May Days and a New Release

Happy May! This is my birthday month, so I'm celebrating by being run around ragged by school kids and their activities. LOL. There will also be cake, though. Cake is always good.
I also have a new release out! Book 3 in the Seven Families: Wolf Series is out in eBook, trade paperback, and large print editions.
NOTE on the print editions: There were some issues at both of the print distributors this time around, which means the print books are releasing slowly. I will add more links to this post and to the book's listing on the Paranormal Romance page as I get them. I'll also add the print links to the universal link (the All Other EBook Vendors link) as I get them. Sorry for the delay. Seems there's been a lot of hiccups in that part of the production schedule lately.

Website Updates
So I've gotten most of the updates to the website taken care of. You'll notice the menu links now organize everything by genre and that organization matches (for the most part) the bookstore, Kat Simons Books . I hope that makes things a little easier for readers.
The top of each genre page is just a list of the books by series or standalone, and then the details about each book are listed below that. So this can work as a quick reference check on a series, or a way to see more details about each book.
And all these same details are available at Kat Simons Books too, so you can just jump over there for more.
Upcoming
Next month, I'll have a standalone eBook release for a new Cary Redmond novella, the first time this story will be available on its own. Cary's Beltane Night Out is also currently available in the collect, A VERY CARY HOLIDAY , for my print readers, and those too impatient to wait for the standalone eBook until next month.

I'll also have the first short story in a new Mystery series I've been playing with. This was my experiment with an amateur sleuth, almost-but-not-quite-cozy mystery set in New York City (I know, cozy's aren't set in cities, that's why it's not quite a cozy *grin*). And it's been really fun to write! Movies May Murder, A Percy James Mystery will be out in eBook in June. And the next story in the series, Cookies Can't Crime, should be available in August. Check back for more on those!

April Release and Updates

SPECIAL NOTE: This just came up at the beginning of April, but it appears Book Depository is closing it's doors and will no longer be taking orders from April 26th. This means I'll be removing the Book Depository links from the site and obviously won't have them going forward. The grapevine tells me that Blackwells in the UK is a good alternative for cheap/free international shipping, so I'll look into that and if it pans out, will start adding those links in. I am sorry to see Book Depository go, though. They were a great site, particularly for international readers, and their absence will leave a hole.

Good news for my print readers! Because I'm writing the Demon Witch series a little slower, and there are, so far, only two short story/novellas in the series, that's not enough to put out a print collection yet. But since some of the stuff in the main series references those stories, especially  Moonlit Strange , I've been encouraged to put those stories into print. And we have!
Currently, they're only available in trade paperback editions. And because they're small stories, the books are really thin. But they're very cute too!

Getting the individual short stories into print is a little complicated but doable, so for the shorts that aren't available in print collections and won't be for awhile, I'll try to get them into print individually. There's one Cary Redmond novella, Cary and Dragons and Goblins , that fits into the main Cary Redmond series right between book 5 and book 6 and isn't in a print collection anywhere that will be my next adventure in tiny print books. After that, we'll look at what's left that isn't in some version of print somewhere.
Also for the Large Print readers, I will be trying to get all these shorts into large print editions too. That just might take a little longer, but it's in the plan. And finally, I'm working behind the scenes with an update to the website. I have enough books and enough series out now that the way I have things organized is getting a little unwieldy. So I'm going to be reorganizing by genre in the tabs instead of by series. The set up will be similar to my Bookstore , so that should also make things easier even moving between the two places. The updates won't go live until I've finished moving things around in the background, but you could see them as early as the end of this month. Hopefully no later than the end of May.
It's a fun problem to have, having to reorganize the site because I've got that many books out now *grin*

February Part 2

A week late, but we made February--barely. The newest Cary Redmond novella is out now! And actually, in the end, the timing is probably better. This is a St. Patrick's Day story and at this stage, we're getting pretty close to St. Patrick's Day.

But if this is your first Cary story, it stands on its own and can be read without reading any other story in the series.
In April, I'll have the next collection of Cary Redmond short out. Including one story that hasn't published as a stand alone yet. For my paperback readers, that will be the time to get this story as well as the other holiday stories I've got in the Cary world. More on that in April.

