UK Publishers on AI's Threats: 'A Marathon, Not a Sprint' - Publishing Perspectives

Do you think AI needs rules of use for authors' work?Today's trip into the Catosphere took our brave traveling kitty pilot to the Publishing Perspectives site. There he found a post about the UK's AI bill.. Porter Anderson's post reports on what's happening with the UK's Data Bill in the House of Lords and the House of Commons. It also covers some of the proposed and stopped amendments to the Bill. Stable Book Group Teams with HBG to Launch Indie Distribution Service - Publishers Weekly

It looks like you need to publish others' books too.Panzer stopped in at the Publishers Weekly site today. There he found a post about a new distribution service for indie publishers. Ed Nawotka's post says the Stable Book Group will begin distribution next year for North American indie publishers. Panzer says, "Be sure to read the entire post." Note:This is a l-o-n-g post. Gumshoe Review June 2025 Issue Now Online

The guidelines for length are specific.Panzer discovered the June issue of Gumshoe Review is online. Except for the Editorial License column, this issue is loaded with book reviews. The Editorial License column, however, says they are open to fiction and nonfiction submissions.  Panzer says, "Be sure to read the submission guidelines. You need her to watch out for you.Panzer made a stop at the Writer Beware (R) site where he found a post about the bankruptcies of two publishers. Anyone who has had any dealings with either company needs to read Victoria Strauss' post. She gives all the details about each company's bankruptcy and includes links with more information. Panzer says, "Even if you didn't have anything to do with either company you should still read the post to learn what to do in this situation."" Note: This is a very long post. 20 Books of Summer is back! With new hosts

It's looks like fun.Here's an interesting reading challenge Panzer found online. Although it says 20 books, you can choose 10 or 15 or 20 books to read. Also, it says Summer reading, but it can be Winter reading depending on where you live and which season it is for you.  The site has a Bingo game, a place to signup, logos for your site, and a place to invite your friends. It started June 1 to August 31.
