Digging up work by Ken Sawai  who did–  Iona - Sexy Dynamite in Elementary school & Surfside High school. I think (??) those first few USA covers are drawn by him as well but I might be mistaken.

il viaggio di g. mastorna detto fernet

Continuo com algumas, pequenas, arrumações e desta vez parei na revista (À Suivre) n.º 177 de Outubro de 1992.
Este número vale muito – não no sentido económico – pela banda desenhada “Le voyage de G. Mastorna” com desenhos de Manara e argumento de Fellini. Como pequeno parênteses esta história foi editada em álbum em 1996 pela Casterman e penso que ainda pode ser encontrado em alguma loja online.


Não foi a primeira vez que Milo Manara trabalhou com Fellini; ambos já tinham criado a obra “Voyage à Tulum” (1986), álbum, também, editado pela Casterman.

Gosto mais desta última viagem – “Le voyage de G. Mastorna” – pela cor, pelo surrealismo da história; há algumas pranchas que são um verdadeiro delírio visual e musical!
“Le voyage de G. Mastorna” foi, igualmente, o filme não realizado por Fellini.



Hésitante, elle s’avance vers la tempête, tandis que Fellini commen­te: “Voici Mastorna, le héros de mon film, un violoncelliste… Cela devait commencer ainsi, par un atterris­sage de fortune… sur une place étrange… de rêve.” Un speaker lui demande : “Alors, mon­sieur Fellini, vous ne l’avez pas fait, Il Viaggio di G. Mastorna?” Et Fellini de répondre : “Non, pas encore. Mais je le ferai, parce que c’est le film auquel je tiens le plus. J’avais tout préparé pour que mon personnage se matérialise… Voilà, parfois, j’avais la sen­sation de l’avoir vrai­ment connu, Mastor­na… Puis, il me fuyait à nouveau…”
Depuis, plus de vingt-cinq ans sont passés et, ponctuellement, à la fin de chaque film, quand on l’interrogeait sur ses projets, Fellini faisait ré-émerger la silhouette de Mastorna. Peut-être pour l’exorciser, mais toujours dans l’éven­tail des histoires qui lui tenaient à cœur.

So with this new terrible turn for Tumblr, are you going to move somewhere else?

I’m not sure.

 I feel like Tumblr has been a ghost town for awhile now. I’ve been working towards focusing more on work for print and audio and video stuff in the future. Ideally work that feels more permanent than this. 

Instagram is ok (mine is here) but that platform is already shitty for posting images seen as too sexual. 

I was thinking about how especially with comic books often things with sex in them get relegated to being just porn with not much room for how sex often works in people’s real lives. It certainly says something about how sex or erotic images are seen.