Which I just realized LOL). That will give us time to ensure the paperbacks are available by the release date. First of 2 February Posts

Thanks to a bout of Covid for me and my youngest (sigh) I'm a little behind this month--for the record, we're both doing well, thanks be to vaxxes. He's fully recovered and I'm on the mend. Fingers crossed my oldest and husband don't get sick now. More sighing.

Anyway! Personal note added just so you know that I'll be posting a second update this month. I may have to push out the release of my second story for this month and the novel for next month by about a week each, since I lost a week of work. I will update here as soon as I know.

In the meantime, I did get the Valentine's Day release up and it's out now! Once again, it is not a Valentine's day story or a romance or anything like that. For some reason, I don't lean into publishing my romances on Valentine's Day LOL.

Eventually, I'm hoping to have voice actor narrated audiobook options available, too, but at the moment, that level of production is outside my operating costs. I really want to have all my books as accessible as possible, though, and the digitally narrated versions are within my current means, so we'll be working to make those available at least.

NEXT MONTH

In February I have two new novellas releasing (busy month!)
The first is a new Joan of Kerry story JOAN AND THE KRAKEN, when Joan and her dragon companion Rory have to face, well, a kraken. That eBook releases on February 14th because apparently I'm not a stickler for releasing romances in February. 

The second release, at the end of February, is a new Cary Redmond novella! It's a St. Patrick's Day story, so it'll be available in time to read on St. Patrick's Day if you're so inclined. CARY'S LEPRECHAUN TROUBLES (because of course she has trouble with leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day) will be available in eBook on the 21st of February. It will also be included in an upcoming collection of Cary Redmond shorts and novellas in print and eBook. More on that soon.

Holidays and Happy New Year!

Well, not quite the new year yet. First, we have to do all this other celebrating -- or avoid the other celebrating as the case may be! Whichever it is for you, I hope this month brings you peace and some joy and some good books to read.

This month, I have a long short story/novelette contemporary romance "meet cute" releasing. It's set in Hawaii around Christmas, and if you're looking for something quick and fun and a little sweetly sexy and maybe even a little suspenseful, I hope you'll try Poinsettias and Possibilities. I spent a few Christmases in Hawaii over the years (went to college there), so I can say it's a lovely place to be for the holidays.

Next month, finally, the launch of a new paranormal romance series that I've had percolating in the back of my head for years now. There was even an earlier version of the first book--written years ago! I'm so excited to have the series hitting the shelves soon. It's been a long time in coming. It combines a little monster horror (not monster romance--yet--strictly horror monsters in the first three books), some interesting mythology, fated mates, and a twist on the idea of a shapeshifter. I hope readers will enjoy it!
It's a bit darker than my Tiger Shifters series, but not by much, so if you like dark, scary paranormal romance, this might be just for you. But there are references to the murder of family members (happened before the book started), so if that's a problem for you, this might be one to miss.

November New Release

This month I have something a little different. My first published action-adventure thriller! I was feeling nostalgic for old action-adventure movies like The Mummy (1999 version), Indian Jones, and Romancing the Stone when I wrote this. I hope readers get those same fun vibes from the book. Also, because it's me and I can't seem to help myself, I also had to give the book a science history twist.

There are also a lot of witches, some vampires, a mystery, a now-for-something-a-little-different story, and more! There are also links to the Demon Witch series in two of the five stories, and an Easter egg for the Cary Redmond series in another--though that one might be too subtle to catch. The collection was really fun to put together and I hope readers enjoy!

For Print readers, there's a hang up with the large print edition which is delaying the distribution. Just slow, but the books will be out soon. Final bit of news. I've given my newsletter subscribers a special Halloween treat this month--a new novella in the Cary Redmond series! This one will only be available to newsletter subscribers, and all new subscribers will get a copy of it (along with a short story from the Tiger Shifters paranormal romance series--a story also only available through the newsletter).

This newsletter exclusive is the story of when Cary meets the Master vampire Ariel--to discuss that whole vampires sucking kitten blood thing. I wasn't sure I'd ever write that story. But when it came out...it was fun to write.
