A Sneak Peek at Runner’s Hub and the Cover for Shane

Are these Shane Tiernan’s Eyes?
The cover for Shane should soon be available. It’s going to be yummy! As soon as I have the image in hand, I’ll be posting it everywhere I can.
Meanwhile, here’s a quick peek at level ten on Runner’s Hub. The Hub is a dangerous place, so keep your weapons close and don’t let the sensual surroundings distract you…maybe a little.
Excerpt from Shane by Cailin Briste
The quiet of the corridor was instantly replaced by the churning noise and thumping beat of what passed...

FrankenDom – Cailin’s Review
FrankenDom by Robin L. Rotham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Do you love that cover? Mmmhmmm. Me, too. I wasn’t at Samhain to buy a book, but that cover caught my eye. After a glance at the description, I was sold. Now I have a new fictional Dom to adore.
This book kept me up reading last night. I just had to finish it. I really enjoyed the characters and BDSM aspects were luscious. Portions are still playing in my head, and that makes it worth keeping for me. I liked that there was variety in the BDSM...

Shane – Half Way There
Shane is coming along well. It’s over half way written. I’m working on a rope suspension scene with a rope master. He’s really helping me take the scene in a better direction than where I started heading.
I’m still looking for beta readers who are willing to read the beta copy and add notes or comments of things I would like them to address as they read. I’ve got an instruction sheet and can provide files in Word .doc or Adobe .pdf format. Both allow commenting of text. If you’d like to beta r...

A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing – Cailin’s Review
A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing by Deborah MacGillivray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I enjoyed reading this quirky paranormal romance. I loved the Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood both. Yes, love strikes very quickly, and some may find that not realistic. But then what’s realistic about a clockwork gypsy’s fortunes being cryptic but correct every single time? There’s a lot of fairy tale references in this book, and it is itself a lovely fairy tale in which love triumphs. It’s light reading for when you ne...

Scandalous Brides – Cailin’s Review
Scandalous Brides by Annette Blair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a great deal. I love Annette Blair’s Rogues Club. I read Unforgettable Rogue as single book before buying this set. It’s worth the $.99 for this book alone. The scene where Hawk breaks the bed is one I’ve remembered since I first read it. Alex’s seduction of her husband is just fun to read.
A Lady by Chance by Cheryl Bolen is another good read if you’re willing to dispense with it being a realistic historical. The romance moves f...

Shadow’s Edge – Cailin’s Review
Shadow’s Edge by Brent Weeks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a fantasy novel, second in the series. The first book was terrific, this book just continues in that vein.
The characters are well developed, the settings are vivid, the dialogue is engaging, and the story line is riveting. I’ve read it to enjoy it. Now I need to go back and read it to figure out how Brent Weeks did all that. But first, book number 3.
Things I Liked Best:
The exploration of love vs. sex.
Overcoming evil is not limited to...
Shane Excerpt

Could this be Shane and his intense blue eyes?
Here it is, Chapter One of Shane from the new Tallavan Marshals series. Let me know what you think on my blogor on my Facebook page. I’ll also be needing beta readers to help with inconsistencies, rough patches, and scenes that lose your interest. If you’d like to help, contact Cailin.
Chapter One
Adrianna sat spine straight, hands folded neatly in her lap, knees clasped together, feet flat on the floor, the picture of training excellence. The sligh...

Natural Law – Cailin’s Review
Natural Law by Joey W. Hill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Absolutely loved this book. I found myself rereading scenes even before I finished it. I loved the way the author got into the heads of Violet and Mackenzie. A nurturing, alpha male sub…what could be better? Except for the same thing but a dom. The scene where Violet breaks Mac was just exquisite, but only because ultimately this is what Mac wanted. I don’t think that’s a spoiler, because all through the book you know it’s moving toward that,...

Fifty Shades of Grey Lingerie
I saw an article about the new line of lingerie that E.L. James assisted in designing based on her Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. The line is supposed to make you feel sensual when you wear it. Most of it was pretty stuff. Some a little odd. The one piece I really liked went sadly wrong on the back side.

Danegeld – Cailin’s Review
Danegeld by Susan Squires
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I enjoy Viking historical romances and plain old Viking historical books because I like the untamed brutality of that period of history. Danegeld perches on the edge of not being a romance because it’s not paced like your typical romance. It’s much more realistic. This isn’t a book where the heroine or hero can’t seem to make up their mind without any real reason to keep them from declaring their love. This pair goes through a hell over and over...
