Which Jung archetype best describes you?
A little fun ~ personality quiz HERE
You're the explorer! According to Jung we can find this archetype in many myths and fairy tales. You're a restless nomad, always full of wanderlust. You see life as one big adventure and you're always planning your next move. This archetype thirsts for new experiences and new people. You're independent, adaptable, ambitious and true to yourself. Your sense of adventure is your greatest strength, but you may risk wondering aimlessly and you may find it...

Exploring personality types
INFJ
A little while back I wrote a post concerning sensitive souls - HSP - 'highly sensitive people' and came across the personality types of Jung / Myers-Briggs. Curious, this week, I plunged in and took two different tests online. I'm not sure how accurate they are but found it interesting that I got an INFJ result both times.
INFJ stands for Introvert, iNtuitive, Feeling, Judging, and represents individual's preferences in four dimensions characterising personality type, according to Ju...

Autumnal Equinox ~ Mabon
22nd September
The autumnal equinox occurs when the sun crosses the equator on its apparent journey southward, and we experience a day and a night that are of equal duration. Up until Mabon, the hours of daylight have been greater than the hours from dusk to dawn. But from now on, the reverse holds true.
Mabon marks the middle of harvest, it is a time of equal day and equal night, and for the moment nature is in balance. It is a time to reap what you have sown, of giving thanks for the harvest...

Book Stuff. How important is a book blurb?
Often it is the editor or some other person from the publishing house who writes the book blurb/jacket description. The publisher usually has a better idea of what elements of the story will most appeal to readers who pick up the book at a glance.
Below is an example of how important it is to get the blurb right. A professional reviewer and author, Christina Philippou, gave ACoPF a wonderful 5-star rating and listed it in among the top 10 books of 2015 on her blog - Wow! But this shows how the...

"The veil between the worlds is thin"
A lovely review for
'A Carpet of Purple Flowers'
Book One
This is a most entrancing and captivating story. Bea, as the central character, weathers every emotional storm you can imagine, and as we get to know her, we feel for her plight, and one is torn on her behalf as she herself is torn, between two men, two identities, two realms of reality.
Bea is living a fairly ordinary life, running a small, somewhat esoteric, bookshop in London, left to her by her much-missed uncle. Into her somewhat mute...

Mystical Lotus

Bahman Farzad on Flickr“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.”

Rose-tinted glasses...

Streets noisy but silent
bobby doesn’t beat, officers sleep
plastic bag an urban tumbleweed
a flower grows through the cracked pavement
pretty walls adorned, a distraction
reflected in a drunks puddle
give me a fag, got a spare pound,
nothing humble about this town
sirens replace screams
window curtains twitch
but still…
the sun comes out
lawns are mowed
trees bare fruit
flowers are on the table
typing letters forming words
a mish-mash of thoughts on the screen
most will never be seen
a sigh
a sip of...
