At the moment, what issue are you planning with your Island series? Im asking that because I can see by tumblr posts that your already up to issue six in the planning stages.

I’ve got the major stories planned up until #7 and some for 8 and 9.and a lot more that are flexible depending on when the artists schedules.

It’s been fun putting it together.

Self-absorbed sketches from last night - mostly a way to cope with this horrible hair growing out situation. How do people deal with this? I constantly fantasize about shaving it all off again. It would be so easy… so immediately satisfying… I suppose it doesn’t help that I have twice as much hair as most people, mushrooming out in every direction.

Also, I was already tired of summer back in June, and now I’d perform some kind of demon summoning blood magic if only it would give me a rain storm. I just want to put on all my winter clothes, and stare down the sun until it goes away forever.

This is the creature that I love the most and bring muffins too. 

Hey Brandon! There's no Island in November? I saw that is missing in the solicitations

Yeah, that was a mess that I’m still trying to figure out. For some reason (which I suspect was my own mistake) All the books I submitted for Nov got put in the Dec solicitations.

Soo ISLAND #6, PROPHET Earth war #1 and From Under mountains #4

8house will still be out in Nov though. (because Emma submitted it) 

Opinions on Island magazine? Would you consider making a comic or writing a prose piece for it if offered?

It has been offered, I’ve just been finishing up Leopard.  Brandon is someone who has definitely gone out of his way to put me on things.  I still have a Prophet backup that will be coming out whenever that gets back and going.  I’ve been really fortunate with the people I’ve met who have for whatever reasons liked my stuff and wanted to work with me.  I actually turn down more things than I should probably.  I just have a lot of conviction about my own work, that’s hard for me to like shift around to outside goalposts quickly.  But yeah.

I will also have some writing in the upcoming Crepax collection from Fantagraphics while we’re talking about things
