I've always written. Even in middle school I was putting together love poems for the boys I was so enamored with. I became a mom at seventeen so it took me longer than most to make it to college. I went to school for creative writing, but dropped out my senior year because life has a funny way of putting you where you need to be. I have three kids (2 over 18), three dogs (all over 70lbs) and four chickens. I recently started gardening and learning about the benefits of organic living. Book Two is about Valerie's older sister Sydney.Happy Reading! ...more

“For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you. Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave. They show us what community and friendship mean; they show us how to live and die.”
