Out and About at Other Worlds of Romance

Another fun interview went off without a hitch due to Linda. If you read the earlier post, you heard about the word on the street that there is a new man in my life--the dark-haird archmage, Lord Dal of Windmaster Legacy. And the reason? The other times I visited with Linda Mooney on her program, Other Worlds of Romance, the story I read centered around the women in the books. Anastasia of Clan Miller and Ellspeth of Sea Falcon. Last night, the dark-haired Archmage Lord Dal took center stage. To hear a reprise of the talk (and it was fun), follow the link. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/other_worlds_of_romance/2012/06/05/helen-henderson-is-my-guest-author-on-june-4th

As a man, Dal might be able to live with the knowledge he caused the death of a loved one. But as archmage, can he survive killing the future of magic? Ebook from BurstBooks.ca / OmniLit / Amazon.com. And for an excerpt of Windmaster Legacy can be found here.

Enjoy. Helen

Almost Top 10 - Flying with A Dragon

Available from Burst Books.caJust had a surprise. While googling myself (not for vanity, but to to track sales sites and references to my books, I discovered when Dragon Destiny was released, it just missed being in the top 10 of Amazon’s ‘Hot New Releases’ list. Dragon Destiny, the story of Anastasia of Clan Miller and Lord Branin Llewlyn premiered at 11. And now a month later, it is still within the top 50.

Thanks everyone for making such a thing possible. Now I’ll have to pay attention when Windmaster Legacy is released today. Maybe lightning will strike twice.

Out and About - At Long and Short Reviews and a Visit with A Dragon

It’s been a busy week with release events for Dragon Destiny. I feel like I made the big-time with an interview at Long and Short Reviews. Leave a comment on the site to be entered in their monthly contest. A second interview, one where I asked the questions rather than answering them was unique. My planned interview was with Lord Branin. I knew I was in trouble with an amber dragon contacted me. Stop by the MFRW Blog to see what Llewlyn, Branin’s dragon soul twin, said about being a dragon and what he's learned from his human soul brother.

In Honor of Mother's Day - Strong Women Celebrated in Dreamspell Goddess

Mother’s Day seemed an appropriate time to post about the tales of strong women in the multi-genre anthology Dreamspell Goddess from the Texas-basesd publisher, L&L Dreamspell. The Dreamspell Goddess Anthology showcases ten writers.
Writing as Jessie Treon, Ambush Luck is one of the ten tales of strong women selected by L&L Dreamspell for the anthology. Westerns, paranormal, romance, science fiction and fantasy are all represented in the works of the talented authors. Crossing genres, the historical western joins my fantasy novels Dragon Destiny and Windmaster (from Burst Books). A common theme between the three is strong women who are leaders, have strong sense of honor and duty. And the last commonality, at least one character in each of the works is based on one of my ancestresses’.
The premise of Ambush Luck reflects a new twist on the traditional gunslinger tale. Married and happy in her life as wife and mother, Helen Rawlings thought she had put her past as a fast gun behind her. Her peaceful life ends when a gang kills one of her adopted sons, and tries to eliminate the only witness - her other son, Josh. Helen risks everything to once again become the notorious Hell Lost, gunslinger and defender of the righteous, and confronts those threatening her family. If she survives, she would be faced with the biggest crisis of all, rejecting the lure of the adventure of the high mountain trails to let her past disappear once again.

Among the other works in the anthology are Melina’s Moonlight Magic by Linda Houle. In, I Was Helen of Troy V. Dianne Lawson explains the tricks memory can play, especially if you are remembering an event through the eyes of multiple memories from multiple past lives. Lawson ventured to the outer space with the Lost Planet of Homely Women. Jaycee Stevens learns in  Heart’s Tempest by Joyce Scarbrough that she is a lot tougher than she really is.

Cornelia Amiri contributed the paranormal romance, "Rhiannon". Other stories are My Dinner with Andrew and his Lovely Wife, Sheila by David Fingerman and The Old Man Sang the Blues by David W. Landrum. Suspense and murder mingle in Hiram’s Rock by Jodi Diderrich and Finding the One by Steven Shrott.
Dreamspell Goddess is available in print and ebook at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The ebook can also be found at AllRomance/OmniLit and other online bookstores.

Celebrate Mother’s Day by forming a memory.

Characters on the Loose - Anastasia and Dragon Destiny

A goal of every writer is to make their characters real. Sometimes their creations take on a life of their own and the author loses control. Case in point, Anastasia of Clan Miller (pictured) took time off from her kin’s trading caravan to talk to Karenna Colcroft. The interview is at http://karennacolcroft.com/special-guests-helen-henderson-and-anastasia.

Stop by and hear what Anastasia says about Lord Branin Llewlyn. Who knows, he might even make an appearance. For hundreds of years, dragshi lord Branin and his dragon soul twin Llewlyn searched for their intended mates. The red-haired firebrand of Ky'Port, Broch, vowed to marry the dragon lord, with or without his willing cooperation. Everything changed the day a wistful thought touched his. Dragon Destiny - Coming May 2012 from Burst Book.
