Ten Things To Learn From 'The Timingila'

Many readers have written to me that they feel 'The Timingila' is much more than fiction. It articulates a way of looking at the world, giving them a realistic view of human nature, of power, and of relationships.

Here is my take on ten things that we can learn from 'The Timingila'.

Survive - Thrive - Strive
We all are wounded, we all are healers. Time changes, role changes.
People who live in the past should not decide the course of the future.
Judge a man’s character by how he treats people he does not know and things he does not own.
Hater you can find in a moment, but it takes an eternity to find a true well-wisher.
Confronting your enemy in anger feeds your ego, but diminishes your chance of success.
Don’t confuse the actions of a ruler as the nature of his people.
Don’t sympathize with the enemy, or it will cost you a war.
Being a victim doesn’t make one virtuous.
Power makes people ignore your sins. There is not much difference between acquiring power and achieving sainthood.

'The Timingila' is a fast-paced fantasy thriller, a vailable now on  Amazon and Google Play.

The Timingila - Reviews

Review by Perry:"The Timingila" is an absolute disrupter of current trends in fantasy fiction. Although a fantasy book, it has no magic element in it. The story is inspired by ancient Indian culture, but it is not a retelling of Indian mythology.

Compared to the narrative style fantasy novels, The Timingila is an extremely fast read. You can complete whole book in three to four hours. Its complex story line keeps you invested the whole time.

The story takes place in the ancient land of Jivavar...

Book Excerpt: 'The Timingila' - Chapter Two

Tasvak of Trishala"Let me go, brothers." Tasvak urged.

Some faces can be confusing -- looking at them, one can't really decide whether they are beautiful or ugly. Tasvak's face was not one of them. It took just one look to be certain that it is the ugliest face one has ever seen.

Tasvak was a large young man, around nineteen, with dark hair and pale skin. The deep scars on his face and his piercing green eyes made his appearance intimidating.

His appearance did intimidate his stepbrother, Prince...

Map of JivavartaChapter One: The Place to BeThey say that if you are born in Sonira, you won't be jealous of heaven -- and if you are born in Igati, you won't be afraid of hell. But for the people of Trishala, their city was their glorious heaven, and it was their living hell.
Trishala was neither Sonira, the most beautiful city in the ancient land of Jivavarta, nor Igati, the frozen hell without reprieve. The people of Trishala loved and hated their city -- for them, it had its own charm.

Book Excerpt: 'The Timingila' by Shon Mehta

Who is the hero of a story? The one who is brave and honorable, or the one who survives to tell the story?

Which is the more powerful weapon? The one that wins battles, or the one that wins the minds of people?

Set in the ancient land of Jivavarta, 'The Timingila' is the story of Trishala, a weak kingdom at the mercy of its neighbors, and Tasvak, the unwanted child of its king.

When a series of unexpected events put Trishala under a tyrant's control, Tasvak is forced into a web of deception a...
