Holistic Health & Wellness through Maximizing Your Energetic Vibration

The objective of this article is to show you that the secret to maximizing your health & wellness is to effectively manage your energetic vibration.

In previous articles we’ve spoken of how quantum scientists close to 100 years ago confirmed that we live in a world of pure energetic vibration. The material world as we know it is far from being static, and everything in our world is at different levels of energetic frequency vibration when viewed at the subatomic level. We live in a sea of vibrating energy – our bodies, our material goods, and everything in nature – is naturally interconnected in that energetic ocean. There is no separation between anything and anyone – the separation we “see” and “feel” is an illusion created to allow our spiritual essence experience material reality and the contrasts that arise from different and inviduated material forms. Add the concept of time to the mix, and we are able to experience “changes” in material states over time and to witness the results of our thoughts and actions play materialize on the canvas of space-time.

Einstein was able to capture the relationship of how our energy vibration transforms into matter by his famous equation E=MC^2

“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.  It can be no other way.  This is not philosophy.  This is physics.”  – Albert Einstein.

The implications of this formula have yet to be understood by the vast majority of the world population. You might think that’s strange – if this is such an important concept, wouldn’t schools, governments, companies, religious institutions, etc – be bending over backwards to ensure its understanding and use among aspects of society?

The answer to that question is that the some of the people who do understand the profound implication of Einstein’s formula very much don’t want you to share in their knowledge. For if you did, you would quickly come to understand that you are much more powerful than you realize. Moreover, you would come to understand how to view everything in reality through understanding its energetic vibration. You would become an informed consumer of energetic vibration – high and pure would be good, low and distorted would be detrimental to your health and well being and your ability to create and control your physical reality (as Einstein pointed out in his quote above).

Corporations, governments, and unscrupulous individuals who don’t have your best interests at heart would no longer be able to fool you into consuming food, water, media, entertainment, and material goods that appear good, but are at their core delivery mechanisms for harmful and distorted low vibration energy that crashes your personal power and disconnects you from the Source Energetic Field (or as the Indians called it – Prana – and the Chinese – Chi) that creates all and is able to heal and regulate all.

“What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.”

– Albert Einstein

If you’ve ever wondered why we collectively fall victim to so many diseases even while billions of dollars are invested every year in the pursuit of cures, then you’ve arrived at the answer. The potential cures do not take into account the energetic vibrational reality of the human physical and mental system and in some cases the treatments actually seriously harm and disrupt those energetic systems. Short term symptom relief may be achieved, but the underlying root cause is never addressed, so the illness returns or further progresses and or a new illness is created through the “treatment”.

The Human Energetic Field

In terms of health and wellness, we must recognize that the human body is just not solely a bio-chemical system. It is more importantly an electro-magnetic energetic frequency system that creates the bio-chemical nature of reality.

If you interfere or distort the human energetic frequencies, you will disturb and disrupt the energy and information regulation of the over 6 trillion cells in the human body and the over 100 million cellular transactions per second that occur.

Cancer as we know, is when a cell has lost “connection” to its regulation mechanism and goes “rogue”. Mainstream medicine however, does not know what the regulation mechanism is  (they don’t think in terms of energetic vibration and the energetic pathways in the body as the Hindus and Chinese discovered 5,000 years ago). So, their only approach is to “kill the rogue cells” and hope the cancer will go away (into “remission”). Of course, since they only treated the symptom and not the root cause of why the cell lost connection with the regulation mechanism, the cancer will come back. And, since in the case of chemotherapy, the approach is to ingest a poison that ends up coming into contact with all cells in the body, you are likely to create new problems and to die of something else other than the original cancer. Chemotherapy in fact only has a 3% cure rate (97% of people who take chemotherapy die within 5 years of treatment). In various surveys, 70% of cancer docs say they would refuse to take chemo themselves or give it to a family member if they got cancer (yet they all provide it to their patients …).

So How Do We Know that the Body is Light / Energy-Driven?

There have been four major areas of clinical and scientific investigation in recent decades that are showing this to be the case:

Electric and Acoustic Based Photography of the the Human Aura.
Measurement of Biophoton light and information transmission within the body.
Measurement of Heart generated Electrical Fields and Information transfer inside and outside the body.
Acupuncture point, chakra, and meridian electrical energy and information communication measurements and mapping within the body along with techniques to remove energy field distortions.

The work in these areas shows that:

Scientists and technologists in the last 20 years have learned more and more that the human body is being regulated by Light Energy and Information.
The 100 Million Cellular actions that happen in our body every second are being coordinated by a field of light energy that contains critical information for the cells to do their work in the various sub-systems of the body.
Anything in your environment that interferes with this human energy field, causes sub-optimal to very harmful effects in your physical, emotional, and mental body systems.

What is High and Low Energetic Vibration?

So, if we want to stay healthy, then maximizing our energetic vibration so that it naturally is able to regulate our body, mind, and emotions is necessary. But what is high vibration and what is low and how does it translate into our daily lives? One of the best conceptual ways to understand this is by the work of David Hawkins, MD,PhD who performed muscle kinesiology testing to determine a person’s energetic response to various stimuli.

Hawkins’ basic approach was to have a person hold out one of their arms straight in front of them, and then the tester would apply pressure down on their open palmed hand while simultaneously stating either a positive or negative word or concept. He would then measure the level of muscle resistance. If the person was able to not let the testers hand push down their arm very much, then it was considered that the person had high muscle strength in the presence of whatever stimuli was provided, and vice-versa. In this fashion, Hawkins was able to create the chart above – essentially stating that when words or concepts that represented things like shame, guilt, apathy, and fear were presented by the tester, subjects had a very weak physiological (or mind-body) response. Whereas when concepts such as love, joy, and happiness were presented, they had very strong physiological responses.

Hawkin’s book, Power vs. Force, The Determinants of Human Behavior is worth reading with an open mind. He attempts to apply the outcomes to a variety of things like being able to determine a person’s state of consciousness which some people don’t find convincing. There are lots of criticisms about the approach and scope, but for our purposes, I think his basic results are useful for providing a simple framework of energetic response in humans to negative and positive stimulus. And, it’s simple for us to gut-check our own experience and understanding against his findings. Meaning, most of us know that the times we are feeling physically strong and healthy correlate with being in a vibrational state of happiness, joy, and love. While when we are fearful or in a hateful state, we find ourselves feeling physically weak and contracted.

If we correlate this back to Einstein’s E=MC^2, then we can state that a higher energetic vibration (E) correlates to a more desirable material reality (M). In other words, by controlling and maximizing our energetic vibration we are directly creating and controlling our material reality. That material reality includes our health, happiness, and material comfort. When we truly grasp this, we realize that we are much more powerful than we realize.

So managing our vibration is the secret. This is essentially what the Law of Attraction is about – you attract (through electro-magnetic principles of thoughts and emotions) into your material world things, situations, people, and health based on the state of your being (your energetic vibration – E – your level of consciousness). But the “Secret” doesn’t really tell you the real secret – that you must become a master of energetic vibration in order to truly manifest powerfully.

A Different Approach to Achieving Wellness – Holistic Maximization of your Personal Energetic Vibration

So before you continue, let’s summarize what we’ve discovered so far about Energetic Vibration (E):

‘E’ is Prana, Chi, Tao, the Divine Source Field, the Quantum Electrodynamic Field, God.
It is the Unlimited Creative Source with Infinite Possibilities.
It is Perfection, Harmony, and Love. It is all of Nature.
You, I and Everything in Reality are Created by It and are Part of It.
Therefore You and I are It. We have the Same Power – if we Allow It.
If we Block, Filter, or Distort it, then we Negatively affect our Health and Creative power. We Disconnect from the Source.
Anything that is Aligned with the Source Field Connects to It (Natural, Alive, the Same As It), anything that is Artificial, Not Living, Toxic, In-Organic – Creates a Weak Connection).
Anything that causes “Separation”, Short-Circuits the connection to the Source Field

The Crashing ‘E’

If you look at the Hawkins’ chart and pay attention to how you are feeling throughout the day, you will come to notice that your energetic vibration is under assault all day long. From the moment you get up till you go to sleep – highly focused and negative forces are at work hoping to keep you from raising your energetic vibration and thus harnessing your true infinite inner power. The reason is that if someone can lower your energetic vibration and stop you from connecting to the Divine Source Field, then they can strip you of your power and take advantage of you. Your defenses are literally down – you are left with little E and must do your best combatting against a sea of equally powerless M’s floating around in your orbit. Low energetic vibration promotes separation and if I can separate you from others and the Source Field, I can manipulate and control you (the classic Divide and Conquer approach).

And how do the “bad guys” go about crashing your E? Here are some examples of how they have weaponized everyday things we do or consume into negative energetic vibration delivery vehicles :

Negative news – literally 24/7. If you look at the content – it’s all about fear, sadness, helplessness, conflict. All the things rock bottom on the Hawkins chart and highly correlated with very low energetic vibration. In the modern western world, people typically are “consuming this negative vibration” all day long and well into the evening, in fact right up till they go to sleep. The irony of course is that though there are clearly troubling things going on in the world, the vast majority of things are just fine in your local environment. But with just six corporations controlling 90% of the  media landscape of the U.S., they have a vested interest in you being unwell and frightened – they profit from it handsomely. And, if you weren’t unwell or scared, you would think and feel better, and then you would start asking a lot of questions and putting together the pieces of what’s really going on, and … well you get the idea, their game of “control over others”, would be over.
Entertainment – the typical television program comedy, drama, action – doesn’t matter – has become utterly frightening over the last 30 years. Compare shows now from the 60’s, 70’s, and even 80’s – you will be shocked. Is it just accidental, how society has evolved over time? Is it just capitalist media barons giving the public what it “wants”? Perhaps to some extent – but the same type of excuse is used by drug dealers – just meeting supply and demand. Either way, the effect on lowering our fellow citizen’s consciousness or energetic vibration is devastating . Add violent sports to the mix and it gets even worse.
Food and Water – with now over 80,000 chemicals infiltrating the world’s food and water , we are being poisoned in a conventional sense and through massive interference with our body’s energetic vibratory fields. You’ll remember from earlier in the discussion, that anything artificial, un-natural, and in-organic interferes with the Source Field. And if something disrupts the source of your physical and mental functioning, it is hard to stay healthy. Yet the people who we rely on to protect us from these issues (EPA, FDA, CDC, etc) do very little to stop the war against our health.  Pesticides, GMOs, tainted vaccines,  toxic pharmaceuticals, and neurotoxins in our water have all been supported and approved by our government’s regulatory bodies. At the same time,  U.S. health costs are rising from $2 Trillion in 2010 to $4 Trillion in 2020. That would make our health care costs the equivalent of the 5th largest economy in the world. Yet, we don’t address the root cause of ill-health…hmmm…why? – because some people are making a lot of money in the process.
Competition and Us vs. Them – our economic systems have been built upon a foundation of competition which naturally creates an us vs. them culture. As an additional by-product, the illusion of scarcity and lack is created. In a zero-sum game, some will win and many will lose. Losing creates fear and therefore crashes your E. For every person working in some type of job in the world, this is a daily occurrence. You’re either worrying about keeping your job because there is no stability in this system, or the natural dynamics of your job put you in an artificial and unhuman state of figuring out ways to out-compete your fellow residents of planet earth. Joy, Love, Peace, and Enlightenment are not part of the competition matrix.

