An interesting and possibly useful book. Not one I'm likely to reread, but definitely glad I read it, even if only for awareness/consciousness raising. ...more

Alice by Christina Henry

A very powerful and fun retelling of the Alice in Wonderland tale; definitely one to be re-read over the years. When I say fun, to others this might be dark, twisted and gothic but this, this is just such a good retelling.

Read in two days. Not the best book Christina Henry has written by any means, but a nice slow-burn psychological read. Will do while waiting for other books of hers.

Not terrible, but rather dull and one-sided. Richard was well portrayed as an arrogant, self-centred, prig; Roger an evil scrote of a man, hungry for power at anyone's expense. I skipped large chunks of rather boring text without losing the thread at ...more

An understated book, with the tale and the mythology to the front. If you're looking for gay, it's soft and almost dreamlike (but beautiful) with nothing explicit. Not quite a YA book, certainly not feral or dark, but enjoyable all the same - the sha ...more
