I knew Kyla Hensley would be trouble when I met her. But I wanted her. I could see through the falsehood of her wannabe-slutty clothes and her sexy legs. So I chased her.

I was brought up in privilege, but I lacked everything else. My father is a business tycoon who buys and sells and doesn’t care who gets rolled over in the process.
I never knew my mother, and all I have of her is a photo with a note scrawled on the back in French saying “I’m sorry.” The only Female Figure I had growing up is my dad’s wife who is a bleach blond with seven boob jobs. We never bonded.
I drink. I party. I meet guys.
But I wasn’t always like that.
I’ve had a string of lovers in the last few years, the worst and most recent of which was Vince Somerset. My best friend Vera was dating a guy called Rory Cansoom who is the opposite of Vince in so many ways, and yet so the same.
She and I hit the road for the summer, getting away from the two college psychos and just trying to have some fun.
But there’s a funny thing about trouble, the more you run from it, the more it finds you.
Which is when I met the Debt Collector.
It was only supposed to be sex. He made that clear. I made that clear.
That’s all it was supposed to be.
I never expected to fall in love. I never expected to fall so deeply, madly, uncomfortably in love with a man who is wrong, so wrong for me.
And yet…so unbelievably right.

“Who are you?” he repeats.
“I…I don’t know what you mean.”
“I see you at a bar in Texas, then I look for you all over Nashville. And suddenly you’re at my side in a hospital, following me into this warehouse. Who are you?”
“I didn’t follow you into the warehouse. You needed to pick up your truck, and you were stumbling.”
“So?”
“So I wanted to make sure you were OK.”
“And?”

Logan grins, a deadly look for him with his dimples. “Don’t do that,” I say.

Also I will be slowing down on my releases…
I went on a rampage a few days ago..and although I’ve calmed down I still stand by everything I said 100%. The only releases this year will be Blood of the Ancient Gods: The Beginning March 8th and Snap Shot this upcoming May. Not sure when anything else will be released. I will finish the Dark Indiscretions Series. The next book’s first draft is done but it won’t be releasing this year. It will be next year. I’ve been busting my ass for the last few years and I’m in the same place I started. So I’m taking a huge step back. I now see why some only release one book a year and I’m okay with it. I have 20+ stories out and available for purchase and I’ve pushed myself to far and stretched myself thin when I shouldn’t have been. So yes I won’t be quitting completely but I will be scaling down tremendously least my rubber band snaps again.

Thanatos, the God of Death, stood in Tartarus and slowly took it all in. He hated this fucking place. Why was he regulated to live in the depths of hell where no other gods wanted to venture? “Thanatos, we need to speak immediately,” Janus said.
“What have you seen that can’t wait until I’m in a better mood?” Thanatos asked.
“You’re never in a better mood and this is important. We cannot afford to delay any further. Death is coming for us all.”
“Always with the dramatics. Get on with it then.”
“Hecate, Fenrir, and Oberon have decided something that’s caused the future to shift in their favor. If they succeed in their plans, it could mean the end for us and a new beginning for them.”
“Death is an everyday occurrence. I’m not worried about my end…you on the other hand.”
Thanatos watched as Janus just shook his head back and forth franticly.
“NO. This is different. They are trying to amass armies strong enough to kill even you.”
“Impossible!”
“I’ve seen it.”
Thanatos started to pace. What Janus suggested was ridiculous. He was the God of Death. He could never be killed or weakened. Nothing in the world existed that could control or contain him. Every death made him stronger and there wasn’t a day that went by when someone wasn’t praying for death to claim them.
“What can we do to counter this future? How can we change it back to benefit us?”
“The dead.”
“The dead? What about them?”
“We must have them rise.”
Thanatos closed his eyes and prayed for patience. Sometimes Janus made no fucking sense. Zombies? Really? That was their best option. There had to be something else…something better. He needed a second option on this before he agreed to hear anything else Janus had to say.
“I’m going for a walk. We will discuss this rising of the dead later.”
Thanatos left before Janus could even get a word out. He’d heard enough for the moment. Walking deeper into Tartarus, into the shadows he searched for his father. He found him barely corporal thirty minutes later and waited to be addressed.
Shakuita Johnson is a 31-year-old Psychology major. When she isn’t going to school or working, she is doing what she loves most. Writing. She started writing in middle school. She would write poetry in her room or the middle of the night. Then she was introduced to short stories in a creative writing course her senior year. Her love for paranormal and supernatural started with R.L. Stine Goosebumps books and TV shows, Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles, and Christopher Pike books. She is an avid reader with over 100 books on her bookshelf and 1000 plus on her iPad. She also loved to watch Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer with her mom.
Dark Indiscretions is her first novel and is a Paranormal Thriller. She has followed it up with Dark Indiscretions: Monster Unleashed, Dark Indiscretions: A Prequel, Dark Indiscretions: Seer Destined and Rumspringa (Dark Indiscretions #3.5). She will be releasing Dark Indiscretions: Triple Cursed this summer.

