Weekly Writing Update
Weekly Writing Update:Hey, look at me, posting two weeks in a row. Yay!1. I have managed to get a little writing done this week. The alien piece is at nearly 40,000 words, though I still don’t have a title.2. While working on the alien piece, I had an idea for a sequel to Alone. As most of you know, I’ve had a hard time getting that novel going. Everything I’ve started has been crap. This might not be any better, but I like where I’m going right now. 3. I haven’t heard from my editor or the cover artist about Shore Haven, so I don’t have any news for you on that end.4. Awake is nearly ready for editing. I just have a few kinks to work out with the last few chapters.5. I haven’t worked on Fated at all. Sorry. I know a lot of you have been looking forward to the sequel to Marked.My FIL is still bed bound. He has a bulging disc in his back and a pinched nerve, which we knew about a few years ago, but after a month or so in bed and a few shots he was fine until recently. We did manage to him to a bone and joint doctor last week. They did an x-ray, and it was fine, so we go for an MRI tomorrow. The doctor gave him pain meds, and we think they are helping, but he’s still unwilling to get out of bed. Dementia has made this worse than it is, and I fear if things go on for too much longer, he’ll forget that he could even get out of bed. Pray for him and me and our family. On top of all of this, my MIL is having a second MRI done today. Her last one showed that she was having mini-strokes. In a lot of ways, her memory is worse than my FIL’s. Okay so these aren't coming weekly, but I'm going to keep calling them that anyway. LOL
1. I've been talking to a cover artist about Shore Haven's cover. Yay. I probably won't show it to you guys for a few more months once I get, but it is in progress.
2. The new alien piece was coming along nicely, but then shit hit the fan here. My FIL has been bed-ridden for three weeks now, and carrying for a dementia patient who is bedridden is a lot harder than carrying for one who can get up and shower or potty or get something to drink or snack on without too much trouble, not that taking care of a mobile one was a breeze, let me tell you. Don't get me wrong. I love him and I'll do this for the rest of his life, but it is hard and keeps me away from my writing and you guys more than I would like.
3. I have been productive with Awake edits. I've pushed the novel over 100,000 words, so I'll be giving it a new read through after this to see if the length is needed.
4. Thank you all who participated in Outcast's Aniversary Party. All prizes have been sent. Those of you expecting stuff via mail, keep your eyes out. :) :)
4. Fated is on hold for awhile. I hate doing because I'm so close to finishing the first draft but, I have no choice.