I’ve captured in the chart below how these things play out in an average day of the Western Corporate Warrior (something I was for many years…), but everyone will find many similarities in their day:

The typical day for most people is a yo-yo like experience of rising and crashing energetic vibration. You never rise to or stay at an elevated level of E – a level where you are powerfully in control of creating your material reality.

So what’s the remedy?

I believe we must  take a holistic approach to managing our energetic vibration consumption in all areas of our lives. If we only do some things in a piecemeal way, we’ll remain open to sub-optimal results with serious consequences for our health and wellness. I’ve broken things down into 3 specific categories:

Thought, Sound, and Image Energy
Physical Energy
Electromagnetic Energy

Let’s examine each category separately.

Thought / Sound / Image Energy

Thought

In previous posts I have spoken about how powerful our thoughts are. And, in terms of managing our energetic vibration, my experience is that nothing has as a powerful effect as our thinking. Thinking leads to emotions which leads to changes in energetic vibration which leads to manifesting your physical reality. They are the root cause of your creative power. Learn to still your mind, remain in the present moment, and you’ll then be able to more readily create the reality you want. Anything that interferes with you achieving a calm state of mind is a energy vibration dampener.

In our modern, very noisy world, this is especially difficult to avoid. That’s why meditating regularly is essential achieving higher energetic vibratory states. So are things like Yoga – which is meant to precisely to  connect (Yoga = Yoke) mind and body for greater energetic flow within the body.

Sound

Sound is of course an energy frequency by definition. So sound can be healing or it can be destructive. The content of a sound – a word perhaps, matters. Yet so much of the communication we consume on a daily basis is negative, judgmental, hostile, and unloving. We hear these low energy words on TV, at our places of work, on the radio, and coming out of our own mouths. The quality of sound – of music in particular – matters as well. In our migration to convenience in the digital culture, we left the higher quality sound we were achieving from “old fashioned” devices such as the turntable and vinyl records and went to highly compressed music from MP3’s and low-bit streaming services. Some studies have shown that our brains can tell when there is something missing from the music and that causes distress. If your brain, the control center and router for distributing information throughout the body is disrupted, your physical and mental health for sure will be affected. And, in many ways our hearing is more sensitive than our vision as we evolved needing our hearing more (to tell when danger was coming around the corner) for survival.

Images

Everything is an energetic frequency in our material world and images are extremely powerful. Our brains in fact store information in our subconscious as images, so an image by-passes any need for translation and goes directly into your mind. This is why violent video games, movies, tv shows, and the daily mainstream news are so detrimental to our health and wellness. Since our minds and bodies just process energy, it doesn’t matter to them if something is “real”, “imagined”, or is some type of media “entertainment”. The only thing the mind and body know is that it is experiencing and consuming some type of energetic vibration. So, if your media diet is full of violence, conflict, hate, and more, your mind and body process it as the equivalent of you experiencing those things in your physical reality. Is it any wonder that the U.S. is headed to $4 Trillion of yearly health care costs?

Physical Energy

Our physical system (our body) is fairly robust and can heal and maintain itself if we don’t disrupt its connection to the cleanest and highest source of energy and information that it needs (E). Most of you reading this, have mastered the basics of good nutrition, exercise, and stress management. But when you become an informed consumer of energetic vibration you will naturally become aware of a broader set of criteria for optimum physical health. Here are a number of key areas to become proficient in:

Maximizing Access to Structured, Clean Energetic Vibration in Nature – It is no coincidence that in the first half of the last century, it was common for doctors to prescribe a rest in the “country” for many ailments. Nature – parks, forests, gardens, oceans, lakes, etc., is by definition in Energetic Vibration because plants, trees, flowers, do not distort their connection to the Divine Source Field with free will and human ego-based thoughts. Nature is a Prana or Chi Factory. And as all reality is energetic fields and energy flows and connects seamlessly with other energetic fields, then when you spend time in nature your personal energetic field is being cleansed and upgraded by the much cleaner fields in the park or forest you are walking through. So, normally it is thought people feel better when they are in nature because of the additional oxygen, fresher air, and the visual beauty. All of that is true, but underlying that is the higher energetic vibration of nature which provides the key energy and higher level information your mind-body-spirit complex needs to thrive.
Removing Toxic Chemicals from Your Environment  – Many of the 80,000 chemicals in our environment can be found in personal care products we use every day. From the cleaning products we use in our homes, to the toothpaste, deodorant, and shampoos we use daily, the chemicals in those products (which are inorganic and un-natural) disrupt the energetic vibration signature which has been created by a much higher intelligence than humans. Our bodies are looking for the “clean” energetic signature to regulate the 100 Billion cellular transactions per second taking place in our bodies. That coordination is fine tuned with a great deal of precision. However, if we throw it off by altering the signal that is emanating from the Source Field, then we disrupt the normal functioning of the complex energy and information systems in the body and ill-health results in mind, body, and spirit. The “bad guys” of course want us to believe that the body can withstand all those chemicals “in certain doses”. If that were true would be be spending $4 Trillion a year in healthcare costs in the U.S. alone with rising cases of depression, alzheimers, autism, cancer, etc?
Eating a High Vibration Diet – Just as all of nature is an unadulterated Source Field Vibration in material form, a diet that comes from nature (vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, grains) and which is clean – meaning that it has not been tampered by Genetic Modification (GMO), saturated with pesticides, or mixed with dangerous chemicals and neurotoxins, is likely to be health enhancing and high vibration. This is why eating primarily a non-GMO, organic, plant-based diet is critical to healing the world’s health and environment. Meat, by definition, is dead flesh. It’s clear that dead = low vibration. Moreover, non-organically produced meat is full of harmful chemicals. Add to that the trauma that the animal experienced in the slaughtering process (which is an energetic vibration that stays in the cellular structure of the animal), and you’ve got a perfect vibration lowering food source. This is the reason why many people are now migrating to vegetarian, vegan, and raw food diets.

Daily Exercise – the benefits of exercise, especially cardiovascular benefits, is quite well known. It improves heart function, lowers stress, and therefore lowers inflammation in the body. An interesting thing to add to your typical gym workout is yoga of some type. Yoga is actually a philosophy of mind-body-spirit integration and the exercise piece known in the West is just one facet. The exercise movements of Yoga were actually created to enhance the energetic vibration in the body and help energy move more effectively throughout the body’s energetic pathways. The intention was to not only promote good physical health, but to raise one’s Prana / Chi (E) and therefore connect more powerfully to the Divine Source Field.
Maximizing Intake of Clean Oxygen – Yogic Breathing – from the book  The Hindu-Yogi Science Of Breath  written by William Walker Atkinson in 1903 .”Not only is every part vitalized by the oxygen, but the act of digestion depends materially upon a certain amount of oxygenation of the food, and this can be accomplished only by the oxygen in the blood coming in contact with the food and producing a certain form of combustion. It is therefore necessary that a proper supply of oxygen be taken through the lungs. This accounts for the fact that weak lungs and poor digestion are so often found together. To grasp the full significance of this statement, one must remember that the entire body receives nourishment from the food assimilated, and that imperfect assimilation always means an imperfectly nourished body. Even the lungs themselves depend upon the same source for nourishment, and if through imperfect breathing the assimilation becomes imperfect, and the lungs in turn become weakened, they are rendered still less able to perform their work properly, and so in turn the body becomes further weakened. Every particle of food and drink must be oxygenated before it can yield us the proper nourishment, and before the waste products of the system can be reduced to the proper condition to be eliminated from the system. Lack of sufficient oxygen means imperfect nutrition, imperfect elimination and imperfect health. Verily, “breath is life”.
Earthing – Grounding the Body to Earth – The earth’s surface is full of negatively charged electrons. Your body on the other hand, has excess positively charged free radicals. When you touch the earth with your bare skin, you allow the earth to siphon off those positively charged free radicals. Free radicals (the reason why we try to eat foods high in anti-oxidant properties) are what cause inflammation in the body and inflammation is what is now thought to be one of the major culprits behind many diseases including heart disease and cancer. Humans used to be naturally grounded when we used to walk barefoot and sleep on the ground. Now of course, we rarely ever come into direct contact with the earth, except for a week or two a year when we go on vacation and walk on the beach or have a picnic in the park and take off our shoes and walk on the grass. So a simple solution is to just walk barefoot on the earth more often. That of course may not be convenient, so there are grounding pads and sheets that you can buy (a simple wire is run from the pad or sheet to the grounded circuit in any electrical outlet) and you can enjoy the benefits of grounding indoors all year round.
Consuming High Quality Water which is free of Neurotoxins – Many of the 80,000 chemicals in our environment are of course have found there way into our water systems. Some are actually substances that we have put there on purpose – such as fluoride, a known neurotoxin. Given that up to 90% of our bodies are composed of water, and that the latest scientific thinking has identified a 4th state of water that acts like a crystalline communication network routing energy and information throughout our 6 Trillion Cellular Network, anything that distrupts that communication link is going to harm our health. Most people know to filter their water. The problem is that most filters such as Britta or the single charcoal based units in most refrigerators do not take out the most damaging toxins. Distilled or Reverse Osmosis systems appear to do the best job, so please investigate those.
Avoiding Pharmaceutical Drugs – If you’ve ever looked up the side-effects of any prescription drug, you’ll understand why popping a pill to relieve an ailment is not straightforward. By definition, the pharmaceutical is trying to treat a symptom you’re experiencing, but since most western medicine is not based on understanding the energetic frequency basis of our bodies, the drug while relieving symptoms is also disrupting your natural energetic balance in the body. And, if you follow the approach of most doctors which is to “try” a drug and after a couple of months it doesn’t suit you, try an alternative, you’ve left yourself open to a fairly lengthy time of disruption to your physical systems. That time frame may be enough for other serious issues to develop. For sure, for most severe injuries or problems that require immediate treatment – say you came into the emergency room because of an accident – you need to fast treatment and the appropriate medications necessary for first aid and immediate relief. But for those long-term chronic issues where you may be on medication for many years or the rest of your life, a more thought out approach that addresses the root cause of dis-ease through natural, energy enhancing approaches may prove more health promoting in the long term.
Having Loving Relationships – From the Dawkins chart we know that Love is one of the highest energetic frequencies. We don’t need 50 clinical trials to convince us of this – we know from our own experience – Love (unconditional acceptance of other), is the magic force that uplifts, creates, illuminates, and heals. The more of it our lives the better. And, the more we give, the more we receive – like (frequency) attracts like in universal law.

