When Jake takes liberties by kissing her, its more than either of them could have bargained for.

Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a princess…
Growing up, I was a proficient story teller, with most of my plots encompassing princesses and princes and dreams coming true. Now as an author, some of my stories are still about royalty, knights, duels, ladies, intrigue, betrayal. History fascinates me and I try to bring history back to life in each of my stories.
My favorite time periods are medieval, renaissance and Regency eras of Europe. Growing up, I was lucky to have grandparents who lived in Paris, so many a summer was spent exploring medieval ruins and historical sites.
One of my all time favorite books is Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, and I am of course Jane Austen fan, my two favorites being Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. I love the in-depth, emotionally riveting and intriguing works of historical author, Ken Follett. I am also a fan of Shakespeare, and you will find in a lot of my writing reference to the literary God and his work. Not only Shakespeare, but other period poets and literary notables of history are on my keeper shelf. My love affair with the romance genre started young. I picked up my first romance novel, The Bride, by Julie Garwood when I was in high school, and I haven’t been able to stop reading or writing romance since.
When I’m not reading or writing I am usually doing research for fun. If you love history, come visit me at History Undressed, where we discuss all the wildly fascinating and titillating facts of history! Recently I’ve started to post reviews of historical fiction and romance novels as well.

Coffee, Tea or Me by Rich Amooi, book review
Susie opens a tea shop next to Jack’s coffee shop and the war begins.
Jack Robbins has a booming coffee business, an eighty-year old customer who can’t keep his clothes on, and a rescue Chihuahua named Chimichanga that likes to kiss on the mouth. Life is good until the new business next door takes a bite out of his sales.
Susie McKenna has the new tea shop everyone is talking about, an over-protective brother, and a stubborn, good-looking neighbor who is trying to steal her customers.
Things really start to percolate when Jack and Susie both volunteer to help plan the downtown festival. They have to work together and soon Jack won’t be able to get by without his daily fix of Susie. But can a coffee lover and a tea devotee put their competition aside to get their happily ever after?
My thoughts:
Jack goes down to see about this new place opening up and walks in but doesn’t see anyone. As he is looking around he breaks a vase but see some code violations. A man comes out and accuses Jack of snooping and they don’t get off on the right foot. There are some laugh out moments in this book different things they both try and out do each other.
The author does a great job getting these two to come together and try and work through their issues when neither one wants to like the other and when Jack learns Susie has a brother not a husband is priceless.
Opposites to attract they say.

Be Mine in Good Hope by Cindy Kirk, book review
Celebrated hairstylist Marigold Bloom knows how to tease beauty out of chaos…until her own life becomes untamable. After losing her prestigious job in Chicago, Marigold returns home to Good Hope, Wisconsin. But her plan to lay low and consider her next move is complicated by an unexpected blast from the past.
Sheriff Cade Rallis has never forgotten the blissful weekend he spent with the irresistible Marigold in Door County. Seeing her again is like a one-two punch to his heart, and he knows he can’t lose her a second time.
Marigold never meant for her stay in Good Hope to be permanent, and she certainly never meant to fall for Cade. As Valentine’s Day approaches and her dream job beckons, will Cupid’s grip on Marigold be strong enough to keep her in Good Hope? Or will the lure of fame and fortune in the big city prove impossible to resist?
My thoughts:
Marigold is back home after she looses her great job in Chicago. Her boss thought she was taken over his clients and doing wrong. Now trying to decide what to do with herself when she runs into Cade. Cade is the local sheriff of Good Hope and had a great time with her long ago. When he sees her he knows he is not letting her go a second time.
Marigold doesn’t plan to stay in Good Hope but Cade might have other plans.
What a great read and the pages start flying faster and faster as the readers gets into the book. Cade really wants Marigold to stay in town and work things out but Marigold wants to make her dream come true. She did once and she can again and no man is going to stop her. The setting is great and you find yourself in the story helping fix up her temporary shop to cut hair. There are some laugh out loud moments that make you love the characters and author even more.

