It’s one of my favorite political speeches of all times, partially because “Dr. King”  passionately believed the words that he spoke.  It’s my hope, that this iPainting does him justice.

As a group of men, the first thing I think about my Grandfathers and my Dad, is the Ministry. The second is that all three were Coal Miners, at one point in their life.  It’s part of my heritage, even though it’s something I’ve never did, and in truth terrified me.

Grandpa Hill was carried out of a mine in an epileptic attack , and God healed him.  Grandpa Pruitt was paralyzed in a cave in, and Pastored out of a wheelchair for over forty years.  Dad was an electrician in the mines in my early years.  We hope you enjoy this iPainting of a humble “Virginia Miner”.

Eddington Three Coffees And A Rabbit

[image error]Official channels were out. They would just send Marika home, and assign another person to frighten us. We needed a way to use our proof with maximum impact.

I had two choices in front of me. Either give a copy of the proof to Rastilav, which would give me leverage, but would also help him put a rival in place. I could always show the video to Marika, and try to blackmail her into undermining the Ambassador.

Helping Rastilav didn’t sit well with me, and neither did helping Marika, even if it helped us. I needed a third option, so I asked Otecko. I should have started with that option.

“When I was a boy, my Otecko had some chickens. There was two which did not like each other. No matter what, they would attack each other, at any opportunity.”

“He did his best to keep them separate, until one day. My cousins, small boys, only a little older than me, forgot, and let them out to feed at the same time. Another fight was about to start, until the unexpected reared it’s head.”

“A rabbit had some how gotten in the yard. One of Otecko’s dogs, saw him, and started the chase. Those two hens were so scared, they flew under the same corner of the hen house. It took an hour for them to come out. They never fought another day.”

I laughed. “It’s a great story, but how does that help us with these two?” “Simple. Why do we always offer three coffees at the store?” “Because it’s easier for the person to choose from three coffees than two.”

“Exactly. The rabbit is your third option. Chase the two hens under the corner of their own hen house, by giving the video to a rabbit.”

I admit, I still did t understand, until Otecko made a phone call to Sam. Then he winked at me. “Three coffees and a rabbit Tomás.”

Eddington Steamed Revenge

I told you pressure makes you better, it’s because it heightens your focus. I mentioned the building was beside Of Stefaniak’s. That’s because I knew it well. Mr Collier used to have a business there.  

He’s moved on, but his son hadn’t. Mark had an affinity for technology, including those little cheap cameras that can go anywhere. There wasn’t one in the building, they would have caught that, but not the one in the alley.

A year back, someone was messing with mine, and Mr Collier’s garbage. Mark put a camera in the alley. Turned out to be some teenagers, but I don’t think Mark ever took it down. 

I called him, and he checked the feed. An hour later, I had video of Grandma Deadly, and her men, dragging me out of the back of Stefaniak’s, and to the next building. I had something now.

I sipped an Americano with breve while Sam viewed. He laughed for a minute or two, then looked at my coffee. “Sometimes this job is sweet. You should be happy too Thomas. Sokol will be angry and humiliated. Steamed revenge is pretty sweet.”