Electromagnetic Energy

Limiting Wifi – if our reality is essentially energetic frequencies, then other (non-natural) energy frequencies that we come into contact with can affect the natural functioning of our body’s various electromagnetic fields. Wifi is clearly a powerful source of interference to the electrical systems in and around the body. Since Wifi is ubiquitous, it is difficult to disconnect from it and still function in a work setting or even at home. However, it is possible to try and limit your exposure. One way is to buy a simple electronic wall outlet timer and set it to shut off our wifi router while you sleep. This way your mind-body complex will get a chance to disconnect from the wifi grid during the critical period where your body is seeking to rest, rejuvenate, and repair itself.
Avoiding use of Microwave Ovens – We call microwaving food “nuking” for a reason. Bathing your food (which is already depleted in critical nutrients, in radiation not only destroys the remaining nutrients but also alters the foods “natural energetic makeup” which then interferes with the natural frequencies regulating your body. Here is a good article that goes deeper into the issues surrounding the use of microwave ovens.  Upgrade your toaster oven and spend a little extra time re-heating and cooking the conventional way.
Radiation Protective Measures when using Cell Phones – Thankfully the nonsensical denial for close to 3 decades by the cell phone industry that cell phone radiation was not harmful has come to a close. The latest reports and research admit that it is a serious cancer causing issue. Sadly, most people are not using adequate protection and even carry their smartphones in clothing and in close contact to their body throughout the day. The use of anti-radiation phone cases along with wired headsets (bluetooth is just another way to put a radiation device right next to your brain and body’s electrical fields), can significantly enhance your safety.
Radiation Protective Measures when using Computers – The radiation coming from the bottom of your lap-top is very significant. An engineering student and his father, who is a proctologist, discovered how serious the issue is and linked it to the increasing number of testicular cancer cases the father was seeing in his practice. They started the company Safe Sleeve to create products to protect you when using your computer on your lap and even on the desk where radiation can be reflected back up from the surface towards you.
Limiting use of High EM Energy Health Tests – Ironicall some of the modern medical diagnostic machinery uses very high intensity electromagnetic energy to diagnose potential or existing medical conditions. For example a computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images, or slices, of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. This test delivers the equivalent of 1,000 conventional chest x-rays worth of radiation to the patient. For heart-attack patients this a common test they may keep getting throughout the remainder of their lives every 2 years, as a “preventive” measure to identify issues before they become too serious. Unfortunately, the combination of such a high level of radiation also distorts your energetic fields and can end up opening you up to other medical issues. Therefore, low-EM energy alternatives should be explored unless the test is absolutely necessary in an acute or critical emergency situation.

Your are More Powerful Than You Realize

By becoming very intentional and mindful of how we raise or lower our energetic vibration through our thoughts, our physical being, and the material influences in our environment, we can take back control of our inherent unlimited power. Since everything in our existence is energetic vibration at the sub-atomic level, then everything is interacting energetically with everything else. This means to achieve the superior health and wellness which is rightfully ours, we must take a holistic approach that seeks to manage our energetic vibration interactions in all aspects of our lives. We must seek to eliminate all un-natural and in-organic substances which interfere with the various electromagnetic fields of the body and limit or distort our access to the Divine Source Field (E). This coupled with gaining mastery of our thoughts and emotions in a way that leads to energy vibration enhancement rather than degradation, and we have a potent formula for superior health and wellness (M). By doing so, we achieve the following benefits:

Life Migrates from a Limited Set of Possibilities to an Infinite Set of Possibilities as You Access Cleanly the Power of the Source Field to Co-Create Your Reality.
Source Field Alignment Brings Us Into Oneness with All Beings and Nature. Peace and Joy.
Source Energy Alignment Optimizes Every Aspect of Our Human Body Function.
We Achieve Divine Guidance via our Personal GPS which now strongly connected to the source of all Energy and Information (E). No more Wondering “What-to-Do?”. You seek and are guided to the Truth in all things.
Your “What-to-Do” is Aligned with Best Interests of Yourself and Others As All are Connected to the Source.

Essentially, our individual health and wellness leads to the enhanced health and wellness of everyone. I think society would benefit greatly from this type of investment rather than the $4 Trillion going elsewhere. Yes?

Resources for those Walking on the Path to Truth

Would anyone purposely ever want anything but the Truth?

Most of us would answer no to that question. But sadly, the reality of our lives is that from the moment we are born, powerful forces spring into action taking us away from Truth and straight into a master course centered around Greed, Hatred, and Delusion. To break away from the self-destructive mental conditioning that mainstream society provides is an astounding accomplishment when someone achieves it. And what does one get in return for their efforts? They get to reclaim their inherent Divine Power that empowers them with the same unlimited capability to create reality as it does. Fear drops away as the person realizes that their safety and access to abundance is completely within their own control. They are able to harness their Inner Light as the Creator Gods they truly are.

Fortunately, millions of people around the world are experiencing this reunion with their Inner Light. The Light that allows only perfect health, happiness, love, and joy to exist in its presence. And, the good news for others who would like to join them is that we now have more high quality insight and guidance than ever before to assist us on the path towards enlightenment, if that is our destination.

In the service of that destination, this is my suggested list of resources to begin the path to higher levels of consciousness.

This is not meant to be an exhaustive and comprehensive grouping. Rather, it is a representative sampling of works in three key areas that I have found necessary for expanding the mind and opening up the heart. They have the ability to illuminate the path that dedicated seekers can then embark on for further development. As has been said, if one earnestly seeks, he or she shall find. The right teachers then, in various forms, will effortlessly appear as needed for those dedicated to the Truth.

Three Insights to Begin

Ultimately, the best teacher is the one that is inside of you – your higher self who is directly connected to Divine Consciousness. If you can quiet your mind and open you heart you will connect to the best guidance possible through your Higher Self. Therefore, I believe creating a solid meditation practice is an essential first step.
The mind-body in order to communicate clearly with the source field, needs to be cleansed and healed. A process of removing all toxins from your food, water, and other aspects of your personal environment is necessary to achieve mind-body-spirit harmony.
The most difficult but also most rewarding, is overcoming the grip of the Ego on your state of Being. The release of the Ego allows the heart to take its rightful place as the leader in your life and resume dictating “what” to do from a place of love and unity consciousness and allowing the ego to figure out “how” best to do it. With Heart and Mind thus unified, you reclaim the Truth that is your birthright.

Note:

People come into every life time with a different set of experiences and level of consciousness. Depending on where you are, you may already have an innate understanding in some areas and only need to focus on certain things to push forward on the path. In addition, some ways of presenting concepts and material may suit you better than others. Fortunately, there are many resources to choose from – pick the ones that resonate with you the most. And, if you are already well along the path but are interested in new resources to explore – visit the Resources section on Think Smarter World for a much more exhaustive and broader list.

Imagine If …

“Shiva relates to the unitary awareness beyond time and space, the supreme Brahman

or Absolute, a universal consciousness… Shiva is not a creation of the human

mind, rather the human soul is a portion of Shiva’s light cast into

the outer world of time and space. To discover Shiva is

to reclaim our true nature that is all-pervasive and

unbounded, within all and yet ever free.”

American Institute of Vedic Studies

Imagine If:

People approached life everyday, in everything they did, with the objective of being of service to others. They existed in Unity Consciousness, seeing the Oneness with All, and feeling the interconnectedness between all life. What would our world look like? What would it feel like? Take a moment to contemplate it…

We would be giving to others freely, and others would be giving to us. Our sole objective would be to create for the common good. Can you imagine it?

In this amazing world, would it be possible for the following to occur anymore:

Could suffering due to lack of basic living essentials exist in such a world? Would anyone be homeless or hungry?
Could “profit maximization” exist in such a world? Could pyramid and ponzi schemes exist? Could money exist?
Could the earth and its resources be plundered endlessly?
Could “engineered diseases” exist in such a world? Could “medicine” be practiced that only treats symptoms instead of holistically curing the root cause of illness? Would illness itself become a very rare occurrence?
Could wars exist where “dark entities” and shadow governments fund both sides in on-going effort to maintain fear in the population and manipulate events for their personal gain?
Could governance systems exist where “pay to play” was the norm? Would politicians be able to put their interests above all else?
Could it be possible for so many things to remain “coin-operated” – where nothing gets done until someone pays someone else? Could the concept of putting a “monetary value” on literally everything remain – would it make any sense at all? Would your “net-worth” be a ridiculous concept – a human defined by a dollar value – like they do to cattle or as they did in the past with slaves?
Could the concept of advertising and mind-manipulation be allowed?
Could journalists who are not focused on the Truth be allowed to hold their jobs?
Could educational systems continue to exist that treat students as generic widgets being trained to work as cogs in an industrial machine that no longer exists? Could schools continue to exist that rob the passion and creativity from young minds and leave their souls bruised and bewildered?
Could those people who make life a living hell for their co-workers by using them as soul-less props on their personal chessboards exist? Could the senior leaders in those organizations who are responsible for allowing that to happen exist? Could hierarchical, top-down, command and control structures exist?
Could “divide and conquer” strategies employed at every level in society continue to be the norm?
Could 8 people own as much wealth as half of the world’s population?
Could all ethics remain relative with no moral-compass pointing to true-north?

