More Authors, Including Michael Chabon, Sue AI Developers Over Copyright - Publishers Weekly

Panzer made a quick stop at the Publishers Weekly site today. There our handsome kitty boy found a post about a new lawsuit filed against AI developers.
According to Andrew Albanese's post, a new copyright lawsuit has been filed against AI developers. The authors who filed the lawsuit believe the developers used their copyrighted material to train the AI. This was done without the authors' permission. The post contains links to information about lawsuits filed by other authors against AI developers.
Panzer says, "This little kitty can't wait to see what happens in court and who appeals."
Note: This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a chocolate chip cookie (biscuit) to snack on while you read.

Internet Archive Files Appeal in Copyright Infringement Case - Publishers Weekly

Today, Panzer made a stop at the Publishers Weekly site. There with a little digging in the posts, our intrepid kitty traveler found one about the Internet Archive (IA) lawsuit.
The post by Andrew Albanese states the Internet Archive (IA) filed an appeal of last month's court judgement against IA. In that case Judge John G. Koeltl determined IA did commit copyright infringement when they scanned and "loaned" copies of publishers' books without permission or payments to the publishers.
Panzer says, "It's no surprise. We all knew they were going to appeal."
Note: This is a short-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea for today's reading selection.
