeks of no contact, he comes bearing grave news that could potentially change the world forever….or end it all together. To make matters worse, they suspect that someone they know may be behind it all.
An extremely dangerous chain of events has been set in motion and it is up to Dez and Vegas, with the help of his brother Lucas, to find a way to stop it.
From the author of Burning, the short story prequel, comes The Devil You Know, the first full length novel in the Demon Legacy series by J.M. Gregoire.

Review
After a night of drunken sex with his best friend Dez, Vegas hops on a plane for a job but never tells Dez what’s up. So she has the great experience of waking up to an empty bed. Personally, I’d kick him in the balls the next time I saw him but Dez is nicer than I am and forgives him. Then again he is a walking, talking, blood sucking sexy vampire so I won’t hold it against her. He had a reason after all and shit is about to get real. Demons have found a way out of hell and into their realm. This is obviously a big issue because they already have one dead witch (from Burning, the prequel, which is in the beginning of this book so you don’t have a reason not to read it) and the body count will only grow.
4 stars

Burning ~ Review & Giveaway
0.5 in the Demon Legacy series
By J.M. Gregoire

Lucas was a typical playboy – lots of alcohol and a different girl every night. One woman brought his emotional walls and the beliefs he used to build them crumbling to the ground. Now, an unexpected visitor is going to change both their worlds forever. Burning is the short story lead-in to the upcoming Demon Legacy series by J.M. Gregoire.
Review
If you just want a taste into The Demon Legacy series then you have come to the right book. Burning is a quick read (no joke it’s like 13 pages on my nook) and introduces the world and its creatures. It seems we have witches, vampires, and of course demons. This little story will not leave you with butterflies of “Awww they made it against all odds.” Nope. There is not HEA in this story but that’s ok because revenge is so much sweeter.
I have not read the rest of the series yet but will be doing so this month. So check back for the reviews. This is a short review because it was a short story.
I typically don’t go for things that are that quick of a read. I’m giving it 3.75 stars (weird I know) but I don’t know how to grade something that wasn’t a novella or novel length. It was definitely higher than a 3.5 but not quite a 4 because I wanted more bulk to the story. So 3.75 stars it is.

Unscripted~ Cover Reveal & Giveaway

Unscripted (The Scripted Series #1)
by Christy Pastore
Genre : Erotica Romance
Publication Date : December 9, 2014
Cover Design : Mayhem Cover Creations

Synopsis
“His gaze on me was intense, I couldn’t look away. I felt as if I was revealing my entire soul to him in this moment.”
The range of emotions I had experienced with Ronan felt like a topsy-turvy spinning roller coaster. Suddenly I was awake for the first time in what felt like years. Every fiber of my being was filled with heated desire, passion, lust and fear, and all I wanted was more… more of everything, more of him. How had I just lived these past few years only going through the motions? But, as glorious as all of this was, was I kidding myself? Could it be real? Or just a moment in time – a few days of thrilling and scary excitement rolled into one? The moment before you hit that first big drop on your favorite coaster, you fall, and then it’s over.
This isn’t your typical Hollywood fairy tale where the typecast ordinary girl next door meets the famous handsome actor and they fall in love. Despite the emotional and physical scars that serve as reminders of Holliday Prescott’s past, she has evolved into a strong young woman. Ronan Connolly has loved and lost, but he’s never been in love. The weight of Hollywood’s expectations and the scripted games people play have left him bruised but not broken.
He’s always followed everyone else’s script and she wrote her own. That was until fate swept in with other plans.
MATURE CONTENT
This story contains sexually explicit material and is intended for mature individuals over the age of eighteen.

