DIY Infused Oil

I touched on infusing oil in my DIY Lip Balm post a while back, but I love doing it, so I thought I would do a deeper dive.
Infusing oils is part cooking, part chemistry, part skincare. Which are the three reasons I love it.
First, there are three methods you can use to infuse oils, but one requires alcohol and I'm not going to get into that here. The other two are the heat-infusion method and the slow-infusion method.
The heat-infusion method is easy and can be done in just a couple hours, which m...

DIY Perfume Two Ways

Lip balm is not my only beauty problem. I also love perfume. I love going through a store sniffing new ones. I love using it. I love when someone walks by wearing a good one, or recognizing one I love on someone else. I love everything about it.
That being said, I'm cheap. Cheap as fuck. And I love natural skincare and scents, so when I learned that perfumes can have all sorts of nasties in them, I wanted to make a change in my life.
So I did.
I like spray perfumes, but they're mostly some form of ...

DIY Natural Lip Balm
I have a problem. I've had it for years, and am one of those people who has to have the focus of the problem on me at all times. My name is Sarah and I have a lip balm problem.
It's such a well-known thing that my sister even gave me an enormous stick of lip balm as a gag last year for Christmas.
I've tried to stop, but my lips dry out so badly they crack and peel and it hurts to talk and smile. Ya girl's a talker, and I love to laugh, so that won't fly.No affiliate links in this post, just stu...

Into the Unknown: Timmothy Pitzen

The saga of Timmothy Pitzen's disappearance has fascinated people since the day it began. The furtive way his mother, Amy, collected him from school, the clandestine vacation she took him on through southern Wisconsin, and her suicide in a hotel room are all fuel for wild theories, and that's without mentioning her cryptic suicide note.
I've slipped into hyperbole here, but only a little. This story is intense.
Some of the content in this post may disturb or upset sensitive readers.
As this post...

Into the Unknown: Ireland's Vanishing Triangle Part Two

Last week, I published the first part of this massive two-part post, which included the profiles of eight young women who vanished from an area of Ireland surrounding Dublin in the 1990s. This week, we're going to dig into the police investigation into those disappearances and the aftermath of so many mysterious cases.
This case has been devastating, both to the families of the missing and the police who have investigated them. I'll never forget these women, and hopefully now, neither will...

Into the Unknown: Ireland's Vanishing Triangle Part One

I'm back! I needed something to do while self-isolating, and what's better to kill time and still be useful than research? Nothing, that's what. Anyway. Let's get into the case.
Ireland has, in the last thirty years, become a go-to destination for weddings, honeymoons, and other vacations, and is home to just shy of 5 million people. The land, which has been inhabited since Neolithic times, has a long and storied history. With a lower crime rate, it's generally seen as a safe country to visit....

Taking a Break Part 2: Thank You

In about a 24 hour period at the end of October, I decided to change my whole life. I am preparing to go to college, with the goal of eventually becoming a registered nurse. In order to make this happen, I have made a tough decision. I will be removing my books from Amazon at the end of this month. All my books will go on sale one last time for 99c US / 99p UK starting on November 23rd, through November 30th, when I will take them down. This website will stay up until early November...
