Editor's Corner
November 5, 2014
Today is a great day. My first round of editing has finally been completed. It's amazing how much you change when you go back through your writing. Restructuring sentences, moving chapters around, searching for the perfect words to captivate your readers in that pivotal moment. It is truly awe-inspiring.
I can't tell you how many times I've written and rewritten my query. Perfectionism at its finest. I finally wrote one that I'm happy with and sent it out to a couple of agents. I know it's getting close to the holidays, but I'm really hoping I'll get a response back soon. And hopefully it'll be a good one!

How did I get here?
October 29, 2014
Ever since I can remember, I've been writing stories. My love for writing started when I was seven years old. I kept a notebook filled with short stories, about two pages each. Along the margin, I'd draw pictures to represent the images I'd created in my head. When I started high school, I focused more on athletics and academics, but I still kept a journal. I didn't write as much as I would have liked, but the point is, I wrote.
In college, I struggled with choosing a major. I absolutely loved my English and Creative Writing classes, but my left brain (the logical side) told me that it'd be better for me to choose a different path. This of course, devastated my right brain (the creative side). I chose to pursue the Business route, getting my Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management. I landed a great job two months after graduating where I moved to Houston, TX. While climbing the corporate ladder felt great, there was a part of me that still felt unfulfilled. It was during this time that I began to write my first novel, The Alpha Drive.
It's 2014, four years later, and I've finally finished writing it. I know what you're thinking, four years is a long time to write a novel, but bear in mind that I had a full-time job as well as a Master's degree from Texas A&M to keep me busy. If writing had been the only thing on my plate, I'm sure I would have finished it a lot sooner.
I'm just starting the editing process and wanted to start this blog to capture my thoughts, successes, shortcomings, and everything in between. Maybe it'll help an aspiring writer-to-be one day. I can only hope!
