Video Presentation on Copyright Law (50 minutes)

I have been porting my legal studies lectures to an online format for this semester since the COVID-19 lockdown in New York State prevented my university from reopening after the spring break. As a fun project and break from my real work of teaching, research and writing, I decided to create a lecture on  copyright law based on two of my intellectual property books intended for a general audience.

You can click on the above image to view the lecture which runs approximately 50 minutes. If you w...

Convocation to Install New Distinguished Professors at Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business Announced

The announcement was sent out yesterday for the convocation installing the new distinguished professors in Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business. I so wish I could invite my mom and dad to attend, though I know they will be there in spirit as they are always with me. It will be a bittersweet day for me as my unsung heroes never received their due acknowledgment in life and I have had more than my fair share of acknowledgment for little more than doing my job. I am nothing. The...

Recent television interview by ABC7 (Washington, D.C. ABC News affiliate)

Gene Maccarrone, my friend and the co-author of several articles, and I were interviewed recently by Lisa Fletcher, senior investigative reporter for the Washington D.C. ABC television affiliate as part of her investigative report on the use of traffic cameras in Washington, D.C. She reached out to us after reading one of our articles on traffic enforcement by camera in her research. Reports that aired earlier this week feature some of my comments. You can find a link to the video that as air...

Poignant video of a young chimp reunited with his human foster parents

Love is the universal constant that cuts across species. Food and water may feed our bodies, but love feeds our souls. Without it we are like seeds on the moon: unfulfilled potentiality without purpose or hope. We can learn much from our young simian cousin about this one aspect that unites us at a far deeper level than lesser important things such as ou...
