Freighter Flights – for when you’re in the mood for Sci-Fi smut

A while ago I wrote a post about my favourite re-reads and one of the books I listed was Freighter Flights by Drew Zachary. Since I wrote that post I’ve been thinking about that book, so now I re-read it for…I think maybe the fourth time.

The funny thing is, it’s not the best book I’ve ever read, not by a long shot. It’s smut through and through, and they just happen to be in space while it happens. I can’t label it as anything other sci-fi, but the plot isn’t sci-fi-y at all.

Will is the pil...

Throwback Thursday | Blood on Sand

Last year, I had this idea that I would write a post about one of my backlist books now and then – it didn’t really turn out that way. My own fault. I’m a sucker for deadlines, and I can colour code my life like a madwoman (a sign I really am a madwoman, I’ve been told) but when it came to this I didn’t set up a schedule, so it never happened.

Therefore I’m making a commitment. During 2019 I will post a little something about a story I’ve written, and I will do it once a month. We’re talking...

A Case of Possession

I read just about everything, or I like to believe that I do, but it’s not true. I don’t read books with religious themes if I can help it, I don’t read YA/NA if I can avoid it, I don’t read menage unless I’m in a reading challenge that demands it, and I hardly ever read historicals.

But, there is always a but, isn’t there? I do love some of the YA/NA books I’ve read, I have a few (very few but they exist) religious-themed books that I’ve really enjoyed, and some of my favourite books are his...

Change of Heart – For When You Want to Curl up With a Werepanther

First post of the year! It should probably have been about the year that has past and what my hopes and dreams are for 2019, but I’ve just listened to Change of Heart by Mary Calmes. I read this back in 2014, and I remember being a little uncomfortable, but now I saw it as an audiobook in the library catalogue, one of very few M/M books available, and I figured I can ‘re-read’ just for the fun of it.

I’m torn. I like Mary Calmes, I’ve read many Mary Calmes books throughout the years, and you...

Up!

We have time for one last story before Christmas, have we not? I was gonna write this post yesterday on the release day, but I got a niece (!), so for once reading or writing wasn’t on my mind.

Up! is a delightful story by Claire Davis and Al Stewart and if you’ve read this duo before you know what to expect language-wise. I just love their voice, the poetic, almost dreamy way they tell a tale.

Luke struggles with his mental health, he observes life through his window, afraid to take part in...

My True Love Gave to Me

I’m not one to read many historical stories, some I do read of course, but I often dismiss a story when I see that it’s a historical one. I don’t really know why, but I do. So it gladdens me to say I read a historical and I liked it LOL.

My Ture Love Gave to Me by Ava March. I was sure I’d read Ava March before this, but I haven’t marked any of her books as read, so I guess maybe I haven’t.

But, back to this story. Alexander hates Christmas because it reminds him of how Thomas, his one true l...

Lone Star – A Christmas Story

I just finished reading Lone Star by Josh Lanyon, while having a cup a glögg (that’s sort of like mulled wine, I think…never had mulled wine, but it’s what I’ve heard), and now I’m in an ‘aww-state’.

This was super sweet, not the kind of super sweet I consider too sweet, but you know, sweet. Mitch left home twelve years ago when his boyfriend, Web, didn’t want to come out. Mitch came out anyway and his father kicked him out for it. Now, he’s a famous dancer, his father is gone without Mitch e...

Teaser Tuesday | Eight Feet of Magic

Remember how I said I’d do Teaser Tuesday posts now and then and then never did? Well, I am doing it now. I figured since it’s the time for holiday reads I’d post something about Eight Feet of Magic.

Eight Feet of Magic might be the story I had the most fun writing, maybe. I can’t recall what gave me the idea really, but sometimes I just want to do crazy. I have this need of breaking away from ‘normal’ characters and let them run wild LOL.

When that happens we either end up with characters li...

Mistletoe at Midnight

I’m starting December with another Christmas story! Today we have Mistletoe at Midnight by L.B. Gregg. This was such a delight to read.

Owen McKenzie is about the spend the Christmas with his family – his crazy, meddling family. His mother is constantly trying to fix him up with someone and it turns out she invited Owen’s ex this time around. His father doesn’t look well. And his younger brother is up to no good, as usual.

But not only does Owen have to put up with having his ex there, for so...

Ugly Christmas Sweater

So I’ve started reading Christmas stories, apparently. Ugly Christmas Sweater by Tara Harris. I haven’t read anything by Tara Harris before, but the title snagged my attention LOL.

Joel is a shy, quiet guy who’s had a crush on his friend Nick for ages so when Nick calls him and asks him to come to a mutual friend’s Christmas party Joel says yes. On the way there, he learns that it’s an ugly Christmas sweater party but not worry, Nick has a sweater for him.

This is a cute, funny, friends to lo...
