The Gift of Creativity

There are many gifts you can give a child this holiday season, but in this article, I hope to influence you to give the gift of creativity. The idea came to mind when the collaborators of KidLit Parade discussed what the themes would be for the next two weeks. It was decided holiday traditions (#KLPTraditions) would be appropriate for the season .

The Gift of Reading

When I say that I believe reading is a gift, it is a message that comes from my heart. The joy--and even sorrow--that comes from a book can be a comforting companion. The emotions and thoughts they provoke unrivaled. It is something that I want all children (and adults) to experience. It is why you will always find books underneath our Christmas tree each year.

A Grateful Thanksgiving

I would like to take just a moment of your time to express my appreciation. I am incredibly thankful to all of you who stop by to read my weekly blog, those who have journeyed with me the past couple of years as I have embarked upon my path as an Indie writer, and for all those who have supported the Dani P. Mystery series. You have all blessed my life in so many ways.

Holiday Shows: Getting Prepared

Not long ago I read an article about Holiday Shows (a.k.a. craft shows) being one of the Indie author's best friends. So understandably, when one came knocking on my front door I decided to answer the call. I had no idea what to expect, but I thought I would share my impressions with you. Before I continue, I should state that the article did warn that it is important to attend several shows and find out which ones prove successful.

Creating Christmas Magic

When the alarm rang out at six a.m. this past Saturday morning, I groaned and rolled over and groggily turned it off. There was much to be done. Thanksgiving hasn't yet arrived, but behind the scenes, Santa's little helpers are being called into action to ready for the holiday season.

The Oxford Comma

Don't complicate your mind. (1)

Oh, my…the Oxford comma. It has been the debate of many conversations. Is it passé or is it here to stay? I know for myself, well, I’ll just let the graphic speak for me. You can find articles spread throughout the internet defending its glory and stating it’s old school. Is it a generation thing?

Be vocal, share your thoughts, and give us your opinion… (You didn’t really think I’d write about the Oxford comma and not use it, did you?)
