BYWAYS: Personal Touch
Ink on Paper. As the stack of Byways print editions grows, it’s been exciting to make one of my earliest visions for the series come true. When you get an author-signed copy, they come with these personal touches…
My author seal (which carries hints of all my stories/series), a stamp that celebrates my hometown, and another for the place I currently live. If you’d like to secure signed copies of any of the Byways books, drop me an email. Because if you have PayPal, we can definitely work...

SCHOOL VISIT: Writers in Wonderland
Local Author. This past weekend, I took part in a special event at Barnard Elementary here in San Diego. With “Writers in Wonderland,” parents and teachers invited kids to play with words in so many fun ways. Flamingo Croquet. Parts-of-Speech Twister. Author Quest. A raffle with wonderful books as prizes. Booths for creating poetry, flash fiction, and comics. And of course, local authors like me, who were ready to answer questions about being writers. ART: Prologue [Galleries of Stone]
“That man’s branch is severed from our tree. His star is fallen from our sky. His name is cast into the sea. May the depths take him.” Silence hung heavy in the house as the clan leader cursed his own son. “May his blood spill, may his bones break, may flames consume him. He is an enemy of this house. Should he trespass upon this clan’s holdings, my own dagger will spill his entrails, my own hands will wring the breath from his lungs. That man will meet his end.”

IN PRINT: Meadowsweet [Galleries of Stone]
Now Available! I’m pleased (and proud) to announce that Meadowsweet is now available in print! My own boxes of books arrived earlier today, and they look wonderful. I fanned the pages, then sat down to read the first chapter.
You’ll find the paperback edition showing up in virtual bookstores. For instance, here it is on Amazon. Harrow and Rakefang won’t be far behind.

Necessary Delay [BYWAYS]
Everything isn’t quite ready for the release of the next three Byways books, so I’m giving myself (and my illustrator and my editors) a small extension. The trio of titles will come out next month instead. I’ll keep you posted! ~CJ
MEADOWSWEET: Print Proof
First Look. This week, my print proof of Meadowsweet came in the mail. It’s so exciting to finally hold this story in my own hands. Give it a couple weeks and the print editions will start showing up everywhere books are sold.
Harrow and Rakefang won’t be far behind. : )

We’re about a fortnight away from releasing this fantasy trilogy as “real” books. Here’s a sneak peek at the full cover for Galleries of Stone, Book Two: Harrow.
I showed off the back cover of Meadowsweet in this earlier post
