Robin Leigh Anderson was born in the Montana Rockies and escaped to California in the early 1970s. She attended school in Montana, Washington State, and California, eventually settling in beautiful Santa Barbara with child and cats where she lived for 38 years before escaping sans grown child and late cats to Northern California. An advocate of reinventing oneself, Ms. Anderson dabbled in many of the major disciplines of life, providing fodder for the writing she pursued since she was eight. She has won numerous awards at writing conferences over the years, and was staff of the prestigious Santa Barbara Writer Conference for ten years. She has published numerous articles and short stories in her lifetime. She taught “crash-and-burn” intensive writing seminars in Santa Barbara and was the moderator of a writers’ critique group. She still conducts occasional seminars and enjoys editing others’ works, words being her all-consuming passion, as she writes in several genres.

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having a great weekend. I’m sorry I haven’t been around these last few months, but my life has been a bit hectic. I’m trying to get it back on track, so I figured I would try jumping in this week. Thank you for stopping by my post on the Snippet Sunday blog hop. This comes after Danielle's wedding. Leigh has just woken up from nap she decided to take after dealing with her family and the Pack during the wedding. The room service lady has just knocked on the door.---The woman stared back for a long moment, then said unsurely, “Room service?”Shaking my head, I said, “Nope, sorry, I didn’t order anything. Someone must have given you the wrong room number.”The woman looked down at the note in her hand, then up to the number on the door. She shook her head and reached for her cell phone to presumably call the kitchen. At the same time, she started slowly backing away from my room. Watching the mountain of food move further down the hall away from me, leaving behind the most succulent of aromas, I thought seriously about stopping her and taking the food anyway, then the image of myself stuffing my face to the point of making myself sick in an attempt to soothe the anger and sadness that was burrowing a hole in me angered me and I started to slam the door shut.“Wait. Sorry,” a male voice called from the other end of the hall. Both the woman and I turned to see a hunk of a man walking quickly toward us. I recognized him at once as Ryan.---That’s it for today. #WIP IT UP WEDNESDAY Excerpt from Outcast, Supernaturals Book 2
Welcome to my post on WIP IT UP WEDNESDAY blog hop. Ladies, I’m so sorry that I haven’t been around for the last month or so. I have had bit of hectic few weeks. This scene takes us back to the chapel. The wedding is over and the guests are heading to the reception area. The family and wedding party have stayed behind for pictures.---I stepped off the stage the moment the guests started to leave out with the intent of catching Leigh before she could leave. To my surprise, she didn’t immediately flee the room. She had remained seated with her eyes downcast to allow everyone else to file past her out the door. Her cowering demeanor told me that she was trying desperately to hide from the other guests.I reached her as the last few people on her side of the chapel left and she stood. She didn’t see me and was shocked when I blocked her path. She nearly ran into me, then almost fell over a pew when she backed up too far to avoid me.“I’m so sorry,” I said, grabbing her arm to steady her and ignoring the energy passing between us where our bodies touched.“No, I’m sorry. I didn’t see you,” she said, righting herself without touching me. When she looked up to truly see me, she sucked in a breath. I had to stop startling her.We stared at each other for a long moment before she asked, “Did you need something?”“I was coming to escort you to the stage for pictures.”“Oh…I… I’m not… They don’t…” Her stammering for words was both heartbreaking and adorable.“You’re Danielle’s sister, are you not?” Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Danielle and Dave entering the silent room and looking around for the source of everyone’s discomfort. The second Danielle saw me with her sister a light filled her eyes. She gripped Dave’s hand tightly and pulled him toward us. They only made it a few steps before her father cleared his throat. Danielle glared at him and continued walking.Not noticing or pretending not to notice any of this, Leigh nodded her head slightly, and said, “But I’m not part of the wedding party, and I don’t think I’m wanted.”“I wa…” I started to say, but Danielle interrupted me.“I want you,” she said. “I did ask for all immediate family, and you’re my sister.” She said the last bit loud enough that it reverberated in the small room. “Ryan, please bring my sister with you. I’m getting hungry and would like to get these pictures out of the way.”Mr. Alexander along with Mr. Carmichael, Martin, and a few others walked toward Dave and Danielle. Dave wrapped his arms around his wife in protection, but the stance she took said that she didn’t need it.“I should leave,” Leigh said to me in a low voice, watching the coming confrontation.“No,” I said and wrapped my arm around her just as Dave had done Danielle and started toward the stage. Subconsciously, she leaned into me, and I could feel her heart beating too fast. She was seconds away from a panic attack. “I’ve got you,” I said into her ear. The wolf inside me demanded I kiss behind that ear, to nibble the bare neck below it, to swoop her up and carry her away from the people who had the potential to harm her.---That’s it for today. He paid the man and gave his little girl the treat, then walked her over to a bench.
She was busy working on the wrapper; as intent on it as a bomb expert trying to un-wrap a potentially highly explosive package.
Mark said, “Honey, wanna play a game with daddy?”
She looked up, one eye still intent on her ice-cream bar. “Sure! What kind of game?”
He smiled down to her and ruffled her hair, mussing it up a bit, “Hide and seek.”
Steve Soderquist started writing when he was seventeen. He left that to become a successful musician, spending many years on the road with numerous bands. He came off the road to have a ‘normal life’, but found the writing bug hadn’t left him.
He wrote a novella One for the Road and knew he had to keep going. There was so much he felt compelled to put on paper. Steve went on to pen the horror novel Farm House, When it was complete and those blessed two words ‘THE END’ were put down, he knew he’d come full circle and found his calling. Farm House had originally been publishing it with a company that has since closed their doors.
Steve’s always been an avid reader with an eclectic mix of favorite authors: Stephen King, V.C. Andrews, Jules Verne, J.R.R. Tolkien, James Clavell...so many. It’s his belief reading different genres, has enriched him as an author.
Now, as a full-time published author, Steve’s not through with some of the characters he introduced in his first two books. In addition to his first two works, he's completed and released Seeds, co-authoredRogue and has just finished Jessica, due out by year end. He has numerous other books at various stages of completion. Although he is a master at horror/thriller, he will tell you he doesn’t write genres, he writes books.
This year he became the co-owner of Foundations, LLC publishing company. As an author, he saw the need in the publishing world to help author's learn how to promote and sell their work. Instead of complaining about it, he's doing something about it. It's because of this, he's seeing his dilegent efforts pay off in the success of his company, proving there was a great need out there for authors to have a publisher show them the ropes.