What would it take for this new world to be birthed?

It already has …

The old world is crumbling in front of our eyes – the ever present cycle of cosmic death and re-birth is in full motion. The foundations of the new world are already being erected. Millions of people around the world are architecting it in their hearts and minds. Their consciousness has risen to the point where the new world has no choice but to emerge. Next, the builders will be called to take the plans and begin construction. What a wonderful moment in human evolution…

You won’t see those people on television or hear their press-conference. But if you’re still and silent, you will feel them, their rising consciousness, their will and intention fearlessly birthing a new world, a new earth. Listen, and then join them.

The Merging of the Spiritual and the Material

A bright and insightful person currently attending college and getting her first introduction to Buddhist thought asked me a question the other day that I thought required serious contemplation. She said, if the Buddha is said to have advocated and practiced a minimalist lifestyle, then why is it that I being someone who often speaks and writes with references to Buddhist philosophy, seems to enjoy much of what 21st century material life provides?

I believe the Buddha at his core, was trying to get across two key concepts: (1) The temporary and impermanent nature of all reality, and (2) That the elimination of all suffering is related to understanding concept (1) and in turn releasing oneself from attachment to the transitory states that make up our human lives.

The temporary and impermanent nature of reality applies to all its aspects – material things, the state of our bodies, our thoughts, emotions, and situations. There is only one Ground or Source of Being and that does not change. Everything else is a temporary phenomenon.

Given this, a Buddhist ethos of minimalism or light living would seem to be completely aligned with the impermanent nature of all reality. Hanging on too tightly to something that is constantly changing and not real can only lead to delusion and suffering.

Though I dont like to label myself as a follower of one thing or another, if pushed, I would say I consider myself a New Spiritualist and someone living the Life of a Future Human – someone who has fully integrated into their being a post-religious mystical approach to life in the 21st century. This philosophy certainly contains many elements of Buddhism along with other tenets of a non-dualistic mystical approach to achieving Unity Consciousness or Oneness. So, from my perspective I think the question of can you be deeply Spiritual and yet enjoy the various aspects of the Material World, is a very important question.

The question at its heart asks – can you maintain a strong connection to the Divine Source within you and translate that in a creative and positive way into the material reality you choose to experience on a daily basis? Under what conditions can this be achieved?

Can Heart and Mind meld so that Heaven and Earth can merge?

I think there are several operating conditions which define a positive approach to experiencing the material world.

I have a simple five-point test:

Does what I am consuming as a material good or experience help raise my energetic vibration – to help bring more Joy, Love, Beauty, and Happiness into my life and do so in a way that is life affirming and acknowledges and supports the interconnectedness between myself, others, and the planet?
Does the product or service help me expand my personal creative potential or help me experience someone elses? The creative process is inherently spiritual – it is then, in the present moment, where we are most alive and connected to the Source. The creator or artist who is in touch with their higher self is able to channel the divine light into their work and embed that energy signature. When we consume their creation, we get to share in that divine energy as well.
Did the making of the product or delivery of the service recognize the inherent divinity in those that created the item and those that will consume it? In other words does it come from a place of service to others, or mainly from an organization or person that is focused on service to self (no matter how cleverly disguised) and embraces the concept of profit maximization at all costs? Does the product or service Do No Harm?
Does this product or service help me in my desire to be of service to others ?
Does the product or service create more unity among people or does it foster separation and exclusivity and reduce access for all?

*Notice that none of the questions talk about how much money the product or service costs. Thats because I believe money ends up distorting the true nature of something. It puts an arbitrary value on the item. It forces you to judge the merits of something on whether you or someone else can afford it rather than on the intrinsic benefits it provides. When we wake up to the reality that we are living in a universe of unlimited capability and abundance then we will realize anything and everything can be achieved and the economic cost of something will go away. We will create in ways that have no limitations. Money as a command and control mechanism which is meant to limit and distort our creative capability will disappear from this planet.

In addition to meeting our spiritual goals, if we dontalsoenjoy material life, then it seems we would end up wasting a wonderful opportunity to experience the Divine emerging in Material Form. But clearly there are positive, creative, and life affirming ways to do so which recognize the inherent unity and oneness of us all. The types of products and experiences that elevate our human existence as close to divine consciousness as possible. It is those material pleasures that we need to cherish and support. And, if we continue to maintain the ethos of always seeking the Light, the Divine Essence in ourselves and Everything, then all of our choices will align accordingly in the material world and the material world will reflect back our thinking in the most wonderful ways.

At the root, however, I do believe we come into material form with one over-arching goal in every lifetime – to achieve Un-Conditional Love for all beings and the natural world. To achieve this level of Unity Consciousness, many obstacles are placed in our way and provide the catalyst for our growth. We learn through experiencing those contrasts (good and bad, light and dark), until we can see that they are all just infinite reflections of One Source. That is when we are no longer fooled and we achieve peace and reclaim our inherent Divine Creative Power. With this goal always in mind, it becomes very easy to choose what aspects of material reality one wishes to experience and support.

The Divine and the Ego

The Divine says heres an idea that will utilize the capability and resources of humanity for the common good. The Ego says, thats great, let me see how I can monetize it for massive personal gain. Uber anyone?

That exchange happens countless times every day. The exiting of the Uber CEO (he still remains on the board) is just the latest high profile example. A wonderful idea that in the hands of someone with a faulty moral compass can become hurtful to others rather than helpful.

But what is the root cause?

The business model of starting new ventures of course is a key issue – venture capitalists who invest early and with high risk expect “big returns for their investment. Not surprisingly, these firms, who are all on the board of Uber, have stayed quiet and have not acted until just recently, because they dare not jeopardize their investment and outsize returns. Their moral compass has basically one marking on it – a big $ sign – and they take action only once the risk / return ratio goes high enough and the needle moves significantly off the mark.

So the actions of the CEO of Uber is a symptom of the system that supported him. That doesnt mean hes not culpable for his actions, but it does point to the fact that to solve issues like his, we must deal with the root cause underneath – the greed of the capitalist system which has been created to replace the human soul with profit. More specifically, the idea that we are separate entities with no inherent connection between us – which allows weak hearts and minds to feel it is ok to manipulate others for their personal gain.

This is child-level consciousness, yes? Yet, we allow such individuals in business, government, and others organizations to lead us every day in this manner. Does it make sense to allow children to drive the bus? It is high time for those with “adult level consciousness” to take over the wheel.

Mystic Insights No. 11 – If You Want Something, Do More of It

In times of stress, we humans have a tendency to do the opposite of what would actually get us closer to our goal. If we are frustrated in our desire for peace in the world, we become agitated (un-peaceful) in our attempt to obtain peace. In other words, we end up contributing and adding to the thing we are looking to eradicate.

A much more effective means to grow something, is to do more of it. So, if peace is what you seek, then you would become more peaceful and quiet, and raise your energetic state to that of which you desire. In the world of energy, like attracts like, so in this way you would create from your own efforts, your own state of being what you seek to have happen.

You are much more powerful than you realize

This doesnt mean we dont stand-up for what is right, but it does mean that how we go about doing so has a real impact on our ability to achieve the objective.

Likewise, if it is a loving world you seek, then being un-loving towards others who you think are the cause of the problem, only helps create more discord and less love. In this way, we must lean-in to what we seek, do more of it, rather than lean-out and create the opposite of our goal. If you want the world to be more abundant and generous, then having a mindset of abundance and being in a generous state of mind in all aspects of your life will manifest that reality for you. Gratitude also is a key part of the abundance mindset where we recognize the inherent beauty and worth in everything.

People who dont have our best interests at heart, understand this concept of creating our reality very well. To hinder and minimize our immense creative power, they purposely introduce fear inducing tactics through various forms of media for us to react in ways that are the opposite of our desires. By doing this, they get us to participate in sabotaging our own objectives. Dont fall for their simple but effective tricks. Be the change you want to see in the world first by raising your energetic vibration to that level and things around you will respond in kind.

The world is truly a mirror of our of collective consciousness – lets put our best image forward

Living the Life of a Future Human

Have you ever wondered what the life of a human 50, 100, or 200 years from now would look like? The lives we live today are dramatically different than 100 years ago, and with the exponential pace of change, it’s fair to say that 100 years into the future the lifestyle change would be even more dramatic.

Most of the time when this type of question is posed, the focus tends to be on material differences – will there be robots everywhere, flying cars, etc. In addition, the answers tend to reflect a view that the future is out of our control. I think both approaches miss the true nature of our reality – that we are living in a multidimensional energetic frequency based existence which we create through the power of our interconnected consciousness. And, as energy vibration is limitless and creates all material reality (e=mc2), then we live in a truly limitless and abundant world. We are much more powerful than we realize. The only real limitation is raising the frequency vibrations of our thoughts and emotions to manifest the existence that we deeply desire. Furthermore, getting to that understanding is our only way of living on a sane, peaceful, and harmonious planet.

In these turbulent times, I’m sure many of us wish we could live life differently (or a different life…). Over the last five years, I’ve put this desire into action, and so when people ask me what I do, I often reply that “I live the life of a future human”. What this means is that I have migrated into a lifestyle and way of being that I believe most of us would embrace if there weren’t any significant material limitations we needed to contend with.

As I’ve lived this phase of my life, I’ve come to understand that there are some basic universal truths that one would know and pursue in a future enlightened human world. A world that would literally seem like “heaven on earth”.

The 3 Vital Truths

Reincarnation – Future humans would be born knowing and be freely told by their parents and society, that they are spiritual beings that have come into material form into this time and place to experience material life and further expand their spiritual development. Furthermore, we would understand that our soul never dies and thus death of our body is not an ending, but a transition back to our spiritual form. This is not a “once and done” trip. In addition to this knowledge, we would be given the tools to connect to our past lives and come to understand our state of spiritual development and what our objectives for this lifetime are. We would then come to recognize that by following our passions and creating experiences that serve ourselves and the higher good of all others that we are fulfilling our spiritual destiny. “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.  It can be no other way.  This is not philosophy.  This is physics.”  – Albert Einstein.