Harley Quinn Costume
Alright guys, this is the long awaited Halloween post.
As some of you have seen on my facebook, I am going as Harley Quinn as part of Team Villains in the road rally I am participating in. Our team consists of Harley Quinn (me!), The Joke (my boyfriend,) Chucky and the Bride of Chucky, Freddy and Jason. A road rally is a glorified scavenger hunt that usually involves alcohol. Last year we were Team Toy Story and we had a blast.
Now Harley Quinn has a lot of different looks…
Personally, I like the classic Harley from Batman the animated series. However, there is no way I am getting into a cat suit. Not many can pull off that look well. So my costume is based on classic Harley Quinn but with modifications.
The Dress
I made it. *beams with pride* After searching (and failing) for a dress pattern, I decided to make my own. I grabbed one of my favorite dresses (a simple skater dress with a high waist) and traced the lines of it onto some paper. Making the dress wasn’t going to be difficult, it was the color blocking that would give me a headache.
It worked out well though. Some of my lines don’t meet up exactly but I doubt anyone is going to notice that much.
The Cuffs
Yeah, those giant cuffs and neck thing with the pompoms wasn’t going to happen. So in my search for a less obnoxious cuff, I discovered paracord. Super cheap and works well for the look I’m trying for. The bracelet making was easy, but then again you are talking to the girl who lived for making “friendship bracelets” made with embroidery floss as a kid.
The Mask
I was going to buy one but then I found a video (thank you youtube) for making your own mask with liquid latex. It took me a day of painting and two tries but I finally got it. I look forward to using my new mask making skills in the future.

Everything else
I bought the gloves and knee high socks. Spirit sells single gloves so I got one red and one black. I got the socks from Hot Topic.
Makeup
This might be my favorite part. Once again YouTube showed me the way. It was all fairly simple but I also have years of dance under my belt so heavy makeup is not hard to do. The picture below is my trial run.
So I’m set for halloween and any comic convention I go to. I would be happy to provide more detailed instructions to anything that I did. So, you’ve seen mine. Now show me your costumes. (Or tell me, I’m not picky.)

NaNo musings
So NaNo is upon us. This year, I just don’t know if it is going to happen. I have created a novel on my NaNo account and I have written a basic outline (that still needs typed up.) I just don’t know how far I will get this year. This semester’s workload is heavy and my job has not calmed down for the season yet. I might be able to stumble along if it was just those two things but I also have one book in the final editing stage, one book just starting the editing (that’s a lie I have three chapters left to write THEN it is in editing,) and I’m going to be going to Florida mid-November for a nice long weekend away.
The fates have lined up a bunch of obstacles against me. I will however, do my best. I already have one of the secondary character’s scenes thoroughly outlined (in my head but it counts!) I just need to flesh out the outline for everyone else.
Oh and this is Smolder I’m talking about. This will be the final book for Hailey and Dak.
So wish me luck and feel free to poke me if I start slacking.
In other news…
My boyfriend and I are FINALLY moving in together. But that’s not all. Oh no. We are taking it one step further and are buying a house. The pre-approval just came through a day ago and we already have showings at a few houses.
AND
This weekend is Halloween parties galore! Woop! Be sure to come back Monday to see my blog post on my handmade Harley Quinn costume.
Have a great weekend!

Excerpt
I turned quickly in the direction of the voice. Standing there in all of his glory and entourage was Patrick Malloy. His grey shirt had the top two buttons undone and his blazer matched his pants. His hair was in this incredible disarray, on any other man it would have looked unkempt, but on him, it was sexy. His eyes, however, were black and his face was absent of emotion. The room seemed to grow very quiet as he waited for Kevin to answer his question. He then turned his attention to me.
“Legs, care to elaborate?”
I didn’t know if it was the alcohol or because I was really pissed that Kevin was taking up air at the moment, but the fact that he couldn’t say my name really pissed me the fuck off.
“Okay, first of all, my name is not Legs, it’s Christi. That shit just pisses me off to no end. I have a fucking name, Patrick, and I’d appreciate it if you’d fucking use it when you address me.”
The look on his face changed as I proceeded to stick my finger in his face, well more like his chest as he was considerable taller than myself. I watched as a tiny smirk began to form at the corner of his mouth.
I didn’t let him speak as I continued my word vomit.
“This waste of fucking skin here is the father of my beautiful niece, Abigail, and the fucker knows it, too. He hasn’t seen her in years and he refuses to pay one goddamn dime of court-ordered child support. So yes, Mr. Malloy, you have a low-life motherfucking dead-beat father working for you.”
His expression changed from the cocky smirk to now one of anger. I should have been afraid of this quick change, but in reality, I was starting to get turned on.
