Bloody Scotland Events and Costs Schedule

Panzer made a stop at the Bloody Scotland site today. Bloody Scotland is Scotland's International Crime Writing Festival. It runs September 15 - 17. If you plan to attend whether in-person or online, he found all the event schedules and costs for you.
  I'm ready, Mom.
Since Panzer doesn't like riding in airplanes, he checked the scheduling and costs for the online events. Individual online events are available, a Masterclass pass is available and a digital pass is available as well as the individual in-person events. You can read the full event descriptions by clicking the event title. You'll need to check the site to convert the times and costs to your own country's time and currency.
Panzer says, "I've gone twice online and it was so much fun."
Note: This is a very, very, very long schedule of events. You'll need to decide what to bring to eat and drink.

Copyright Update: Internet Archive Injunction Leaves Some Concerns - Publishing Perspectives

Panzer says, Did it include indie authors? Did it include indie authors?
Today, Panzer made a trip to the Publishing Perspectives site. There he found a followup post to Monday's post about the publishers and Internet Archive's court proposal.
According to Porter Anderson's post, not everyone is happy with the judge's decision regarding the proposal. Unlike others, the Authors Guild doesn't believe the judge went far enough in protecting all writers. The post includes links to other posts on the Publishing Perspectives site which contain information about the Internet Archive.

Panzer says, "All the way at the end of the post it does say the Internet Archive is also being sued by some of the record companies for copyright infringement."
Note: This is a long post. Bring a big glass of lemonade and two chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) to snack on while you read.

The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest 2023 Winners

Panzer says, I dare you not to laugh at them. I dare you not to laugh at them.
Panzer was shaken from his afternoon nap in his kitty bed by clapping and laughing coming from the Catosphere. Hopping in the Panzermobile, he followed all the jocularity to The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction site.
At the site he discovered the Grand Winner of The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest, Maya Pasic, has been announced. In addition, if you scroll down the page and click the Read all the 2023 Winners button, all the Winners and Dishonorable Mentions have also been announced. The Winners and Dishonorable Mentions entries are available to read there too.

Since there are thirteen categories with Winners and Dishonorable Mentions in each, you'll need to go to the site to read all the winning entries.

Have fun!

Copyright: Publishers, Internet Archive File Court Proposal - Publishing Perspectives

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Publishing Perspectives site. There with a little digging in the posts he found one about the Internet Archive (IA) copyright infringement lawsuit. Panzer told you when IA lost the case to the publishers suing for copyright infringement.
According to the post by Porter Anderson, the publishers involved in the lawsuit and the Internet Archive (IA) presented a proposal for their agreed upon settlement to the court last week.
You lost. Say sorry. And pay.
Panzer says, "In simple terms: IA will stop stealing. IA will pay a secret amount of money, if it loses its court appeal."
Note: This is a very long post. Bring a pitcher of lemonade and three chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) for today's reading selections.
