You may have heard that a week after adding 795 titles in a deal with Mason Crest, Start Publishing has acquired Whiskey Creek Press and its main romance imprint, Torrid. The purchase includes 775 titles, all available as e-books with some also released in print editions through print-on demand.
With its purchase, Start said it will beef up WCP’s marketing initiatives, including expanding its social media and online presence. Start has also promoted Jan Janssen from executive editor to publisher of Torrid Books. In other personnel changes, Melanie Billings and Marsha Briscoe are now senior acquisition editors for WCP and Angela Archer is senior art director.
I’m honoured my contemporary romantic suspense, A KEY TO ALL THAT GLITTERS, is among the titles chosen by Start Publishing. Cover artist, Ginger Heaston, and editor, Melanie Billings, understood heroine Heatherlee Baranova’s dilemma. Balancing her yoga spa and raising twins, the young widow is slammed by her late husband’s sketchy past. His partner, a female ex-con, demands a key to a safe deposit box. Heatherlee knows nothing about it. When her spa Clearwater is robbed, the police investigation is headed up by Sheriff Marc Durant, a sheep rancher from the silkiest gentry in town. The last thing she wants is for him to prove dirty money built Clearwater. Marc knows her problems with a Russian theft ring will escalate beyond bad press and the spa’s bottom line. What he doesn’t know is the former wallflower married her husband because he looked like him!

Make Handicrafts– for fun
This afternoon I’m bring a meal to my friend J.G. who is receiving visitors at her condo this afternoon. She suffered a second stroke but is doing amazingly well, the trooper that she is. Along with a baked chicken, potato, in-season fruit salad dinner, I crafted vase (made from a drinking glass) and wrapped with rosemary and bay leaf sprigs, secured with twine. I cut the stems of flowers so that blooms stand just above the vase. This table arrangement spices up a room with fresh aromas.
The character is a new book I’m writing is going to make these in the next chapter!

Today I’m spotlighting FIND ME MAGGIE, the third novella of author Beth Yarnall’s humorous, sexy mystery series, The Misadventures of Maggie Mae.
Learn more about Beth and her books at: http://www.bethyarnall.com/
When the story begins, Maggie Mae Castro is with Clive Poole, the FBI agent who’d once served as her bodyguard. Having observed her under stress, Clive trusts beautiful-wild-and-crazy Mae to do the right thing. Her talent of helping the FBI capture most wanted fugitives is somewhat tainted for two reasons. Until Clive, her past boyfriends were criminals. In addition, Maggie sidesteps the law in order to accomplish a goal. Maggie and Clive are about to have a magic moment when a phone call interrupts them. Maggie’s twin brother, Miguel, is missing. The book’s title, FIND ME MAGGIE, reflects her sixth’s sense as his twin, to know Miguel is in danger.
Maggie snaps to it, and Clive gives her his full support. She doesn’t come entirely clean with him because Miguel’s business partner, Russian mobster Sergei, was one of her former lovers. The caper is non-stop fun and action penned by talented author Beth Yarnall. Maggie says, “I’d left my cell phone at home on purpose. Mostly because I didn’t put it past him to use his FBI-Special_Agent skills to track me like the dog I was.” I am a huge fan of an author who makes me laugh with every turn of a page. I highly recommend FIND ME MAGGIE.

Do you enjoy the taste of creamy herb French cheeses on pear and apple slices? Soft cheese, whether from goats, sheep, cows, or soybeans, forms a perfect partnership with countless herb mixtures, both savory and sweet. Making your own cuts money and calories. Today I used fat free cream cheese at 14 calories per tablespoon and added minced basil, sun-dried tomatoes, chives, and lemon zest. Using 8 ounces of fat free cream cheese and the fore-mentioned ingredients, I shaped it into a disk about and inch high and 3 inches across. Covered on a plate, I will chill and serve as an appetizer.

Today I’m doing an author spotlight on Vivek Rajan Vivek’s YOU AND YOUR DODOISMS. His amazing book is better than any inspirational guide I’ve read in the past decade. I am not the only reviewer who agrees with endorsers Brian Tracy and T Hav Eker. This gem is available now for 57% off on Amazon, and I recommend grabbing this top seller. Here is my review below:
DODOISM will reset your mind with inspiration.
The format of Vilek’s fun-to-read guide is a conference where the reader identifies with attendees stuck in their upside-down worlds. Many are “mesmerized by shimmering dazzling mirages” (Vilek’s words) of material success and don’t work on their own gifts. Conference goers want a calm and stress-free existence, both materially and spiritually, and begin to recognize the value of living in the present. Past memories bringing guilt and future worries slow fulfillment. Simply by slowing down and breathing regularly, we avoid “knee jerk” reactions. Knowing a centered poised mind is a more valuable product than constraints dictated to us, we accept every success with gratitude. “Actionless action” is a term Vilek created. Actionless is the absence of negative mind chatter, and action comes from genuine inspiration to complete a task. Action flows, and bliss follows when the task is completed.
I liked the author’s scientific explanation of energy-resistance levels. Persons can raise or lower resistance. Excessive behavior, even when pleasurable, can make humans act like dodos. The poor birds couldn’t fly when hunters came. An example of a “dodoism” might be fasting or vegetarianism as ends in themselves. These persons can also kill, loot, and plunder.
After reading DODOISM, I guarantee a reader will think less about all worries including death which is explained as a different state of life. Nothing can kill us, Vilek writes, and any reader’s heart will be lifted. I highly recommend DODISM as a path to growth and contentment.

People Appreciation
Personalities of the company we keep are contagious. Emotions are infectious, and we can “catch” good feelings. According to researcher Travis Stork, MD, and Rachael Ross, MD, moods and behaviors spread from person to person. Their studies show that traits and choices of our friends and acquaintances have a powerful effect on ours. With that in mind, today I am attending RWA-OCC. When spending the day with other professional and motivated writers, I get a boost that will last through the evening and beyond.