He was magnificent. Was every guy in this school a male model? Towering over her at well above six foot, with muscles that went on for days, he was built like a statue with a hard jaw and stone-cold eyes to match. Though his looks were definitely worth paying attention to, it was his smell that had her standing dumbfounded. In all the years since she’d first experienced the change, she had never run into anyone like her. Now, standing here right in front of her was yet another wolf. She’d thought the lingering scent of wet earth might have been left in Di’s wake, but the longer he stood here, looking down at her, the stronger the smell got.
“Do you have a problem?” he asked with a voice that complemented that spectacular body of his. Smooth and deep. Seriously… what a package. Her wolf was definitely at attention and begging for a second to come to the surface for a closer inspection. It was all she could do not to wolf out right there in the hallway, with all the students around to see. Yeah. That would make for a great first impression.
Hiya, everyone… I’m the new girl, and… oh, yeah, and I’m a wolf, too. She might as well tape an old “Kick me” sign on her back; it would be less conspicuous.
While she was practically drooling where she stood, the strange boy, wolf, man –whatever he was – looked positively murderous. “Are you going to stand here all day, or can I get to my locker?”
So much for making a good first impression on him. “Sorry.” Giselle cleared her throat, wanting to say something smart, but for once, she didn’t have the words. She sidestepped sheepishly, and enjoyed the back view of him as he brushed past her to his own locker.

Her wolf agreed, too. Wonder what his wolf looks like. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours! She couldn’t help but stare. How often did she run into other wolves? Male wolves.

Other Side of Forever
“Allie, why do you hate me so much?” he asked softly as he stared into the sky.
His question took me by surprise. Did he really think that?
“I…I don’t hate you, Ethan.” I stumbled over my words. “I barely know you.”
“Then why do you try so hard to avoid me?”
“I don’t,” I lied, knowing that I did, but not in a mean type of way. I closed my eyes and sighed, wishing he didn’t have to ask so many questions. Couldn’t he just go back to saying nothing at all?
“You do,” he argued. I could hear the change in his voice. He was smiling.
“No. I don’t,” I answered sarcastically. His persistence was pinching my nerves.
“Then look at me,” he challenged.
Without thinking, I turned my head and looked at him. His warm, sweet breath blew against my face as he exhaled. The scent of peppermint. His dark eyes snatched me up and whisked me away. I was lost and unprepared as he drew me deeper and deeper inside him. The walls he created around me were getting higher and harder to climb. Like I had slipped into a trench and I was sinking into the earth.
Ethan pressed forward, attempting to close the gap between us. His lips were so close to mine I could feel the heat emanating from them. And just as our lips were about to brush, the voice in my head begged and pleaded and screamed for me to stop.
Then I turned away.

Discussion Question
If an individual or group was to implement strong, efficient means of promoting unity without referring to racism or discrimination what would that look like in one’s community?
Answer
My initial response would begin by educating the community on what social change is trying to be accomplished so the common goal can be clearly identified so there is no room for miscommunication but can create avenues to enhance different levels of the foundation. I would also gather a census among many different cultures, religion, and targeted populations to see where the immediate need lies within these communities on the micro level so expansion will be apt to happen on the macro level. People like to feel involved and that change will positively influence them which means that the topic needing to be addressed should be experienced/witnessed within all communities. Majority of effective change results in places where the problems are continuous and potentially create chaos or concern for others involved. This process in my opinion will take time but change is constant and is challenging to associate with perfection.
