The scales: Drawing Dragons Day 226

“He’s okay,” My seven-year old said.

Maybe it was because he couldn’t see the myriad flaws hiding behind those scales, the intricate lacework covering the crooked lines. He didn’t understand how this little dragon had risen from his infancy as the shapes piled upon themselves, over and over again. He didn’t understand the beauty. But he knows one thing: that dragon is okay and that’s good enough.