Infinite Variations of One Source, One Mind, One Consciousness

Everything is Vibrational Energy – The concept that all existence is energetic vibration would be a given in everything a future human does. From managing one’s physical and mental health, to creating scientific breakthroughs, everything would be based on the core understanding of energetic vibration. We would at last have abundant health and access to technologies that are safe to our mind-body-spirit and work for our highest good. In addition, our societies and economies would be vastly different since once you harness the potential of the “zero-point-field” of infinite energy, then all basic needs can be created literally “out of thin air”. No more shortages of anything – complete unlimited material abundance. “Jobs” as we know them now would not exist. Moreover, understanding that we are energetic beings living within a frequency based reality would free us up to embrace our true power – our ability to connect via our hearts and minds to an infinite field of information through concepts such as intuition and telepathy. We would truly move beyond our self-imposed material limitations as we would embrace our reality as Divine Beings and unblock the creative power that is attempting to work through us to manifest the joyous reality we all dearly desire. “When your energy vibrates at the frequency of love, it is the best protection in a hostile world and the best way of creating a better one.”

~Jay Kshatri

The Goal of Every lifetime is to Develop Unconditional Love for All. The understanding that there is One infinite source of energy and information that is creating and working through everything in material form (what some call God, the Universe, or the Divine Source), would guide every life. If everything is One, then we are all connected, like the cells within a body. And like cells, we have unique functions and characteristics but we serve each other for the greater good of all. In the human body, when a cell ‘disconnects’ from its peers, it is described as cancer. The cancerous cell instead of performing its function in complete coordination and unity with its peers, goes off on its own to the detriment of the others and even tries to kill the other cells. Our current human society has many of those that are “disconnected” from the Source. The future human would live in conscious recognition of the Divine Source flowing through him or her and recognize that itself is thus the Source in material form. Therefore loving others is the same as loving itself because the ‘other’ is itself. In the time and place we have lived up till now, this crucial learning takes many lifetimes to master, and relatively few manage to reach the goal. In the future, the vast majority of humans would reach the destination as the goal would be clearly understood by everyone and society would be structured to support each individual in achieving this objective. If everyone in our current reality understood just these three things, we would have a dramatic rise in consciousness. Contrast this to what current humans are taught from birth:

There are limited resources and too many people. In addition, we only have one lifetime and death is therefore a fearful ending. So try to get as much for yourself as possible while you have the time and saturate yourself with material pleasures and entertainment.
We are the only beings in the whole universe and we are the most advanced humans or beings that have ever lived on the earth. In other words, this is as good as it gets and maybe we’ll figure something out in the future.
Competing and winning over others is a good thing that is to be celebrated. This then creates a culture of ‘separation’ where winners and losers are considered a normal part of everyday reality. If it’s ok for some to lose in one category of life (such as sports or business), the mind then is open to there being losers in many other categories. We then become conditioned to thinking that other people suffering and not being taken care of is ok – they’re not winners. Some “human cells win and some lose” and the winners get to take from the losers. Cancer indeed.
The world is only matter – and if you want to survive learn to physically move matter around (and get people to do what you want) – versus changing your energetic vibration and having the matter conform accordingly.
Following your passion (your soul’s objective for its development in any given life time) is too risky and not a good way to earn enough money to survive. And, if what you do for a living further creates bad outcomes for society overall, don’t pay too close attention, that’s for someone else to worry about.
The Earth is a big rock with some resources. It is not a living, breathing, conscious entity with its own energetic frequency characteristics that is in fact interconnected with and sustaining us. And since we don’t see the interconnectedness of things, we don’t recognize that by hurting the Earth, we directly hurt ourselves.

Hopefully you can see that the current “core teachings” for humans ensure that they disconnect from the Divine and Infinite Source. Fear and selfishness is what is taught instead with the objective of mind-controlling an entire planet for the benefit of a very few number of people. For if you can keep people in fear and create a culture of separation, then you can divide and conquer them. That’s exactly what has taken place.

So, how does the future human live when they understand the 3 VitalTruth’s listed above? Here are some thoughts:

Collaborates and Shares Freely

The future human realizes that it is people that create everything, not money. In current society, we’ve been brainwashed into thinking that no one would do what’s necessary for society to function unless they are “compensated” for it. Money is the vehicle for that compensation and it allows people to exchange one set of resources (their intellectual and physical energy) for other people’s resources. This of course does work up to a point but also comes with an enormous set of baggage that has left the vast majority of world citizens in poor condition.

At the end of the day, it still remains that money doesn’t create anything, people do. So, once people realize that as long as they contribute some of their unique skills to the common good, coupled with certain key technologies that have been withheld from us, then everything can be created without money. This concept is most well developed in recent times, by Michael Tellinger who is leading the Ubuntu Movement. See this two part article I’ve written previously 0n how it works. I believe Ubuntu along with elements of Jacque Fresco’s Venus Project point the way to where an enlightened humanity will emerge free from its shackles of money and emerge into a post-capitalist world of unlimited creativity and abundance for all.

Ubuntu – A World of Unlimited Abundance and No Money
The Venus Project – Beyond Poverty, Politics, and War

Lives Life with Truth, Transparency, and Moral Clarity

The future human once he or she understands the 3 Vital Truths and the true nature of reality – that we are highly interconnected spiritual beings, would find it absurd to knowingly hurt or take advantage of, manipulate, or abuse anyone else. In fact, he or she would go out of their way to help others, be completely truthful in all their communications and dealings, and embrace a level of moral clarity based on service to others that few achieve in our current society. They would furthermore attract complete truth into their lives as that’s the level of frequency vibration they would exist at. They would “know” things that most current humans don’t and fooling them would be very difficult.

In addition, there would be no fear in any of their interactions because the normal fears associated with money, jobs, and ego driven needs to be “more than someone else” would be absent. They would understand that they are “much more than merely their body”. As a result, complex legal agreements and harsh laws would no longer be necessary to protect large groups of people from being taken advantage or hurt by other people and institutions in society. Humanity would have transcended the extreme sense of separation that causes it so much grief and suffering and instead understand that Truth is all that matters, everything else is just a temporary illusion.

Truth Clarified
The Perception of Separateness – The Root of All Fears

Lives Daily Life Guided by It’s Soul / Higher Self

The future enlightened human having a firm understanding of the multi-dimensional state of reality, would have a firm connection to its soul and higher self. He or she would take direction in all of life affairs from their higher inner guide which is intimately connected to the Divine Source of All and put the ego back into its rightful place as the servant and not the leader. The Spirit guides and provides the roadmap for what is to be achieved in each life time and the ego is to translate those objectives into tangible actions in the material world. The Ego would not be the “decider”.

“Until you practice surrender, the spiritual dimension is something you read about, talk about, get excited about, write books about, think about, believe in — or don’t, as the case may be. It makes no difference. Not until you surrender does it become a living reality in your life.”

~Eckhart Tolle

This is a form of “surrender” to your spiritual self that most people today find extremely uncomfortable. It is a symptom of the “disconnection and separation” strategy employed against humanity. Admittedly, no one likes to surrender to anything, but the surrender in this context should be a most welcome thing. For surrendering the Ego to the Higher Self reunites you with your inherent Divine Power that is infinitely more powerful and effective than anything the Ego can come up with on its own. So what you give up is actually very small in order to get something that’s infinitely large. You reclaim your rightful place as the Creator God you are. The Creator God in you moreover, wants to be unique, infinitely creative in all its endeavors and has the ability to do so in a totally harmonious and supportive manner with others. That’s Heaven on Earth …

Co-Creating with Source Energy – The New Paradigm of Success

“In times of drastic change, the learners inherit the future. They are equipped to live in a world that no longer exists.”-Eric Hoffer

So How Do We Get There?

Let yourself picture what life would be like if you, your family, the people you work with, your friends, and everyone else lived life in the 3 major ways just described above. I believe we would create the most beautiful world imaginable. Love, joy, harmony, and beauty would fill every nook and cranny on this beautiful blue and green planet. Our spirits would soar to unbelievable heights and we would enjoy a level of creative collaboration on a scale never before seen on earth.

The change we’re looking for, is going to come from within us. We are truly who we have been waiting for. Yes, it looks bleak out there now, but many who have awakened are working hard to put the pieces in place for a much brighter tomorrow. But they need more people to join the path and to make a concerted effort to raise their level of consciousness to new heights. Incremental change won’t get us there nor will keeping one foot in the old ego driven fear based model while dipping a toe in the truth filled enlightened reality of the future. We need more commitment, less fear, and the willingness to expand love to a much wider circle than we have been programmed to accept.

For you see, the Future Human is not a reality that is 50, 100, or 200 years away. That dramatic change in our existence is upon us right now to choose, embrace, and transform into.  In fact, the train is “preparing to depart the station”. All who choose to Ascend to the life of a Future Human, a life of Harmony, Peace, Love, Joy, and Service to Others, must decide if they are going to claim their rightful seat or not. The Great Conductor has set the time of departure. The moment has come for us who have travelled together for many lifetimes on our journey of the Spirit to decide if we are boarding or not  … Are You Going with Me?

The Bhagavad Gita and the Heros Journey to Unity Consciousness

Ancient texts such as the Bhagavad Gita from India which are full of myth and metaphor are difficult for our modern minds to process. The Gita was written some time between the 2nd century B.C. and the 2nd century A.D. and based on events that are said to have taken place around 3,000 BC. Therefore, much of the story was maintained through passing down of oral traditions. We should acknowledge that what is written may not be 100% accurate to the events they describe and is most likely tuned to the time period, cultural norms, and particular consciousness development needs of the population being addressed. In addition, it is filtered through the unique consciousness of the scribe.

However, within that, there are those things that are based on universal laws that transcend time and place. Those are the ones we need to keep alive in our awareness. We can sense through the words and meanings, how high an energetic vibration of truth the text emanates. We can also check how what’s written corrolates and supports other high consciousness teachings of the past or present. From that perspective, the teachings of the Buddha, the Gnostic Gospels of Jesus, the poetry of Rumi, and the words of Lao Tse, and the Bhagavad Gita’s non-duality mystical teachings certainly score highly.

Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey

Nonetheless, the reality remains that Myth and Metaphor can end up covering up or confusing core truths. Something that at times was done on purpose (as a code to hide knowledge from those who may use it for evil purposes as an example). At other times in history, when literacy rates very very low and means for easily documenting and sharing knowledge and wisdom were none existent, vivid stories and myths that could be memorized and orally shared were more effective at transmitting teachings.

Mythological researcher Joseph Campbell showed that most of the great myths followed a path he coined the Hero’s Journey – the quest for personal mastery and renunciation of the ego, the victory of light over the dark, and ultimate (re)-union with the Divine Source within.

The Gita is a master-class in the Hero’s Journey and reflects that path that every single one of us takes through countless life times to master. Many enlightened souls and ascended masters have taken human form throughout history to teach the same basic teaching of non-dualistic understanding (there is no us and them, there is only One), leading to union with the Divine. Their teachings were shaped to reflect the culture and time period of the people they lived among but the core universal laws always shone through.

In recent human history, we can see the progression of these core teachings from Krishna’s time through the ages to the Buddha, Plato, Jesus, the European Enlightenment Thinkers, the Theosophist Movement of the late 1800’s and first half the 1900’s, the migration of Eastern thought to the West of the 1950’s and 1960’s and into the present day New Spiritualist movement. Many people have worked steadfastly to keep the flame of Truth alive during man’s quest towards enlightenment and ascension to higher dimensions.

Whats particularly interesting is that now in the 21st century, where our science has progressed to an advanced stage, we can see the spiritual principles reflected in quantum science principles. On the surface science and spirituality appear to be two different things. It’s true they use two completely different languages, but whatever truth they speak must be by definition the same thing. Many argue that our science proves that what religious dogma says is untrue. But that’s comparing apples and oranges. When you compare spiritual truths (versus the religious dogma) as revealed by Buddha, Jesus in the Gnostic Gospels (versus various Bible editions), and Krishna in the Gita, now you start to see the intersection of Science and Spirituality.

In fact, philosopher KenWilber showed quite convincingly in his book Quantum Questions – The Mystical Writings of the World’s Greatest Physicists, that the pioneering quantum scientists in the early 1900’s often spoke about their spiritual beliefs and how mystic views influenced their understanding of how the cosmos worked. Which of course leads us to contemplate a future where Spirit is no longer kept separate from anything we do – and instead spiritual understanding of the true nature of our reality will naturally infuse every aspect of our lives. Our Collective Consciousness will merge with the Divine and Spirit and the Material World will no longer be separate – truly, Heaven on Earth. Which is exactly what the great spiritual teachers have been trying to have us understand and implement for thousands of years. But each of us has to do our part, to take up our Hero’s Journey back to the Divine Source.

And that’s where the Bhagavad Gita comes in. There exist many translations of the ancient text – some provide just translation and others provide interpretation and commentary. Mataji Devi Vanamalis The Complete Life of Krishnafalls in the later category. I found her succinct interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita’s eighteen chapters, which are just a handful of pages from her wonderful book, to be beautiful and full of truth. She does a great job of teasing out the timeless spiritual essence that is as applicable today as it was thousands of years ago. I have appended appended her text below and hopefully you’ll find it inspirational. I have included links to an original translation as well as additional resources at the end of the post. Hope you enjoy.

from Chapter 25, Srimad Bhagavad Gita

Aum, O Mother Bhagavad Gita, consisting of

eighteen chapters and showering the immortal

message of nonduality, which is the destroyer of

rebirth, composed within the Mahabharata by the

ancient sage Vyasa, by which Arjuna was illumined

by Lord Narayana himself. On thee, O Mother, I

meditate.

“Arjuna told Krishna to take the chariot to the center of the field between the opposing armies so that he could observe both sides and get an overall picture of the situation before the battle commenced. Obedient to his role as a charioteer, Krishna, the Lord of all the world, obeyed the command of his friend Arjuna and drove the chariot to this no-mans land between the opposing armies. Arjuna, the mighty hero of the age, surveyed the opposing army and saw not his enemies but his cousins, friends, relations, teachers, nephews, and grassier. A tremendous psychological revulsion welling up in him. The full impact of the terrible destruction that was to take place hit him like a blow in the solar plexus. His whole body trembled with the shock, his mind reeled, his mighty bow, the Gandiva, fell from his nerveless grasp, and he collapsed in a heap on the floor of the chariot. Bringing forth many ethical and moral arguments for avoiding such a conflict, this might bowman told the Lord that he would not fight. To him, who was thus in such a potable condition, Lord Krishna, his friend, his philosopher, and God, imparted the most marvelous spiritual instruction, the highest spiritual instruction that can be given to humanity, known as the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, or The Song of God. The Lord chose to sing his song in the middle of a battlefield with the background of drums and conchs and not in the silence of the forest, the sanctity of a temple, or the peace of an ashram. What was his purpose in choosing such a location. Arjuna and he had been very close. They had often been alone together when the Lord could have advised him, but he had not chosen to do so. Why was this? Why did he pick this particular location?

The philosophy of the Gita is not for the weak or cowardly person who is afraid to face life as it is. It is for the heroic one, who is ready to face the challenges of life in the effort to evolve into godliness. The Bhagavad Gita does not teach an ethical sentimentalism that loves to look on nature as good and beautiful and refuses to face her grim and frightening mask. Unless we have the courage to face existence as it is, we will never be able to arrive at a solution to its conflicting demands. Harmony has to be achieved in and through the disharmony that we cannot deny. War and destruction seem to be the principle not only of our material lives but of our mental lives as well. Life is a battlefield of good and evil forces. We are placed in the center of this field, now swayed by the good, now drawn by the evil. As in the Mahabharata war, the latter appears to be far stronger than the former.

Like Arjuna, we stand in this no-mans land between the opposing forces. Every moment we are faced with decisions and controversies. Perplexed and torn between the warring forces within ourselves., we know not which way to turn. The famous pictorial representation of the Bhagavad Gita, in which Arjuna is seated in the chariot with Lord Krishna holding the reins of the four white prancing horses, is an allegory of our conflicted life. The chariot represents the body, with Arjuna the jicama, or the embodied soul, seated within. Lord Krishna is the Paramatma, or the cosmic soul, who has ever been his boon companion but whom he has not recognized as the Supreme. The four horses represent the four aspects of the mind: manas, buddhi, ahamkara, and chitta (mind, intellect, ego, and collective consciousness). This mental equipment drives us like uncontrollable horses, hither and thither, in its mad quest for enjoyment. Arjuna, the embodied soul, was faced with a violent crisis that seemed quite incompatible with his aspirations for a spiritual life, or even a moral life. But he had the sense to realize that by himself he was hapless, and therefore he had given over the reins of his life into the capable and willing hands of his divine charioteer, who steered him through this dangerous battle with ease, protected him, and led him to a glorious victory.

In all their years of friendship, Arjuna had never thought of turning to Krishna for advice because he had always considered himself competent to solve his own problems. Now, at that crucial hour when he should have been at the peak of his mental and physical powers, he found himself a wreck, his mind torn and perplexed as to his duty, and his body weak and helpless. Only then did he think of turning to the Lord, and having surrendered his ego, he begged him to come to his aid.

The Lord within us, who is our boon companion, waits patiently for us to play out our game of make-believe as the sole hero of our lifes drama. He waits patiently until the day dawns when we stumble and realize that without the director we are helpless. Only then do we turn to him for help. At this point, the Lord rushes to us like a loving mother, points out the clear-cut path of duty, assists us to avoid forces of evil, and even carries us across the treacherous crosscurrents of life, if necessary. The message of the Gita is thus addressed to the fighter, the person of action, for whom life is a battlefield, as it is to all of us. Kurukshetta (battlefield of the Kurus) has to be conquered before reaching the haven of dharmakshetta (field of virtue). Life is not merely a battlefield but also a field where righteousness prevails.

The teaching of the Gita is therefore not merely a spiritual philosophy or an ethical doctrine but a yogashastra, which gives us a clear idea of the practical application of these doctrines in daily life. The recipient of the doctrine is Arjuna, the prototype of the struggling human soul who is ready to receive the great knowledge through close companionship and increasing nearness to the divine self within him, embodied as his charioteer. The teacher of the Gita is, therefore, not only the God who is transcendent but also the God within us, who unveils himself through an increasing knowledge. He is also the God in us who instigates all our actions and toward whom all human life proceeds and travels. He is, at once, the secret guide to our actions, the highest source of knowledge, and our closest friend, companion, and relation.

That is why the Gitas message is still as fresh as when it was first given five thousand years ago, for it is always renewable in the personal experience of every human being. The central idea is to reconcile and effect a unity between the inner, highest spiritual truth in ourselves and the cosmos on one hand and the outer actualities of our life and action on the other. Thus, it is a guide for each one of us in our day-to-day lives. Whatever the problem we might face, whether horrifying or sanctifying, it can be solved by the application of the Gitas teachings. Its meaning is so deep that the more we read it, the more we learn from it, and the more we live according to its teaching, the more our level of consciousness rises. Its message is of eternity, and so it has a timeless significance for all of us. It is not a message conveyed in a mere temporal language to suit a specific occasion. Rather, the occasion was taken to convey to the eternal individual the knowledge of its relationship with the Eternal Absolute. The union of the jivatma (the individual embodied soul) with the Paramatma (the Supreme Spirit or Cosmic Soul) is the final consummation of the Bhagavad Gita. The word gita means song and the Bhagavad Gita is the Song of God and therefore the song of life – of existence and omniscience, leading to bliss – sat (truth), chit (consciousness), and ananda (bliss).

The first chapter is known as Arjuna vishada yoga, or the yoga of Arjunas despondency, in which he refuses to fight with his relations,. The Lord listens to his arguments quietly, and it is only in the second chapter that he begins his beautiful sermon. Krishna explains to Arjuna that each person has a certain duty in life, his swadharma, which depends on his station, birth, and position in society as well as on his nature. This duty should be followed regardless of personal prejudices and with attachment to the fruits. The work itself brings its own reward.

