Cartoon of the Day: Cats - Mystery Fanfare

Laughed so hard I fell off the desk.

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Mystery Fanfare site. There he found a cartoon to start his year off right.
Hope you enjoy it as much he did.

ABA Cancels 2022 Winter Institute - Publishers Weekly

Panzer says, I'm really tired of this. I'm really tired of this.
Panzer was shaken from his kitty nap by booing and hissing coming from the Catosphere. Jumping in the Panzermobile, he followed all the noise to the Publishers Weekly site. There he discovered all the angst concerned a post about the ABA's Winter Institute.

According to the post by Ed Nawotka, due to the Covid-19 increase in cases the American Booksellers Association (ABA) has cancelled their in-person Feb. 13-16 Winter Institute. The ABA will announce other plans soon.

Panzer says, "Will that virus thingy ever go away?"
Note: This is a short post. Bring a cup of cocoa for today's reading.

A New Panzerism

 Panzer on human narcissism:
I have joined Mom and What's His Name at backyard barbecues for the Fourth of July with neighbors, for coffee and tea on the deck for New Year's morning, and holiday season dinners with their families.
You can't change what is.*
One thing stands out to me at these gatherings:
Mom is always the second most attractive creature there.
Too bad she has such an attractive cat over-shadowing her.

12 Writing Conferences in January - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Today Panzer was sweeping out the Panzermobile when he found something stuck under the carpet. Pulling it out, our fastidious kitty boy discovered it was a post from the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site.
Panzer says, These look interesting." These look interesting.

Erica Verrillo's post is a list of writing conferences happening this month. Some are online via Zoom only. In addition to registration some have manuscript submission guidelines. Unfortunately, at least one has a registration deadline in December 2021.
Panzer says, "Sorry this is late. Our New Year preparations got in the way."
Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of cocoa and a muffin for your reading pleasure.

55 Writing Contests in January: No fee - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. There our adventuresome kitty boy found a post about writing contests in January.
Panzer says, There's no time to wait. There's no time to waste.
According to the post by site owner Erica Verrillo, she found 55 writing contests in January. The list includes fiction, nonfiction, plays, and poetry contests. Some have specific rules for entry. All are free to enter.
Panzer says, "You might need to hurry and dust off something in your computer files because some of the contests have a January 1 entry deadline."
Note: This is a long post. Bring a big mug of cocoa and two muffins for today's readings.

Traditional After Christmas Panzerism

The dent? The big guy with the reindeer.*
Panzer on the Christmas holiday:
Do I think those look like my paw prints on the hood of the car? Noooo ...
From here I'd say they're reindeer prints.
