Dogging the Watchdog: In Which a Scammer Tries to Troll Me - Writer Beware (R)

Panzer says, She is a writer's best friend. She is a writer's best friend.
Today, Panzer made a quick trip to the Writer Beware (R) site. There your favorite traveling kitty boy found a post about a scammer trying to troll site owner Victoria Strauss. In the post Victoria Strauss gives examples of some of the things scammers have tried to do to her in the past. They've tryed to get her kicked out of SFWA and they've included instructions in their scam manual about how to discredit her. She then describes what the latest scammer is doing. This one is impersonating her to make her look bad. The post includes links for all the assorted things scammers have tried to do over the years.

Panzer says, "You know you're doing your job, when the bad guys are afraid of you, and, obviously, this scammer is afraid of her."

Note: This is a long post. Bring whatever you want to eat and drink while you read her post.

KKR Wins S&S for $1.62 Billion - Publishers Weekly

Today, Panzer was shaken from his noon nap in his kitty bed by the sound of clapping coming from the Catosphere. Hopping in the Panzermobile, he followed all the noise to the Publishers Weekly site. There he discovered Simon and Schuster has finally been sold. Panzer told you last year and this year about the on-going court lawsuit to stop the sale of Simon and Schuster to Penguin Random House. That ended earlier this year in a no sale court decision.
Panzer says, Now back to important stuff. Now back to important stuff.
According to the post by Publishers Weekly's Jim Milliot and Andrew Albanese, Simon and Schuster has been bought by KKR. KKR is not a publisher, but instead a private investment firm. The firm does say Simon and Schuster will continue as a publisher. The post includes information about plans for the publisher's and employees' futures.

Panzer says, "Finally, it's over."

Note: This is a long post. Bring a glass of iced tea to drink while you read today's selection.

Your Monday Panzerism

 Panzer on hunting prowess:
I approach my query with stealth.I slink forward on silent paws.I sniff the wind quickly, measuring the strength and direction.
Moving with the sun at my back.I dive ruthlessly forward ...
I pounce.
Panzer says, I am the world's greatest hunter. I am the world's greatest hunter.*
And ...
Once again ...
The hunt is successful.
The food dish is mine.