Hazel Darling by Annie Rose Welch blog tour, book review, giveaway and teaser.
Book Title: Hazel Darling: Sweetest Sister
Author: Annie Rose Welch
Genre: Romance
Release Date: December 14, 2016
Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions
Hazel Little Darling is hoping this is a recipe for a new start. Hazel is banking on a life full of flour, sugar, butter, and fairy tales to make all her dreams come true. A life far removed from the one she had been living—a life of secrets with her infamous gang of sisters. She swears off excess food, drinks, pills, and, boys, all in hopes of living the “good life.”
California brings the mysterious Tobias Jameson, who seems to materialize in the still of the night. Their fated rendezvous under the stars is a short one, leaving Hazel to draw her own conclusions about what exactly transpired between two passing souls. After their meeting, Hazel’s sure that she’ll never again see the handsome man who seemed to understand her without truly knowing her. Tobias has other plans, though, and he fights for a place in Hazel’s life— something Hazel has never experienced before and that makes her trust him even less. So when Hazel’s history is brought to light, she’s not sure whether her past will steal her happily ever after, or become the foundation of her life’s greatest recipe.
Her sweetest remedy, or nothing but a bitter goodbye.
Review
Hazel is looking for a bran new start. She gets away from her sisters and gives up a lot of things. She meets Tobias a total stranger and artist. Things get difficult and confusing for the Hazel. Can she move away from her past and who will be part of her future. Is it sure opposites attract?
The story was a great read I liked finding out what was going to happen to both Hazel and Tobias. Would they grow and move forward.
The characters are great and you want to see what happens.
Hazel Darling: Sweetest Sister (The Ladies of Pistol Fanny's Book 1) [image error]
Tobias studied Hazel’s eyes for a moment, but not even the fire of his gaze could penetrate Hazel’s stone wall. Years of masking her feelings had made her unreadable.
As the evening sun revolved into the depths of the sky, an outpouring of stars twinkled in the twilight’s den, over an ocean that had a pulse livelier than the two hearts that beat before it, Tobias pulled Hazel closer, putting his warm lips to hers, as if seeking answers by a deeper means, a means where words have no meaning.
A kiss cannot tell a lie.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty- one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California).
Her passion for writing began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightening bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn’t stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm.
When she’s not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. Deciding on a whim to hitch up those same wagons, Annie currently resides in Texas (where everything is bigger) with her husband, daughter, and their two peculiar dogs, Boudreaux and Tabasco (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent).

Misled: A bad boy mafia romantic suspense by Penelope Marshall and Tia Lewis, book review
Mixing business with pleasure was not my usual MO as a bounty hunter—until her.
She was scared and alone, running from the very man who’d hired me to hunt her down.
I knew what he’d do if I turned her over—she wasn’t going to make it out alive.
Common sense told me to look the other way.
After all, no one f*cked with the Sabella crime family—until now.
Guaranteed HEA!!
My thoughts:
Isaiah is a former seal and now a fixer for the Sabella family. He has been asked to take care of the bosses sister, Mellissa but he knows what will happen when he takes her back. He doesn’t care until he finds her at his apartment. Once he finds her more of the bosses men come as well and wants to take them both out. Do they come out of this together and in one piece?
A quick read about bad boy and sweet girl. The authors do a great job with the pace of the story and throwing these two together makes the story work. The characters get to know themselves better along with the reader and you find yourself hoping they make it out alive.

Wicked Cowboy Charm by Carolyn Brown book review
Josie Dawson is new in town, but it doesn’t take a local to know that Deke Sullivan is trouble–in a smokin’ hot package. He’s sweet, sexy, and has charmed just about every woman in Dry Creek, Texas. Well, Josie won’t be next. She’ll keep her distance, even if he is great with babies and makes a mean cup of homemade hot chocolate.
Deke Sullivan really is a one-woman type of guy. He just had to do a lot of looking to find that one woman. Now he thinks he’s found her and he won’t let a strong, sassy gal like Josie slip away. Just when he’s wondering how to convince her he only has eyes for her, they get stranded in a tiny cabin during a major blizzard. If Deke can melt her heart before they dig out of the snow, he’ll be the luckiest cowboy in Texas . . .
The Lucky Penny Ranch Series: Wild Cowboy WaysHot Cowboy Nights Merry Cowboy ChristmasWicked Cowboy Charm
My thoughts:
Josie is new in town as she is staying with her brother until she can get her own ranch going. She goes to the feed store and runs into and gets help from Deke a local rancher. They both want to get some stock and plan to go to two different sellers. A snow storm takes hold and Josie’s flight is not going to where she wants to go. She rents a car and ends up at the same place Deke is. The snow storm is worse and they both stay in the bunkhouse. Things start to heat up as the player and the headstrong come together.
Brown never disappoints in her books. A wonderful read with great characters and settings. The reader feels like they are in the story right along with the characters. Josie was fun to read about and some laugh out loud moments make this book rock.