The second chapter gives the philosophy of sankhya yoga, or the yoga of wisdom, in which the Lord declares the immortality of the soul and mortality of the body. We grieve, for we think we are the body and therefore mortal. This is the root cause of all sorrow. The moment one understands that one is the atman alone and the body is a mere appendage that the atman takes and uses for its own purpose and then discards like a won-out garment, the there will be an end to all fears, especially the fear of death. Even though we know ourselves to be the immortal soul, we have a duty to carry out the work appointed to us in life. This should be done while maintaining a balance of mind in the face of all dualities such as pleasure and pain, gain and loss, treating alike victory and defeat. The grandsire Bhishma was a perfect example of the sthithaprajna, or the person of perfection, as portrayed in the second chapter.

In the third, fourth, and fifth chapters, Krishna delineates the glorious path of karma yoga, or the yoga of action. All of us have been given organs of action by which we can make our way in the world. The law of the cosmos is to be endlessly active. Therefore, we who are parts of this active universe cannot choose to remain inactive, even for a minute. Yet there is a mistaken understanding that if a person remains inactive as far as the organs of action are concerned, this can be called inaction. This is a misrepresentation of the law of karma, says Krishna. The greatest action is done by the mind, and even one who is inactive physically is never inactive mentally. Again, there is a mistaken notion that physical action alone binds us to the law of karma. The Lord asserts that is not action that binds, for if that were true, no one could ever become liberated since no one can be totally actionless. What binds us is the mind, which imposes certain reasons for doing the action, primarily the burning desire for the benefits of the action. Thus it is that the Lord makes his famous statement in the second chapter: Your right is to the work alone and not to the fruits thereof.’

Karma binds only when it is done for purely selfish reasons. The same action, when done selflessly with no attachment to the results and in a spirit of surrender to the Divine, becomes converted to karma yoga, a purifying process that leads to liberation, or freedom, from the cycle of birth and death. When karma is blended with the glorious vikarma of love, then it transmuted into worship and can be offered to the Divine, just as one would offer a flower or fruit during the course of worship. Whatever the nature of the work that one is called upon to perform in the discharge of ones duty in life can considered an act of worship, which can take us to mukti, or liberation. To renounce the action physically and dwell on it mentally is denounced vehemently by the Lord as the action of a hypocrite. Thus, a sanyasi who has physically renounced his hearth and home and retired to the Himalayas but continues to dwell upon objects of renunciation with longing is deluding himself. He is not a true renouncer.

A householder who continues to discharge his duties in a spirit of detachment and as an offering to the Divine is the true renouncer. We have only one right and that is the right to do our duty in a spirit of yajna, or sacrifice. The whole of creation works with the spirit of yajna. Nothing is done for oneself alone. Human beings alone defy this law and thus suffer, for no one can flout the cosmic laws with impunity. All of creation is a well-knit whole. Each and everything in the cosmos is irrevocably bound to everything else. Those who refuse to see this and act purely for selfish reasons live in vain. Suffering and rebirth alone will be the consequence.

The sixth chapter gives a simple and effective method of dhyana, or meditation, by which the mind can be trained to achieve union with God. From the seventh chapter onward, the Lord touches on bhakti yoga, or the yoga of devotion. The Supreme possesses a twofold nature of matter and spirit. Matter is his lower nature. A true devotee is one who learns to see the spirit alone, shining through every atom of matter. After many lives of progressive spiritual attainment, one acquires this type of spiritual vision that sees Vaasudeva (the Lord) alone in everything. Such a soul is rare indeed! Vasudeva sarvamiti sa mahatma sudurlabha (rare indeed is the noble soul who can see everything as Vasudeva, as divine).

The eighth chapter deals with the little known and thus greatly feared state called death. The Lord tells Arjuna that whatever thought grips the mind at the time of death is the one that will propel the soul and decide the nature of its future birth. Thus one who wants to attain God after death has to think of him steadfastly at the time of death. But this is not as simple as it sounds, for at the time of death, the mind automatically flies to the thought of that object that has possessed it during its sojourn in the world. If money has been the object of our lifes pursuit, to money the mind will fly at the time of death. Thus the Lord tells Arjuna that if he wants to think of God at the moment of death, he will have to habitate the mind to think of him constantly. Mam anusmara yudya cha (Think of me constantly and fight). Thus the yoga of the Gita involves a twenty-four affair with the Divine Beloved, culminating in a total fusion at the time of death, when the physical body drops away and there is perfect union with the Divine.

Chapter nine gives the mystic secret by which one may attain liberation even in this very life. A devotee should surrender not only all outer actions but all inner thoughts at the lotus feet of the Lord. Even the negative thoughts should be surrendered, for he will slowly bring about a transmutation of the dross into gold. The one who is thus in constant communion with him has no need to worry about anything any more, for the Lord gives a solemn promise that he himself will take care of his or her material and spiritual welfare. The Lord will supply all his wants, however mundane, leaving the person free to continue spiritual pursuits, and he will lead such a one to salvation just as he did the Pandavas. Helpless and downtrodden, buffeted by the faithless winds of fate, they achieved victory and recovered their lost heritage only because the Lord was every with them, through the gory river of battle, as will be seen. The promise he makes to Arjuna is in fact given to all of us. Kaunteya pratijanihi na me bhakta pranashyati (O Arjuna, I pledge to you that my devotee will never perish).

Chapter ten gives the vibhuti yoga, or the yoga of divine glories, so that the mind of the devotee may learn to see him in all things both glorious and mundane. To begin with, we must train ourselves to see him in the majestic things like the sun, the ocean, and the Himalayas, but later we must learn to behold him even in the smallest and most insignificant objects in the world. One must learn to worship him in both the elephant and the ant, in the beautiful as well as the ugly, in both the sinner and the saint.

In the eleventh chapter, Krishna reveals to Arjuna his fearful form as Kala, or all-consuming time, the greatest killer, he destroyer of all beings. The vision was different t from the one he showed at the Kuru court. It was at once supremely beautiful and terrifying, for it was a direct answer to Arjunas request to see his cosmic form. The love he bore for Arjuna was so great he was prepared to grant his every wish. The glory that Arjuna saw was that of the entire cosmos resting within the form of the Lord. The vision enabled Arjuna to understand not only that everything emanates from him, but that he himself is everything .

Time eternal and all-consuming am I, the ordainer with faces turned to every side. I am death, which seizes all, as well as the source of life, from which it all emanates. That which is the seed of all things am I. Supporting this universe with but a tiny portion of myself do I stand.’

Arjuna realized that all beings are one in God. But the most important teaching of the chapter, which Arjuna grasped, was that even the actions that he thought of as his own were really not his but the Lords who used him as an instrument.

Arjuna was both terrified and enraptured as he gazed on the Lords cosmic form. The countless hosts of both the Kurus and the Pandavas were seen entering into him. Each arm, each hand, each weapon was an arm, a hand, and a weapon of the Divine Charioteer. Like moths rushing to a flame, all these living beings rushed toward him to be consumed in the fierce and terrible energy that was emanating from him. The fearsome spectacle overwhelmed Arjuna. He shrank back and begged Krishna to forgive him for having treated him in a familiar manner. All these years Arjuna had considered Krishna to be only an exceptional human being, but now he saw to his consternation that his friend was in reality the one friend of the whole universe.

O God of gods! O refuge of the Universe! Be kind to me! he cried, appalled at the enormity of his offense. Whatever disrespect I might have shown to you in the past, pray forgive me, for you are possessed of boundless compassion.’

Hearing this plea, the Lord once more resumed his previous form, that delectable form that enraptured all those who saw it. The cosmic form was shown to Arjuna to make him realize that a human being can neither create nor destroy. All action is, in fact, universal action. So long as we do not realize this, we are bound by the results of our actions, but once we do realize it, then we are no longer bound, for we act as instruments of the Divine. Our duty is only to make ourselves fitting instruments to be used by him in whatever capacity he may think fit. Nimitta matram bhava savyasachin (Do thou be an instrument alone, O Arjuna).

The final verse of the chapter sums up the entire teaching of the Gita. O son of Pandu, the one who performs action for my sake, who considers me as the supreme goal of life, who is devoted to me, who is devoid of attachment, and who is without animosity toward any living being, that one finds it easy to attain me.’

The twelfth chapter is known as bhakti yoga, or the yoga of devotion. In reply to Arjunas question, the Lord points that devotion to the formless Brahman is very difficult for the human mind to achieve, for the mind is conditioned to see forms alone. Therefore it is better to meditate on the Lord with form, for God can be in any form in which the devotee likes to picture him. If this is done with the knowledge that all forms merely point to the formless Purushottama (supreme person), then the devotee will easily reach the goal that striving yogis attain only after much painful effort. The devotee of God with form, however, enlists the aid of even the senses in worship. The devotee offers all the activities of the senses, together with the flowers of the garden, at the lotus feet of the Lord. Seeing his or her beloved in every form, he or she worships the whole creation. Friendly and compassionate to all, he or she is contented with whatever he or she gets, for everything is an image of his or her beloved. Such a devotee is balanced in joy and sorrow, free fro envy, fear, and anxiety. They have no disappointments, since they have no expectations. They are perfectly satisfied with whatever comes unasked, for everything is a gift from their beloved. Their joy emanates from a non temporal source, and their only resolve is to love him and serve him and serve him to the best of their ability.

In the thirteenth chapter, Sri Krishna declares that this body of ours is the kshetra, or field, which the Divine uses as his playground. The Divine Spirit that thus uses this field is known as kshetrajama, or the knower of the field. The bodies of all creatures are the individual fields of action and the universe, the universal field. But the knower of all these is one and the same – the Lord himself, the kshetrajama. In the state of ignorance, the jivatma thinks that it alone is both the knower and the actor. Thus it keeps sowing the seeds for future births in different fields and has to reap the harvest of births in successive wombs. With the dawn of enlightenment, the diva realizes that the Lords Prakriti is the universal actor and the Lord himself, the universal knower, and that the individual as a separate entity does not exist. With this realization, its role as a separate person in the cosmic drama comes to an end.

In the fourteenth chapter the three modes of Prakriti (nature) – sattva (harmony, intelligence, clarity), rajas (action, passion, motion, desire), and tamas (inertia, sloth, ignorance) – are explained. Sattva is the principle of harmony or equilibrium; raja, the principle of kinesis or action; and tamas, the principle of lethargy or inertia. This is the modus operandi of Prakriti through which she activates the whole of creation. All imaginable things are formed of a combination and permutation of these three modes. The way to liberation lies in overcoming rajas and tamas and developing sattvic qualities like peace, harmony, and tranquility, for this provides a fitting background for the Divine to shine through us. Finally, of course, even sattva has to be transcended, for even that is a product of Prakriti. The one who has transcended these three gunas is thus known as trigunatita, and his or her qualifications are similar of the sthithaprajna of the second chapter and the karma yogi of the third.

