nobody:
me: okay so WHAT **IF** spaceships in science fiction settings had the same bat-shit naming scheme as racing horses??
nobody:
me: some sexy-looking space smuggler slaps the hood of their craft and goes "This here is the fastest ship in the galaxy: I Found a Penny."

When I set out to improve my drawing skills I didn’t think I’d become best friends with the Linear Burn blending mode, but as they say, life is full of surprises. 🎨🖌

2. Tone / Ambient Light (Linear Burn, low opacity)
3. Shadows (Linear Burn, medium opacity)

I’m ½ thru the first read of this manuscript, and I’m feeling GREAT! The 2-3 chapters I thought were going to be the most hardest turned out to be a breeze 🍃
There’s still lots of work ahead, but I feel like I can finally breathe. Those chapters were not as bad as I thought~

I was feeling like re-drawing some of my favorite board game art, and what better subject to begin with than the Witch Hunter from Bargain Quest! My favorite hero in the box, she makes everyone at the table shudder whenever she shows up. (Card art by Victoria Ying)

Mako (she/her) is another character from my current book! 🦋🌈
She’s Hoshi’s high school friend, closest confidant, and The Best Barista (according to Hoshi who works at the same coffee shop). Mako may be small and sweet but DO NOT mess with her! 👊💥

A hard but true writing tip:
If there’s something you need to remember about your book (for instance, that thing that happened in that one chapter that you REALLY need to bring up later), you should write it down!!
- Keep a file with all the important information you need to remember about your characters / story
- When editing, keep a list of all the BIG & SMALL revision notes, so you aren’t just reading your manuscript over and over
- This is EXTRA important if you’re writing a series!!

Remember that time I made a D&D 5e supplement where you could play as a Slowpoke? I nearly forgot! 😂
This was a really fun project. I should do more silly stuff like this~ 🐚💕

Since I’m back to Editing🤖Mode today, here’s one of my golden editing tips:
Create a list of words/terms that are easily misspelled, or that slip through spellcheck, and scan your manuscript for them! For instance, the sneaky [wont] when you meant to write [won’t].