Mail Order Mystery (Chance City Series #1) by Robin Deeter book review
Leigh Hawthorne, a widow and local farmer in Beckham, Massachusetts, enlists the services of Elizabeth Miller, the creator of the nationally published, Groom’s Gazette, to find a husband. An unusual letter from a man out west, who wants to marry a woman with ranching expertise, could solve all of Leigh’s problems. Hoping to find a better life, Leigh embarks on a journey to Chance City, Oklahoma.
Fired for breaking Pinkerton rules, former detective, Cyrus Decker, just wants to live a quiet life as a cattle rancher. The problem is that he knows nothing about ranching—and his bank account shows it. Dogged by Chance City’s sheriff to join his staff, and plagued by money woes, Cy desperately needs help to turn their ranch around. He hopes that Leigh is the answer to his prayers.
Brought together by necessity, will Leigh and Cy find love or will their attempt to find lasting happiness meet with disaster? Join the Chance City adventure as its citizens battle opposing forces and mayhem in their searches for love and a brighter future.
My thoughts:
Leigh a widow is ready to leave her father in laws farm and do her own thing and get the credit for it. She goes to the Groom Gazette to find a husband. She finds one and writes to Cyrus or Cy as he likes to be called.
Cy needs help to run his ranch that he bought after getting fried for breaking the rules with the Pinkerton’s. He hopes Leigh can help but in no way wanted to fall for her.
Leigh wants to prove herself and she does the first few days and wins everyone over. Cy helps the local law with this detective expertise but not everyone likes Indians. One man he works with doesn’t really are for him but sure likes Cy’s, sister. Hopefully we will see more about those two in the next book. The authors does a great job with the characters and the setting. You want to see Leigh succeed and Cy as well. They both have some things to work out and they both are easy to like.
I was really pleased with this read and looking for more books.

Second Chance Ranch by Liz Isaacson book review
A new Christian western romance from bestselling author, Elana Johnson, writing as Liz Isaacson for her contemporary adult romance debut.
After his deployment, injured and discharged Major Squire Ackerman returns to Three Rivers Ranch, anxious to prove himself capable of running the cattle operation so his parents can retire. Things would be easier if the ranch wasn’t missing 1.6 million dollars, which forces Squire to hire Kelly, the girl who rejected his high school prom invitation, as his accountant.
She’s back in town with her four-year-old son, living in her parent’s basement until she can get her life back together. With fresh ink on her divorce papers and open gashes on her heart, she’s not ready for much beyond her new job on the ranch.
Squire wants to forgive Kelly for ignoring him a decade ago. He’d like to provide the stable life she needs, but with old wounds opening and a ranch on the brink of financial collapse, it will take patience and faith to make their second chance possible.
For fans of inspirational western romance authors Kimberly Krey, Becky Wade, and Denise Hunter.
My thoughts:
Squire comes home after getting hurt overseas. He wants to help run the ranch so his parents can retire but they need a new accountant to help as their old one passed away. Kelly is an old family friend and Squire’s sister best friend. She applies for the job and gets it but is not prepared for what is involved.
The author does a great job with this story. I was hooked from the beginning as I wanted to know who took the money was it really the old accountant or maybe even Squire’s parents. He use to have a crush on Kelly and even invited her to the prom but she shot him down or did she?
The setting and the characters are great. Each one has their problems and with the help from the other they can over come a lot of obstacles.
I will be looking for more books by this author.
