iPainting Fall Arrangement

You see them everywhere, beautiful fall arrangements. So many people take the colors of the harvest season and make something beautiful out of them. Even though some are dried things, and hard to work with.

Sometimes circumstances can be hard to work with, but they can be turned into beautiful things. Walt Disney didn’t mind so badly his three bankruptcies once we all wishing upon a star. It took work to get there, but the same red and black of accounting came became the colors of Mickey Mouse, with a little sunlight yellow thrown in. Sunlight can make even the driest field into a beautiful arrangement.

iPainting Reflecting On Autumn

After a wonderful time of worship at Point Of Mercy, time with family, and a peaceful afternoon I’m reflecting on Autumn. It’s not only a time of color changing, cooler days, and pumpkins. It’s a time of reflecting on God’s blessings. We have been given an amazing gift of life, and even on it’s strangest days, we are alive to experience it. Each day there is a reason to say Thank You!

iPainting Pumpkin Spice

Soon kitchens will be filled with pumpkins, both as decoration and ingredients. Pumpkin spice is a popular anything the last few years they tell me. I prefer to look at, rather than to eat pumpkin, don’t care for the taste.

My wife loves pumpkin pie, so as a cook I’ve cooked some. Our little boy loves the look of them and the taste. He told me last night it’s time to get a pumpkin. I love surrounding myself with the things my family loves. If it makes them smile, it makes me smile.

Jim Henson Day

As a child growing up, I knew that certain people were fascinating. Among them were Walt Disney, Bob Ross, and Jim Henson. This was the man who, invented not only the Muppets, but as far as I was concerned invented Sesame Street, and later Fraggle Rock.

I know now he was not the only one behind Sesame Street of course. I also know that while he created the Muppets, he welcomed other voices, like Frank Oz. That’s part of what I admire about him and Walt Disney.

They opened up avenues for people to do things they never could have alone. From the Sherman Brothers to Oscar the Grouch, they had a very special person to unlock a door for them.

Today we remember Jim Henson and all the Dreamers who introduced us to talking frogs, pompous pigs, and lovable, if not wokka wokka, bears.

iPainting Wonderful Fall

It’s a wonderful Fall day. I enjoyed starting my day with the wonderful weather while I read my Bible. Mornings like this are awesome times to think about God’s blessings, and to pray for others.

While the world we live in has challenges, we have a God Who said don’t worry He overcame the world. I’m so glad that, no matter what season of life or the year we’re in, The Lord is with us.

iPainting Driving Into Fall

In last night’s Bible Study, our Pastor Denny Livingston, was was encouraging us to finish the year strong, and deepen our walk with God. He pointed out that from September 23 to December 31, there are 100 days left in the year. We have the opportunity to navigate successfully some goals in this last quarter.

Every season is what you make it. I intend to drive into fall with Faith, Family, and Fellowship. Because nothing is more important as we finish the year.

iPainting The First Day Of Fall 2021

Today is the first day of Fall, or Autumn, depending on how you refer to it. Either way, it means a season of beautiful colors, cooler days, and preparation for the holidays. I’m thrilled to say hello to the fall.

The season leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas is one of anticipation, joy, and excitement. It’s also a time when you can catch your breath, reflect on your blessings, and look ahead to a new year. Happy Fall Y’all!
