Tasting every meal in the smorgasbord?” I can’t believe I just said something so hurtful in my panicked state of trying to hide my emotions.Tate just stares at me and steps to the side, opening the door.“If that’s what you believe then I suggest you leave. See you on the ward tomorrow, Doctor Garrett. Message received, loud and clear.” He walks past me with his shoulders a little drooped.“Tate, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…” Before I can finish, he’s already walking away.“Please close the door on your way out, Doctor Garrett.” He then continues to walk into the bathroom in his office and shuts the door.

I never meant to become a criminal.