The fifteenth chapter is known as as purushottama yoga, or the yoga of the supreme person, wherein Lord Krishna declares himself to be the Purushottama who stands above the kshara and akshara, matter and spirit, by the interaction of which the entire world process comes into being. The Purusottama can be said to be above this, inasmuch as he is both transcendent and immanent. Though he permeates each and every atom, creation cannot contain him, since the effect cannot contain the cause.

The world process is compared to a mighty tree with its roots stretching upward to the infinite, its branches spreading downward into the world, and its aerial roots probing into the earth and binding the embodied soul with its strong bonds of attachment. Using the sharp-edged sword of discrimination one has to cut asunder these clinging roots and thus gain liberation.

The sixteenth and seventeenth chapters are in the nature corollaries, and the eighteen chapter is a grand summing up of the entire teaching. In the sixteenth chapter, the difference between the Divine and the demonic qualities is given so that one can try to shun the demonic and develop the Divine. However noble we may think ourselves there lurks a devil in each of our bosoms, and one has to strive hard to eradicate it.

The seventeenth chapter is known as the yoga of the threefold faith, and the Lord gives a masterly analysis of how the three modes of nature (sattva, rajas, and tamas) infiltrate even our noblest actions such as worship, charity, austerity, and sacrifice, as well as mundane things like the food we eat. The three modes color every aspect of our action so that the rajastic person’s charity if for show and ostentations; the tamasic person’s worship is a mere humbling of prayers, with no understanding of their meaning or effect, lacking faith and firmness; while the satvic soul performs all actions with firmness, generosity, and no desire for personal gain. Foods that are bland and promote mental as well as physical strength, vitality, and health are known as yogic foods and are sattvic in nature. Rajastic foods are hot and spicy and give rise to disease and passion. Tamasic foods are stale and unwholesome and give rise to sloth and sleep. Thus, the Lord analyzes every aspect of man’s nature and activity and gives a perfect method as to how best we can try to surmount rajas and tamas, starting from the basic level with the foods we eat, until our entire system is purified and we can transcend the gunas of Prakriti and reach the state of the Purushottama. The great mantra Aum Tat Sat should be repeated at the beginning and end of every action, for it denotes the Supreme and reminds the doer that all acts are done by his Prakriti and that the fruits should be dedicated to him.

Finally, in the last and eighteenth chapter, known as the yoga of liberation through renunciation, the Lord summarizes all that has been said before. He reiterates that the real sannyasi is the one who has renounced the sense of being the doer of actions and such a one is also the real tyagi (renunciate), for sannyasa is not a mere matter of wearing ocher robes and giving up home and family life. It entails a renunciation of the mind, of clinging attachment to the things of the world. Such a one can live in the world and play a part in the cosmic drama, as an instrument in the hands of the Purushottama. Thus, Arjuna has to play his part, has to renounce his tamasic attachment to relatives and take up his mighty bow in the interest of the world at large. As the Gandiva is in his own hands, so also is he in the hands of the Divine Archer. Krishna’s final words to his beloved disciple Arjuna and through him to the world are, ‘Fix your mind on me, and you will surely attain me. This do I promise you, for you are dearly beloved by me.’ And once again as a final benediction, ‘Having renounced all dharmas, take refuge in me alone. Verily I promise you that I shall free you from all sins and lead you to liberation.’

We carry the burden of our lives like mindless donkeys, not realizing that the Lord within us is ever ready to bear the brunt of our lives, to laugh and cry with us, to nurse and suckle us, to care for and comfort us. No one is born alone and none needs to die alone, so why should we live alone? Into this Kurukshetra of life we are propelled like Arjuna, not alone and helpless as we think but ever protected by the charioteer within us. He has ever been with us and is every ready to help us, provided we allow ourselves to be helped. We must take off the armor of our separate egos, with which we think we are protecting ourselves but with which we are actually barricading ourselves against him, the Parmatma and Purushottama, nearer to us than our nearest, dearer than the dearest, sole friend, sole relation, sole guide for the whole of humanity. Therefore, surrender to him and live in harmony and peace devoid of cares, like the fortunate child who cuddles into his mother’s arms and is carried by her through the bustle and turbulence of life.

Tenderly, the Lord asked his beloved Arjuna, ‘Have you listened to my teaching with single-pointed concentration, O Arjuna? Has your delusion born of ignorance been destroyed?

At these words, Arjuna, with his mind clear and his nerves and muscles made as firm as steel, fearlessly replied, ‘By your grace, O Lord, my delusion has gone, and I have gained my senses. I am now fixed in my resolve and will do as you command.’

Say this, he sprang to his feet and gave a blast on his conch Devadatta, while Krishna blew the Panchajanya, sending a thrill of joy through Pandava ranks and a shock of fear through the Kauravas. At the end of the sermon, Sanjaya declared to the blind king, ‘Blessed am I, O King, for by the grace of Vyasa, I have heard this thrilling disclosure by the master yogi, and Partha, the wielder of the bow, there will be prosperity, victory, glory, and righteousness. This is my firm conviction.’

Krishna and Arjuna stand for the jivatma and the Paramatma, the embodied being and God, seated together in the chariot of the body.

When human being and God stand united, when the individual works in collaboration with the Divine, when he or she becomes the living conscious instrument of the Divine, then there can never be defeat. Righteousness and victory are the natural offspring of this blissful union. “

The self is never born, nor does it ever perish, nor having

been born will it be born in future. This self is

unborn, eternal, imperishable, and ageless. Though the

body is slain, the self does not perish.

As the spirit in our body wanders on through childhood,

youth, and old age, so it wanders on to a new body. Of

this the sage has no doubt.

The Bhagavad Gita and the Hero’s Journey to Unity Consciousness

Mythological researcher Joseph Campbell showed that most of the great myths followed a path he coined the Hero’s Journey – the quest for personal mastery and renunciation of the ego, the victory of light over the dark, and ultimate (re)-union with the Divine Source. The Gita is a master-class in the Hero’s Journey and reflects that path that every single one of us takes through countless life times to master. Many enlightened souls and masters have taken human form throughout history to teach the same basic teaching of non-dualistic understanding (there is no us and them, there is only One), leading to union with the Divine. Their teachings were shaped to reflect the culture of the people they lived among but the core universal laws always shone through.

What’s particularly interesting is that now in the 21st century, where our science has progressed to an advanced stage, we can see the spiritual principles reflected in quantum science principles.

Mataji Devi Vanamali’s The Complete Life of Krishna falls in the later category.

Obedient to his role as a charioteer, Krishna, the Lord of all the world, obeyed the command of his friend Arjuna and drove the chariot to this no-man’s land between the opposing armies. To him, who was thus in such a potable condition, Lord Krishna, his friend, his philosopher, and God, imparted the most marvelous spiritual instruction, the highest spiritual instruction that can be given to humanity, known as the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, or ‘The Song of God’.

Like Arjuna, we stand in this no-man’s land between the opposing forces. But he had the sense to realize that by himself he was hapless, and therefore he had given over the reins of his life into the capable and willing hands of his divine charioteer, who steered him through this dangerous battle with cease, protected him, and led him to a glorious victory.

The Lord within us, who is our boon companion, waits patiently for us to play out our game of make-believe as the sole hero of our life’s drama.

That is why the Gita’s message is still as fresh as when it was first given five thousand years ago, for it is always renewable in the personal experience of every human being. The central idea is to reconcile and effect a unity between the inner, highest spiritual truth in ourselves and the cosmos on one hand and the outer actualities of our life and action on the other. Thus, it is a guide for each one of us in our day-to-day lives. Whatever the problem we might face, whether horrifying or sanctifying, it can be solved by the application of the Gita’s teachings. The word gita means ‘song’ and the Bhagavad Gita is the Song of God and therefore the song of life – of existence and omniscience, leading to bliss – sat (truth), chit (consciousness), and ananda (bliss).

The first chapter is known as Arjuna vishada yoga, or the yoga of Arjuna’s despondency, in which he refuses to fight with his relations,.

Thus it is that the Lord makes his famous statement in the second chapter: ‘Your right is to the work alone and not to the fruits thereof.’

Whatever the nature of the work that one is called upon to perform in the discharge of one’s duty in life can considered an act of worship, which can take us to mukti, or liberation.

If money has been the object of our life’s pursuit, to money the mind will fly at the time of death.

It was at once supremely beautiful and terrifying, for it was a direct answer to Arjuna’s request to see his cosmic form. The love he bore for Arjuna was so great he was prepared to grant his every wish. The glory that Arjuna saw was that of the entire cosmos resting within the form of the Lord. The vision enabled Arjuna to understand not only that everything emanates from him, but that he himself is everything .

‘Time eternal and all-consuming am I, the ordainer with faces turned to every side. I am death, which seizes all, as well as the source of life, from which it all emanates. That which is the seed of all things am I. Supporting this universe with but a tiny portion of myself do I stand.’

Arjuna realized that all beings are one in God. But the most important teaching of the chapter, which Arjuna grasped, was that even the actions that he thought of as his own were really not his but the Lord’s who used him as an instrument.

Arjuna was both terrified and enraptured as he gazed on the Lord’s cosmic form.

‘O God of gods! O refuge of the Universe! Be kind to me! he cried, appalled at the enormity of his offense. ‘Whatever disrespect I might have shown to you in the past, pray forgive me, for you are possessed of boundless compassion.’

‘O son of Pandu, the one who performs action for my sake, who considers me as the supreme goal of life, who is devoted to me, who is devoid of attachment, and who is without animosity toward any living being, that one finds it easy to attain me.’

The twelfth chapter is known as bhakti yoga, or the yoga of devotion. In reply to Arjuna’s question, the Lord points that devotion to the formless Brahman is very difficult for the human mind to achieve, for the mind is conditioned to see forms alone.

With the dawn of enlightenment, the diva realizes that the Lord’s Prakriti is the universal actor and the Lord himself, the universal knower, and that the individual as a separate entity does not exist.
